@@user-kd4uk6xx1dthat’s where his Female teammates come in, I also love how he grew to trust in his teammates instead of trying to constantly sacrifice himself after Wci. He trusts Nami and Robin enough to take care of themselves around enemies when he isn’t around. It’s also a great character moment for Robin as well cause she gets to repay Sanji for helping to save her in ennies lobby

pre-timeskip is overall more enjoyable and this is one of the reasons. nowadays there's too many characters and stuff happening so we barely see the crew having casual interactions and just having fun
Yeah there is a lot more characterization after the time skip it was more focused on plot. But you could argue it could focus on the plot, because the characters have been fleshed out enough
EXACTLY the reason I love pre time skip and feel like the anime vibe has changed after it. I understand that they have to cut this moments in order to finish the story before everyone dies but dahm I miss so much this moments, they gave a more realistic and adventureous vibe to the anime and made me feel like home watching it. Nice to see someone else likes it
Yea... I was chatting with my friend about that too, the vibe has changed entirely, and the curious thing is that nowadays the events and fights don't have the "impact" it had before 😢
Completely agree. Don’t get me wrong, one piece is amazing all the way through but post timeskip is all about plot developments and moving chess pieces on a board when it used to be a character driven story about a small group of pirates going on crazy adventures, which is WAY more entertaining. I just get kind of burnt out following one piece these days when it used to be a simple but really fun and exciting story.

Sometimes banter like that is just a sign you're comfortable with that person. If they _actually_ hated each other, they wouldn't be on the same crew.

Yes Sanji actually deeply respects Zoro, I remember in Thriller Bark I think it was Brook who said something around the lines of Sanji being as courageous as Zoro when they tried to take Luffy’s pain and Sanji said something like “don’t try to compare me to Zoro, you’ll make me look stupid”.

Because in Wano (maybe spoilers) Zoro and Sanji fights against King and Queen
Zoro is always careful not to hit Sanji by accident, same for Sanji with Zoro, while King and Queen hit each others and purposefuly
Showing that they cleary dont hate each others as much as they say, in contraste to King and Queen who just really hate each others. You can see a big difference between King and Queen together, and Sanji and Zoro together
Plus, Sanji trusts Zoro enough to ask him to kill him if he loses his mind. And Zoro trusts Sanji enough to sleep while Sanji fights while carrying him because he's injured.
I think they have a crazy good bond together, even if they deny it

In the manga the rivality is still going on
The fact that Zoro and Sanji called each other powerful before the timeskip is amazing, now after the timeskip, they both can solo the entire fleet of pirates
I swear they have the best dynamic in the crew. They are rivals and don't "actually" hate each other. Deep down they are best friends and brothers they never had (Zoro never had either and Sanji as well because he never loved his family). They have the role of the wings of the pirate king and fit this role perfectly. Zoro acts in the light so he is often directly approaching things and runs into fights while Sanji acts in the shadows and is more strategic about his approaches. Both are able to do that due to their strenght. And they speak up and agree to each other in very serious situations. And.... I just miss pre timeskip.... Romance dawn, Orange town, Baratie and all that stuff. Things were so much lighter. The crew felt like they had so much more fun. It all just felt so much more innocent and laid back. This is why I appreciate pre timeskip a lot. I miss it so much 😢
sanji is also very loyal to zorro he dont tell Ruffy what "not happend"!
He helps him in Wano.
Also in Enies Lobby they help each other. For my the only reason for their rivally both of the wanne be ruffy right hand and strongest in crew( without Ruffy)...
I miss these casual times of the crew. One of the main reasons I want to rewatch pre time skip is because of these wholesome times! Love them.
Some of the most 'enjoyable' moments that rarely gets noted or done today, are those 'downtime' moments, having them chat or do favours for each other. At least they praise each other's skills and tools for combat, motivating each other for further greatness.

@@brogeefrong this is a common misconception Zoro started to “hate” Sanji in Arlong Park after he tried to attack Nami thinking she had killed Ussop and Sanji defended her the two got into and argument and Sanji laughs at Zoro for his humiliating defeat to Mihawk and Sanji “hates” Zoro because of another argument between the 2 in Arlong Park where Zoro calls Nami a small fry and Sanji thinks he was talking about her 🍒

I’m rewatching One Piece and man, I miss how relaxed Zoro was in the first chapters. He looked like he was also having fun, while nowadays he looks more anxious (about being stronger and all that) than anything :(

One thing i love about one piece is that they take the opportunity during filler to show these little interactions between the crew that makes them really feel like a found family.

The comedy in pre time skip was hilarious. I also like the shift post time skip where they are still goofy, but it’s limited, as the stakes in the story get higher. Still plenty of goody moments of course just not as frequent as pre time skip
Zoro and Sanji actually have peaceful conversations when it's just the two of them with none of their crew around. Latest example was during Wano arc, when Sanji was wrapping Zoro like a mummy and Zoro actually laughed when Sanji said it was just like prepping a ham or something.
I love when Sanji starts to care of Zoro, when he jumps off the ship and wants to go sightseeing😂😂.He is like , "Hey Marimo hold on, where are you going to go?Do you even now where are we now?" , and after that Zoro starts to being angry with Sanjey
He even calls him zoro kunnnn hahaha!!
I think one of my favorite is where Zoro was fighting with the amnesia seahorse in water and after regaining their memories back, Zoro was still in the water and Sanji was like 'quick, get up or you'll catch a cold' mannnnnn it's filler but I just love the detail of Sanji and Zoro's friendship

The scene where Sanji fully trusted Zoro with Tashigi was nice too. I hope Oda will bring them back soon in Egg Head.

Deep down, Sanji and Zoro love and respect each other. They just express it differently on a day to day basis lol. Just like Sanji and Zef’s relationship, they loved and respect each other but expressed it by calling each other “brat” and “old geezer.” I love those relationships, and it’s so great to see the moments where the facade breaks.
I really hope we get to see one more Zoro full belly laugh before the end.

even though I miss the light hearted fun days, I like how pre time skip is like leaving childhood behind and then entering adulthood with post time skip and it makes sense to me, especially with what happened when they separated. They were at their most vulnerable and loneliest apart from each other and becoming strong by themselves can only make the group stronger when they reunite
don't forget Zoro and Sanji are real friends. they tease each other often, but remember thriller bark. Sanji was ready to sacrifice himself to save zoro life. and zoro refused.
Ahh the Water Seven Arc, nostalgic moments. Loved those episodes where it was more serious instead of the new ones being complete comedy

Tbh these filler arcs gave more personality to the characters than the canon. It's the casual interaction they had that made them feel like actual human beings. Idk why so many people skip fillers, I want to see them taking a break in new world lol
I love how carefree the crew is pre timeskip. But you can't argue why it's more serious now. The defeat in sabaody, ace dying and all that. I think stakes are higher in the new world since enemies are more stronger then before and just like zoro said. They're not little kids playing pirates.

Although many plots are only found in animation, I also believe that they are in line with their characters. It is precisely of they recognize and understand each other so that they often quarrel.
Antes las personas de la banda tenían mas tiempo en pantalla, ahora solo se puede mostrar lo esencial, para que el monton de personajes que aparece en cada arco puede aparecer, ahora es incluso difícil ver a toda la banda junta.
Porque estamos en medio de un arco, las cosas siempre han sido asi, momentos entre ellos solo han aparecido antes o después de un arco lleno de peleas y conflictos ajenos, la unica razon por la que se siente distinto es pq hemos tenido 2 arcos continuos en donde la tripulación no ha podido estar junta por razones externas
