My great-grandfather,who was an electrician, had the privilege of meeting Walt when he looked at the Orlando property, he said Walt was a very nice and genuine gentleman and enjoyed speaking with him. He was very interested in different lighting techniques and listened intently to my Great Grandfather who was an advanced electrician in the industry at the time.
I agree, today WDW is nothing like it was in the 70's, 80's or even the 90's. We use to plan our trip 9 months in advance and the anticipation was so great it was hard to sleep the night before leaving. Now the cast members are mostly indifferent to what's going on around them, a lot of the the other guests are so self absorbed with selfies and their me me me attitude, and being just plain rude it's not worth going.
I myself also miss the old days of Disney World 😭😭. It has lost a lot of the magic it once had. They took away so many attractions (Jungle Cruise, House Carriages, etc) because just too many people due to population increase, and the fact that the original minds and hearts that created Disney World are sadly no longer with us 🙏.
After my Uncle retired from the Air Force he worked at Disney as a designer. He was so proud of that Company and having worked there. Walt Disney was a genius and so sad he couldnt have lived to see all of it. We miss you Walt !
Growing up in the 60s, our family always watched Disney's Wonderful World of Color. Our marching band raised money my senior year of high school so that we could go to Disney World, 1973. It really was magical. Thank you so much Mr Disney, for making dreams come true

MAN! Thanks for uploading this video. Brings back memories. I watched this thing over and over when I was a kid. I think it's half the reason I'm such a Disney freak now.
Whatever Walt got involved with in his movies, there was an educational and moral lesson in them for the kids. To this day I have NEVER had a teacher refuse me permission to take either my grandkids or great grandkids out of school for a week at Disney world !!! There is something new in every park that the children learn every day. We practice reading with the menus and the safety warnings on the rides and money management by giving them a spending budget for souvenirs and snacks. Works every time. and they generally spend every penny while we are there.
Thanks for all the happiness Walt and Roy,..Disney dreaming stories and tales have taught me a lot about the philosophy of life I enjoy following. If I can dream it then I can do it, yes I can!

I'm heading to Magic Kingdom in a few weeks. Being a FL Resident, I go all the time, and every time I go, I just think to myself, Disney would be so proud if he were still alive.
EPCOT was supposed to be a place where all nations and companies could help develop new technology, hence why the EPCOT center has (or should I had) rides that talked about tech sponsored by companies and the world fair behind it. Now the future world rides are mostly non-sponsored and the rides are slowly being turned into movie-based rides. If I wanted those, I'd go to Magic Kingdom, not EPCOT.
I hope I can visit Walt Disney World. I live in California so I've been to Disneyland and I absolutely love it. Been a long time since I went last though. But I also want to experience Disney World. See Epcot, Animal Kingdom etc.
Sigh, Walt Disney World, my childhood, so much Nostalgia despite not being there since 2009, stayed at the Polynesian Resort, and I remember that resort having a restaurant called Captain Cooks, a shame its not there anymore. Still, Walt Disney World is still my Childhood, and I can say without a doubt that Walt Disney World is, in fact, the Happiest Place on Earth.
I'm glad I was able to finally see this. I've heard about this special, but never got to see it since I wasn't born when it came on the Disney Channel, or had the video. It's interesting to see the history of how Disney World came about. However, it's kind of sad to think of how most of the things they mention about EPCOT in the "Future World" don't even exist anymore, or been replaced. At least Captain EO has came back for anyone who enjoyed that show, but I don't think it'll last for long.
EPCOT as Walt imagined it would have never worked because of one uncontrollable feature: Human beings. People would not want to live where they had no vote or control. They would not own their homes or have equity. They’d have no say. There would have been so many lawsuits. Utopias are perfect on paper, but are oppressive in their imperfect real life implementations. Disney did eventually experiment with building a Disney community in Celebration, Florida. But it didn’t turn out as they’d hoped and Disney got out of it. Now all the people who bought in are at the mercy of a super HOA from hell.
Things have been added and taken away, some of it I don't like and others I love, one thing I can say is thank you Walt and Roy Disney. Without the two of you, my favorite theme park would not have been created, you two deserve all the praise and accolades you've gotten over the years. I could not imagine a world without Disney and everything it has to offer. Thank you both for so many wonderful memories and so many smiles. ~All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.~ Walt Disney December 5, 1901- December 15, 1966 Roy Disney, (January 10, 1930 - December 16, 2009)~Just remember, it all began with a mouse~ R.I.P. and thank you.
Crazy Walt Disney failed over 300 times as entrepreneur and people told him that he couldn't draw or create now his empire basically owns the whole entire world 👌 R.I.P Walt Disney
I agree. I personally have seen the show and the acting and everything was kind of eyeroll worthy, but it's still nice that it's there for anyone who actually enjoyed the show, or is there for people who like the nostalgia of it all.
I love Epcot. But it really seems like it isn't exactly what Walt imagined. Oh well. Walt Disney was such an amazing man. Look at all the happiness he created. And Walt Disney World is the greatest place on earth. I work at The Disney Store right now and I do not plan on working for any other company ever again. One day I will move to the Lake Buena Vista area and get a corporate type job at Disney World and be very happy with life. Thank you Walt Disney.
+Charles Reinmuth (Chippy) Wow, that is cool to have a chance to go to the park. From Viet Nam and as a English learner, it always caught my attention whenever i heard an excellent voice like this. Just go to the end of the video and you will see the name of the narrator, Mason Adams :)
Disney would be proud of all the achievements his company has made however he would not be pleased with the pricing for his parks he wanted somewhere everyone could go with the family
Joey Pabalan oh really! Well I would consider my self middle class and we went once and the total was $5500. And we stayed at Fort Wilderness. It’s not affordable to everyone. And the cheap hotels closed because those that could only afford those couldn’t afford to travel there!

I'm heading to Magic Kingdom in a few weeks. Being a FL Resident, I go all the time, and every time I go, I just think to myself, Disney would be so proud if he were still alive.
+Judy Hopps/ Shiny Skies Hope you have fun. I'm going in June. I'm more of a Disneyland person. :)
Not with EPCOT... Thing's falling to pieces.
...not really, no.
Downlink Yes he would :)
I hope I can visit Walt Disney World. I live in California so I've been to Disneyland and I absolutely love it. Been a long time since I went last though. But I also want to experience Disney World. See Epcot, Animal Kingdom etc.
He not only made his dreams come true
He made all our dreams come true
And now with this virus...:'(
@@Angie2343 ya brought in by leftys
@@onlythewise1 Sadly, yes. Walt would, also, NEVER approve of his characters being openly bisexual.
@@Angie2343 he would if people approved of it but then men having to think of a guy sucking a guys dick was not a nice thought to have in Disneyland,
yea he is the main reason why I find pixies and Cartoon so nevermind too adult to talk about here
I'm so glad that they kept Walt's dream alive even after he died!
Man I love all the MGM Studios concept art and that model
This is great
My mother and father enjoy up growing with Disney over years back in 1982 until they passway we when 18 times to Walt Disney world we had good times!
I LOVE WALT'S IDEA!
thank u so much for uploading this.
Watching this in my hotel room at WDW. =0)
I cried when Walt passed. One of a kind ❤
Walt Disney will NEVER be dead thanks to his theme parks and being a positive visionary.
God bless to Walt Disney. One of the true greats of the entertainment world 🌹❤️
He would be proud of all the work and cartoons he did appreciate your style Disney cartoons are always a classic appreciate your style. Joe
I can imagine it must be fascinating to work there. This was a very insightful and interesting look at Disney World - thanks so much for posting this!
It was awesome working there.
What a great man
thank you so much for posting this! i had never seen this before.
truly a magical place.
Very entertaining. Thank you for sharing. 😊
So many great memories in this vid. I really miss imageworks. I really think they should modernize and reopen it. Thank you so much for posting this.
Its s shame that Walt's idea of EPCOT was never brought to light. They really took his idea and made it something totally different.
@@bcbock thanks for providing a helpful prospective in reference to Walt vision of EPCOT being a true reality.
Disney is joy always !❤🙏🌻
Walt was a true generous. Thanks for the great memories :)
Crazy Walt Disney failed over 300 times as entrepreneur and people told him that he couldn't draw or create now his empire basically owns the whole entire world 👌 R.I.P
Walt Disney
I agree. I personally have seen the show and the acting and everything was kind of eyeroll worthy, but it's still nice that it's there for anyone who actually enjoyed the show, or is there for people who like the nostalgia of it all.
Lovely little doc, thanks for the share! Distracted a little by the use of the UK Channel 4 News theme tune as a soundtrack in places though.
Thank you Walt Disney.
the voice of the narrator is so sweet... thanks.
I've heard this voice in the parks before. Any idea where? In DL, it could be the trams? Anyway, I agree. I love the narrator
Thank you +Đinh Quốc Huynh
The narrator is Casey Kasem
Nico Rijgersberg actually it's the voice of Paul Le Mat
What Roy Disney did to over see Disney world after his brother died is highly understated.
Amazing video, thanks for sharing!
Walt Disney = Genius!
Disney would be proud of all the achievements his company has made however he would not be pleased with the pricing for his parks he wanted somewhere everyone could go with the family
Everyone can go... What do you mean ?
He means Walt would have wanted everyone to be able to afford to go to the Disney parks instead of it being such a high price 😔
Its really not that expensive...
Joey Pabalan
oh really! Well I would consider my self middle class and we went once and the total was $5500. And we stayed at Fort Wilderness. It’s not affordable to everyone. And the cheap hotels closed because those that could only afford those couldn’t afford to travel there!
dodgeguyz right on...
