yes! Use PNG to keep transparency! If you use JPG for example, even if you delete background layer, it's gonna add one once you export! Also PNG is recommended for files destined to be used online!
Hii hii, I made some emotes (I was half way but wanted to test them) and did the step for export but for some reason when I paste the emote in a 500 x 500 px file it doesn't paste in the middle and cut half the emote off. (Like some empty space on the top and left side and then the emote is just pushed in the right side and bottom and that side is just cut off.. Sorry I'm bad at explaining) The boxes are also the same size. (what I drew on and where I pasted it) I also tested with some other blocks with random scribbles and they didn't have that (did literally the same so I'm so confused) Maybe you know what I did wrong and how I can prevent this from happening? 🥲 Btw: Your emotes are stunning! Like everything is just *mwah* chef kiss. So clean and so pretty! 💕
Hello! First of all thank you so much for the compliments!!🥺❤️ And this happens to me a lot too! But don’t worry, if it happens move your emote with the cursor and put it in the middle or move with with keyboard arrows till it’s centered!! Idk why this happens sometimes but just move it! The emote is not cut but the parts are just hidden! Try it and let me know if it works🥺
@@hexyraart Thank you for helping and responding it means a lot! 💕Sorry didn't had any emotes anymore to try it on until now. @@lynniia if you clipped the emote to the gray square, when you paste to a 500px canvas, check if it's still clipped! Click again the clipping button! Cause sometimes it stays clipped and doesn't show cause there's no layer below!

@@Ailana10791 oh! You don’t have to upscale your emote! So, if you have to work on a SINGLE emote, create a new canvas in your art program, the canvas should be 500x500px. Draw your emote and when you’re done delete the background layer and DOWNSCALE it! Downscale manually (decreasing the resolution of the whole canvas) or save the emote in 500x500px (export to png) and use the site I used in this video! You can find the link in the description!

Then duplicate the grey square as many times as the emotes you have to draw! Let me know if you need anything else!!
Thank you very helpful
You're very welcome!!
You design this in which software??
Clip Studio Paint!
what program do you use?
Clipstudio Paint!
Do you do commission work?? Would you be willing to do a set of 8 twitch emotes?
Hi! Sorry for the late reply! I do but my commissions are currently closed, feel free to check my Twitter/VGen for updates!
shes so cute
Thank you!!!!
Hiii I love how u draw them Smm how would you do somthing with less detail like I’m trying too do a shark and since there’s no hair and the eyes aren’t super detailed I feel it looks lackluster 😭, just a question if there’s nothing too do I understand 😭,
Great video btw
hi there sorry for the late reply!! If it's something with less details then you can shade less than I did! Keep it simple, it's still good!
@@hexyraart aagh tysmmm this vid was so helpful too and dww I’m late too the vid so I wasn’t even expecting a response 🫶
your emotes are gorgeous! what pens are you using? where did u get them from? 😍
Tysm!! I use dense watercolor and transparent watercolor, i also use a brush from a brush pack I downloaded from Clipstudio Paint assets! It's called Ri brush pack!
@@hexyraart thank you! appreciate it
Me a non-artist trying to make on own emotes 😂 I’m delusional to think I can draw like you
You can do it!!! It takes time, patience and determination but everyone can learn! I wasn't always good at drawing! So yea don't give up and you'll see results for sure!
🍒 Dear, i'm curious to know how long you spend time drawing? How many hours? 😊
I spend minimun 4 hours a day! Then it depends if I can continue or not!
hey i still dont get it at the end of the video why we have to edit the emote at 28x28 px?? and after we modify it, what is it for? thank u
I’m going to do this for my next emote. I ran out of ideas so maybe I’ll use the work one. Not steal though just the work emote idea.
gl working on your emotes!!!
@@hexyraart thanks!
thanks
how to copy and paste layer to the bigger layer?
I have a big canvas open in one project and small canvas open in a second one, fill the small canvas with a color, select all, copy, then go back to the big canvas and paste!
Hii! I'm working on discord emotes atm and I was wondering if this tutorial also applies for discord emotes? Also I wanted to ask what size specifically do you use for the background?(like the white BG u put the gray emote boxes in?) Thank you!!
Hello! Yes it applies for discord emotes too! Discord emote size should be 120px!
For the background it depends on how many emotes I’m working on, for this video I used around 3000px I think?? You can always change your canvas size to your liking tho in the edit section!
@@hexyraart ohh so do I have to resize the 500x500 to 120x120 when I'm done or do I use 120x120as my actual emote canvas size then resize it to 32x32?(Because when I searched what size discord emotes are Google said 32x32) btw tysm 4 answering!!
@@lexy_nekogacha4822 you should resize from 500px to 120px! Discord allows emotes from 32px to 128px so I use 120px as standard size for discord emotes!!
@@hexyraart Thank UUU!! One last question, what layer type do you use for the coloring and shading/highlights? BC for some reason my blur/liquify/paint bucket and just some other stuff don't really work on vector layers?? Do I have to enable something? Sorry if I'm being a nuisance I'm really new to this stuff! DD:
@@lexy_nekogacha4822 it’s ok!! Feel free to ask anything!!
I use vector layer only for lineart! (Eyes not included)
All the other layers (base, shading etc) are raster layer! After I’m done with Lineart I rasterize it! (To raster right click on vector layer and select ‘raster’)
Liquify etc work only with raster layers!!
from the twitch template, how do you separate the emotes?
Hi! What do you mean?? I think I didn't get it;;
@@hexyraart when using the emote template, how do we separate each square into its own canvas? :0 do we just crop the square individually and then paste on the 500x500 canvas?
@@caitlyn86 what I do is I put all layers in a folder for each emote (ex. For hi emote I put all layers so Lineart, base colors and shading in same folder) and I merge the folder so it becomes a single layer, this way I’ll have a layer for each emote, then I select the emote I need to export, I use copy or Ctrl+C, I create a new canvas 500x500px and I paste or Ctrl+V! Sometimes the emote is not centered so I have to move it manually! I hope this helped! Let me know if you need anything else!
Can you do another tutorial how you draw a Chibi Emote 🥺 I wanna to learn it and your Emotes are so cuuuuuuute
Helloo!! Thank you so much!!;; Can you explain me what do you mean with chibi emotes?? These are already chibi emotes!

What drawing app are u using
Clip Studio Paint!
this video was super helpful! but I have a question about how you export the emote at the end.
I tried duplicating the folder and merging all the layers but it messed everything up, is there a different way to do it or did I miss something? TwT
Hi! Tysm❤️
Are you working on multiple emotes in the same canvas?? Can you explain more in detail?? I’ll try to help!!🥺❤️
@@hexyraart I am working with multiple emotes on the same canvas and I'm also working with csp but when I tried to do what you said it didn't work for me, when I copied the folder and merged all the layers in it, it just became a mess.
I figured out a different way to do it but it's much more complicated then how you explained in the video.
@@snowishelg4796 dm me in discord!! I’ll help you there so you can share me screenshots!!
just curious about the app you're using?
Clip Studio Paint Pro!
so like if u were commissioned to draw emptes, all u have to send is the emote in png file right? i wanna learn how abt it cos i wanna be a twitch emote artist as well
yes! Use PNG to keep transparency! If you use JPG for example, even if you delete background layer, it's gonna add one once you export! Also PNG is recommended for files destined to be used online!
just draw a white chunk of soy EMOTES SOLVED
LESGO
Hii hii,
I made some emotes (I was half way but wanted to test them) and did the step for export but for some reason when I paste the emote in a 500 x 500 px file it doesn't paste in the middle and cut half the emote off. (Like some empty space on the top and left side and then the emote is just pushed in the right side and bottom and that side is just cut off.. Sorry I'm bad at explaining)
The boxes are also the same size. (what I drew on and where I pasted it) I also tested with some other blocks with random scribbles and they didn't have that (did literally the same so I'm so confused)
Maybe you know what I did wrong and how I can prevent this from happening? 🥲
Btw: Your emotes are stunning! Like everything is just *mwah* chef kiss. So clean and so pretty! 💕
Hello! First of all thank you so much for the compliments!!🥺❤️
And this happens to me a lot too!
For some reason it cuts and I don't understand why 🥲 After I paste it and it's selected (only the box tho) it doesn't show the other parts that I drew anymore. So I prob have to just cut the canvas to the size or maybe you know what I did wrong?
@@lynniia if you clipped the emote to the gray square, when you paste to a 500px canvas, check if it's still clipped! Click again the clipping button! Cause sometimes it stays clipped and doesn't show cause there's no layer below!
Is it possible to order emotes from you?
Yes! My commissions are currently closed, you can check my Twitter/VGen for any info!
What size canvas do you use to place your emotes on?
To draw an emote i create a 500x500 px canvas! If I have to work on multiple emotes I create a big canvas (usually bigger than 2000px and paste a grey colored 500x500px layer in it (then I paste it as many times as many emotes I have to draw)
@@hexyraart So I followed this tutorial as best I could but for iPad, however I can't seem to upscale my drawing no matter what... I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. 😓

I'm not a designer myself but I want to make my own emotes. Do you have any tips on how I should do this? I understand that it might be a long process but any feedback is appreciated :)
please tell me this software name where twitch emotes are make .I am waiting for your reply

What did you use
Clip studio paint!!
the videos is good yes but i'm just having trouble drawing a single circle
Hello! I know I answered on Twitch but I'll reply here so other people can see it and find it useful!
I use arm movement instead of wrist to draw circles, I swear it's way easier! Grab your pen and move your arm to make a circle! Also practice a bit and you'll be able to make an almost perfect circle!
