    Follow these simple steps to get your RPG Maker MZ game running on your iOS Device.

    It's worth noting that plugin compatibility is going to be a significant issue for the majority of commercial games. My suggestion would be to test your plugins and custom features on phones as you develop your project.

    Can you modify battle system with rpg maker? I want to create a battle system where there is two phases to battle basically a attack and defense phase. So when you make your attack choice the enemy chooses a defense move to attempt to counter it and when your being attacked you can choose a defense move to attempt to counter it

      Sadly no, I don’t believe there is a way to make it full screen on mobile

    Question, so I NEED to deploy this FROM an Apple device in order to do have a Mac/iOS version?

      You do not need a physical device (iphone) in order to submit to the apple app store. You do need to have a Mac and Xcode to submit your project as it is all done through the Xcode environment. There is no manual upload of a .ipa to the app store.

      @@basimaziz no, you need a MAC computer and Xcode program to publish to iOS (iphone) , the RPG Maker MAC deployment does everything needed for the MAC desktop version.

    this guide worked great for me .. however i keep getting these errors inside of xcode (“missing entitlement”) . the game still runs though (with lagging on larger maps) . it doesn’t lag when play testing . I was wondering if you might be able to help me ?

      Hopefully this can help you out. It is most likely an xcode project issue and not a probably with your game.

    I"m a beginner digging into Spritekit and then came across this.. curious if you could use this example but on AppleTV w controller support..

      I'm not too familiar with developing for AppleTv. As long as AppleTV supports Safari theoretically it should work. As for controller support additional changes would be need to be done on the RPG Maker game prior to deployment to accept the new button input.

    I wish there were tutorials for exporting to Android. This has been an extremely frustrating journey

      I got close with Android studio! I even got the APK but it won't install, sad day

      @@BenGraceCreative the main issue that I've ran into is just trying to figure out how to use the Android studio to actually make a working APK file of the game I was working on. There's basically no tutorials on RPG Maker MZ for this. I found some stuff that says it works with MV and MZ but I had no luck, I've follow those instructions completely and have had no success. Ultimately, I gave up on my project, there is just not enough people that are still using computers today to play 2D RPG type video games, most the people who are playing these types of games play them on the phone.

      @@BenGraceCreative this issue is unfortunate, it seems like the added ability to make games transfer onto web/android/iOS should have been as simple as clicking a few buttons, instead we got a very flawed feature. There is another version of RPG Maker set to release this year, it implements the Unity engine which should make exporting games to different consoles/mobile much easier....hopefully. The new version is called RPG Maker Unite

    Do you have any info on optimizing / deploying games for web? i've tried deploying my game to web, but am using Tiled to create my maps (with visustellas plugin) and am getting an error that the web page (itch io) can't load my maps

      Ultimately you have to make changes to the plugin, there isn't anything you can do post or that Xcode can help you with as it only creates a iFrame for your game to play in.

      Sadly making an update to an external plugin probably isn't easy either.

    I'm having similar issues with audio not being played when I get the game running on my phone. It's odd because sound effects work fine. Music doesn't play for some reason. I have the same issues with safari browser. Do you think you know what I could be doing wrong?

      You will need to have both the .ogg audio files if you do not have them those should work for Safari Web browser. If you have those already try to deploy to MAC instead that will create a .app file that you can run directly on your MAC and see if they play for the MAC desktop version.

    This worked, thank you. The only problem I have is I have a localization plugin and the emulator said it couldn't find the js (localization file) when the file was there. It's weird.

      I plan on using a localization plugin. Which plugin are you using? Were you able to fix your problem?

      @@heroslegendstudios1658 I used DK localization plugin but I'm planning to use another plugin due to the issue and also DK plugin is a bit tricky to use.

    how do you optimize for mobile ? Ive been having lagging issues when on mobile and missing gif videos but when deployed as Mac OS version it works fine

      Mobile memory issues can come from anywhere and the best way to optimize is the same way you would for desktop. Find the places where your game most lags and determine is it due to animations, effects or coding errors. Most newer mobile devices should easily handle RPG Maker games

      @@heroslegendstudios1658 i think its the way that i built the game .. i have a time system and a hunger/thirst system that might be playing to my disadvantage , amongst other plugins/common events .

      Yes this is possible in MV, you would want to deploy to web not iOS or Android specifically

      Sorry no the submission process for apple must go through xcode so maybe find a buddy or rent a macbook
