And while I'm on the subject can I just give a big thank you to Sir David Attenborough. Such a knowledgable narrator. I doubt we will ever see someone of his quality ever again, or at least not in my lifetime. Everything he lends his name and his expertise to is just incredible. On behalf of everyone here, thank you so much David. From the bottom of our hearts.

    I always breathe a small sigh of relief when I hear David Attenborough's voice. Even when he appears on screen, you know the focus is on the animals, and there will be no anthropomorphism. If natural history shows were more like that, instead of people making the shows about them, I'd watch a hell of a lot more natural history.

      I don't know where I read this. But once a baby elephant got killed by the lions. The next day, all the elephants got together and killed all the lion cubs they could find. According to the narrator of that incident, it was the first instance of animal revenge ( at least to the best of the narrator's knowledge). As generally, animals are not vengeful, it was an odd and scary event. Thanks, YT and BBC Earth.

    That elephant looked about the size of a juvenile. I doubt 30 lions could take a bull elephant. You'd need at least 50.

    • @user-bw2ye2ce3h
      @user-bw2ye2ce3h 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. I am not sure that a big bull elephant in his prime would be possible for any amount of lions. If it was in the mating season and the bull was hopped up on testosterone it would just attack the lions nonstop and never run. A few lions get gored or trampled and the rest would leave it as a bad job.

    I grinned when Attenborough recalled narrating while not seeing where the lions were due to darkness (lions might be creeping silently towards him!). It's always difficult to watch pack hunting - whether it's lions or wolves or hyenas... the terror, the cruelty, and the helplessness of the hunted. It's equally frightening when a pack of dogs or a mob (humans) attacks. In comparison, when the solitary tiger hunts, it has more dignity and it's fairer for the hunted - at least it has a better chance.

    • @KeegoonBarnacle

      graphite Sauropods can attack from behind, so the battle would be more jab just a chase. They were able to move surprisingly fast compared to other animals at their time due to their huge strides.
