N54 is honestly a bulletproof setup; these dorks just beat the shit out of them and never do maintenance of course an engine will fail in those scenarios. Take care of it and stay up on basics and you have a the best cost to power drivetrain possible imo
100% facts like teens kids and people who are poor can't afford keep up with them. I own a clean 750+ whp 335 no issues with 175k miles. Mint condition no hiccup at all.
Five years and 40k miles on 16t chinese turbos and no waste gate rattle 450 hp plus daily driver. Very fun and you don't have to change rod bearings 125k miles on stock N54. The 335IS should be considered as a future whip the DCT is an awesome transmission to drive. Excellent content love the channel
They don’t know how to do shit and end up with issues like this and want to come and say these are the issues just because they don’t know what they are doing , and the platform gets a bad rep ,i been doing this for years and my turbos never rattle
I think the CES bottom mount is one of the nicest single kits out there but for sound and engine bay looks, can’t beat the Doc Race top mount. 135i is clean bro, nicely done!
Yes it is! However, we dont have manifolds. And likely wont for some time unfortunately. Ultimately, thats what led me to go with DOC for now! I also want to see my turbo when I open the hood. lol
@@ThicWhips i have a 340 and im in california so the laws out here are outrageous but i regret not going top mount i went bottom mount and it has a heat shield so i cant barely see my turbo
Just watched the last video you had red door cards and were going S65, next video you got black door cards and going N54 single turbo... lol you're moving quick! My 2013 335is DCT is my daily, so I wanted response over top end so I went with DAW Flow Max + twins and port injection, no wastegate rattle whatsoever, awesome spooling sounds, small enough that with my mild tune im spooling at 2800, but big enough that theyll hit 800whp if you push them above 30psi. I think once i get a second car for a daily, maybe then ill push the 335is to be more aggressive and ill try a single turbo setup. The single turbos with the t51r mod sound unreal!
Man love the new content, have been a long time subscriber. One car I wish I kept was my 2011 335IS. The single turbo on the n54 doc race set up is clean. My buddy has one a 135i with it and over 130k miles still running strong making 700whp on e85
@@maziarzarea2540 I only did charge pipe, intake and down pipes with stage 2 tune. I had it about two years then sold it and got a 340i xdrive 6 spd manual with all m packages. I had that for about two years and now I currently just picked up a 2018 m2 lci 6spd and absolutely love it. I plan on building this to about 500whp.
My boy just finished his single turbo on his 335is and the whole single turbo install was such easier than a twins runs amazing he ended up going with the speed tech took him about 4 days with the install.
@@ThicWhips No complaints yet, Doc Vu tuned to about 22 PSI on 93 and it hits boost target without issues. I've added WMI so need to retune for that and then it should be making some good power.
Wanted a 1M but I think it’s a smarter move to get a 135. It’s all I’ve been thinking about since getting home from work. Now the hard part is finding one that I don’t have to get shipped.
That M1 clone is sweet bro. Has anyone crammed an S58 and AWD into a 1 series yet, particularly with switchable AWD/RWD? The 1 series would be an absolute rocket, even from dig if so, being so much lighter than the current M3s and M4s.
Pure Stage 2+ Hi-Flow turbos on my N54, no wastegate rattle. Maybe in the future with more use but for now on 22psi I’ve had no issues. The assembly is also much higher grade materials which may be why.
@@ThicWhips Are those turbos billet? I know most aren’t, pure thankfully went the extra mile but to your point they’re almost single turbo cost. I could have easily gone speed tech for what I paid. Definitely happy though, 550whp/535wtq is already too much for the stock rear end and very little lag by comparison.
John, FYI; at 14:00 where you are talking about Doc Racing and stopped at tgat light. On your right is an awesome Korean grocery store/market if you like Korean food. If you have not had Korean food, you should buy meat for Bolgoki and Carbi.... bean sprouts for sides, maybe Kimcie. You can buy ready made food for lunch/dinner at the market inside. You can TH-cam how to prepare the Bogoki and Carbi... I suggest cooking on the gril.... Bolgoki and Carbi are 2 of my favorite dishes.
This is what I was looking for. I know you said on the other post when I asked the question about those wheel/tire spec you said they are the same as the M3, but indeed you changed the tire size. You currently are running 255/18 in the front and 275/18 in the rear. So, you are not running the M3 spec which was 265/295 for the 1 clone. Now are you currently running spacers for the 1 clone with the 255/275? Thanks.
Did you ever do subframe bushings or m3 control arms in the rear? I did m3 RSFB and I’m going to do the revshift trailing arms and poly RTAB tomorrow to try and get rid of that soggy ass feeling. Then m3 CA
I have the M3 control arms all around. We built a 135 with complete SPL arms, bushings, revshift trailing arms and F8x Kw Clubsport coils all while using the 135 rear subframe still for a customer of ours at the shop and while it certainly helped...that solid rear subframe from the E9x M really makes a massive difference. For the cost as well, it makes sense for me to just convert everything over to E9x. This way I can run my E9X Ohlins all around as well as my F8X Brakes. I will then have the E9X LSD and the E9x Carbon Driveshaft. Its going to be a sick little setup!
I see you do a lot of the mods yourself from viewing your content. Do you do mods for pay for anyone needing some done to their Bimmers? I'm in the Huntersville area and got some projects I'd like to get done to my ride. I could do them myself but my problem is equipment issues to get the jobs done. Hit me up with some info where to go or if you're interested. I'm wanting to add some grille lights and rip out the side markers and replace with some LEDs to a 550i.
I was gonna say how can you say it falls off when you haven’t tuned it. You’ll run into the exact same situation with the single without a tune. Hardware is nothing without the proper software and vice versa
