      Almost the same goes for me, except the fact that I could hardly call myself an artist and I was curious about the process what would it take to create my own emotes as a fresh twitch affiliate. Awesome video and awesome (and of course cute) emote, tho. 😊

    I wish you’d walk us through every step. So what layers, what pens, what the thickness of the lines are, etc. I really struggle with having them look good from afar and I am not sure how thick my lines should be and how to change part of the lines’ colour. Or how you resize things and drag them to where you want or copy those squares. I’d love to know all of that ❤

    • @hexyraart
      @hexyraart  ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Hi! Sorry for the late answering! I made this tutorial to guide you on how to draw emotes but it's a general guide and not something too in depth. Tbh there are no strict rules about layers, line thickness etc cause it's more a personal choice! I personally use a single layer for lineart and then layers for base colours and shadow/light clipped above them! About thickness of the pen I don't really know ;o; I just increase and decrease brush size to my liking! To resize things you can go on 'edit' and click 'transform'!
      Hope this helps, wish you a great day!

    So what I don't understand is the different size options on the twitch emote resizer. Why have three different emote sizes? Why use the smallest one which is 28x28? Why not use the biggest one which is 112x112 and avoid having to basically do pixel art with the touch up on the 28x28 option? Do you use all three size options or do you only use the smallest one (28x28)? Are some for mobile users and some for pc users? I just seen a hand few of tutorials on how to draw twich emotes and I haven't seen someone have manually go in and touch up the smallest option. I have no clue about this type of stuff and I really need some help to understand please.

    • @hexyraart
      @hexyraart  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Hello! I'm so sorry for the very late reply, I haven't had the time to check YT lately ;v; by the way, you can use Twitch in different platforms as pc, mobile and TV, so the different emotes sizes are for each platform, the smallest emote size should be pc size. When you upload your emotes on Twitch, you can upload them manually or upload one (less than 1MB) and Twitch automatically resizes. I edit the 28px one cause sometimes when resizing the emote and making it small it loses details so i try to add them again in the editing process!! It's just my personal preference tho, not everyone does this!

    • @hexyraart

      Basically you create 2 canvases! One is 500x500px and the other one will be bigger (mine was around 3000px wide), when you work on the 500px canvas you fill it grey with bucket tool, then select the grey layer and copy it (you can use Ctrl+C or go to 'Edit' and 'copy') then go to the 3000px canvas and paste (Use Ctrl+V or 'Edit' 'Paste') and the grey square will appear! Then duplicate the grey square as many times as the emotes you have to draw! Let me know if you need anything else!!

    Hii hii,
    I made some emotes (I was half way but wanted to test them) and did the step for export but for some reason when I paste the emote in a 500 x 500 px file it doesn't paste in the middle and cut half the emote off. (Like some empty space on the top and left side and then the emote is just pushed in the right side and bottom and that side is just cut off.. Sorry I'm bad at explaining)
    The boxes are also the same size. (what I drew on and where I pasted it) I also tested with some other blocks with random scribbles and they didn't have that (did literally the same so I'm so confused)
    Maybe you know what I did wrong and how I can prevent this from happening? 🥲

      So, if you have to work on a SINGLE emote, create a new canvas in your art program, the canvas should be 500x500px. Draw your emote and when you’re done delete the background layer and DOWNSCALE it! Downscale manually (decreasing the resolution of the whole canvas) or save the emote in 500x500px (export to png) and use the site I used in this video! You can find the link in the description!
