Remarkable. Galuppi's minor mode compositions reminds me a bit of the style of C.P.E. Bach.

I don't hear it. Galuppi, like Vivaldi, has a style that is extremely distinct and uniquely Venetian. I can hear some smattering of Pergolesi and the Neopolitan school here and there, but never overpowering his own unique style.

The only way it is possible to appreciate Italian music seems to be according to certain people that it reminds one of this or that German composer. Grow up and get with it. Modern western music is Italy's gift to the world. And Galuppi is more proof of it. When Burney visited Italy in 1770, he thought that the four greatest were Galuppi, Sacchini, Piccinni, and Jommelli. One might therefore propose an alternative version of your statement: "Remarkable. C.P.E. Bach's minor compositions remind me a bit of Galuppi. Not nearly as good but not bad at all. Great try, C.P.E."
