Dick Clark shouting, "HURRY, HURRY" always added a huge degree of excitement watching these.

Definitely Nipsey & he. Had to know what to say & guide the contestant while under pressure with your hands strapped. (not easy) Cool under pressure key so the contestant could have an open mind.

I watched all the old pyramid shows back in the 80’S and the reruns on game show TV.....Nathan Cook was the best!
I always liked Nathan Cook. Good player at the game and seemed like a nice guy. I'm sorry to hear he passed away so young.

According to Wikipedia, Nathan Cook died in 1988 at the age of only 38. It said he died from a severe allergic reaction to penicillin. So sad.
Just recently started watching these old Pyramid shows. My mom loved this show and I actually tried out for it in the 80's. After watching, I look up the celebrity to see what happened to them. Very upsetting to hear what happened to Mr. Cook. These "snapshots" of moments in time, remind me to make every moment count. This contestant hopefully remembers him every day.

Nathan's clues were great... Other than numbers, I can't think of any other clue for "things you add".

Oh, yes indeed!!! I almost thought she wasn't going to get that "Things You Add" subject before the clock ran out. Those kinds of winner's circle wins are quite a nail biter. That's not the only one to have happened on the show, of course. ;)

Hard to tell about that clue. But when they came back to that subject, his clue was "Numbers", and she got it at the last second.
I had my volume turned all the way up, & could BARELY hear it!!!

On another note, would "2 and 2" be an acceptable clue for "Things you add"?

I'm sure it was a killer subject, but she got it in just in time. No contestant could definitely get it any closer than that.

I would think so; if Nathan had used that clue, it would have caused the subject to be disqualified (judges would have thought it would have been too descriptive).

Probably not, since "sum" is a synonym for "add". You could almost see the gears turning in Cook's head, clearly thinking the same thing. On the other hand, "mathematical numbers" would have been acceptable, and it would have got her thinking in the right direction sooner. (The benefit of watching a clip, rather than being there, doing it. 😹 )
things you add is a difficult subject, it hard to give a good clue other than "numbers"
@WavemasterAshi Yes. Saying 'and' actually mimics the word 'add'. You would be buzzed. How about 'eggs to batter'? Or 'a room to a house"? :D Tough category indeed!

For those of you saying that this $25,000 win was so close~~that's exactly what it was. There were 4 or 5 seconds left on the clock when the players came back to the subject that was passed on. Of course you knew that and saw that, so forgive me for putting this comment in. My bad. ;)
