I loved the 775s, had an E8200 for a damn long while (from around 2007 to 2015), and OC'd the shit out of it. It comes stock at 2.66Ghz clock speed, I had it most of the time at 3.6Ghz - *WITH A STOCK COOLER*. These processors were real fine, and with a few extra 120mm case fans I had it at 75c during prime, which worked great and stable for years like that. More than that, this lineup has a locked multiplier - I had to decrease the ratio from 4:3 to 1:1 on the RAM, but still - with such a high overclock I wound up having to OC my RAM as well - from 800Mhz to around 900. Luckily, that ol' PC came with some fine ass A-Data memory which a decent heatsink on it, and hence the DIMMs never got over the high 40's (almost never got to low 40's actually). I loved how simple it was. By comparison, overclocking my 6700k is a bitch. Oh - and boy did it help! I could barely play Crysis 3 or play C&C TW while mining scryptcoin and leaving a few dozen tabs open (ff) - with the OC everything went smooth (as smooth as a HDD only build can get). A bit frustrating how an unlocked CPU is more of a hassle to overclock than an older locked one, and the results are so much worse (with a newer rig you can't really feel the improvement).

the limiting factor here would be the DDR2 RAM, and please nicely correct me if I'm wrong, but I think most if not all DDR2 based Intel motherboards top out at 4GB of ram.

I got a i3 2120, 2GB of DDR3 1333MHz, it had no HDD, added 6 GB more DDR3 RAM, put a GTX 1050 Ti and a SSD and it's a nice gaming PC. (The i3 2120 PC was broken and I got it for $5.
The card is well below minimum requirements for the game, and I think the same goes for the CPU, so its not strange that the game wouldnt run. Minimum Req: NVIDIA 9800 GT 1GB, Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600.
Morpheas and that is really fucked up, as those were pretty much top of the line when the game came out. BTW it does run well on a better dual core and a proper vga, even from it’s time. A good core 2 duo and atleast a gtx 270 and it’s fine. Fine as in playable, ofc not 240fps maxed out.

That q8400 was my good old cpu that I had from 2009 until this year and never let me down. With a decent cooler and motherboard you can easily push that processor past 3.2 Ghz.
@Brian_44 that's nice. It does not change the fact that the service life of the electrolytic capacitors used in PCs is under 20,000 hours. Now a PC can still run with worn out filter caps in it. You can drive around on bald tires too. But the possibility that something catastrophic can happen increases. So folks that don't want to compute with a time bomb change their PSU out before it is worn out.

Usually I can find OEM systems of about this vintage all day for $50. Systems like the Lenovo ThinkStation S20 usually go for around $150, hard to beat a 6 core HyperThreaded system for that price.
i have a pc with these specs and two years ago i just bought and replaced the cpu with a core2quad clocked at 2.66ghz bought another 2gb of ddr2 ram and 120gb of ssd the cheapest i could get and a gpu from ati radeon hd 6850 with 1gb. i still have it as a media center pc and installed win7 with android 7.1 in dualboot. i still love it since it does everything without any lag.

Even tho 2core +4 gb ddr2 + gt240 is one reeally old combo you can still sell all that parts + mobo for 30$ for sure and you got yourself a 650w psu, 500gb hdd and a good looking case foe 20$ which is really good deal. Now you can add some newer used mobo with 4 core cpu or some i3 with 8 gb ram and some solid 2 gb ddr5 gpu for not alot of money. You can have a reeeally decent pc for under 200$ for A LOT of games 👍👍👍

Put a cheap Core 2 Quad CPU and a decent GPU in there and that PC will still perform quite well in MOBAs, older games and even some more modern games with low/medium settings.

You can actually see that the GPU and CPU still have a little bit of horsepower to spare. And yes, you can modify the FPS cap in the settings in rocket league. You should definitely set it at a very high limit to really bench the card without being limited by the game engine
I have almost 4000 hours in rocket league. Setting the max 250 does just that. Sets the maximum possible fps to 250. If your computer can only output 5 fps setting this to 250 isn't going to magically make your graphics card output 250fps it just sets the higher limit of what the game supports hope this helps xoxo
on DX10 cards you could try benchmarking S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat it's decently demanding so you might be able to push some of the older DX10 cards you come across (or even the weaker DX11 cards).

why not just use a vacuum instead of canned air or a bicycle pump. just make sure to have a brushy end on the vacuum. he static is actually caused by the dust moving fast over the surface so in reality pretty much every way of tackling the cleaning problem has its risk.

one of the best dual core socket 775 etc etc released in 2009... and in Q1 2011 2600k was released, and my 3770k gets a score of 5% less than a 6700k XD. Basically a cpu from 2011 is like 4 times faster than this one from 2009, but the cpu from 2017 is 0.1 times faster than the cpu form 2011 :D

I'm still rocking a Core2Quad 9400 with 16gb DDR3 ram, a GTX 760, a 1TB sata SSD and a 600w EVGA power supply in a very similar Cooler Master Elite Case! Hard to put it to pasture when it still runs perfectly!

Is called nvidia quadro nvs310/315 Specs 512mb ddr3 vram 48 cores gpu And is support dx12 Gen 2 pcie x16 lane Compatible with gen 1 slot but slower Only consume 20 watts! Edit:idk if its compatible with 32 bit machine but is was perfect combination with core 2 quad while q6600 had higher energy consumption

Motherboard is semi decent, I dislike the Raid Function it has, since it's not that good compared to the built-in DELL stuff (at DELL Motherboards) .... I've had several of these boards now, you can get them for 10~20 euros, some with cpu+ram and others just the board. I have a old intel Core 2 Quad w/5GB of DDR3 that still runs. I threw a GTX 1050ti in it and I can play Doom, Shadow of Mordor, Rocket League and Overwatch all at 60 FPS on mid-high settings. Why, quad core is still quad core. But just last week I moved onto a Ryzen 1700 and damn this cpu is a monster. Cant wait to put a RX580 or GTX 1070 in it. PS, I dont have to pay markup for the GPUs

LOL Someone dumped an old PC with that exact same case, in silver, not black, in the parking lot at work. I scooped it up and pushing the power button did nothing. Opened it up and jumped the power switch connecter on the mobo and it booted right up. i5 26 something or other, 600 watt Ultra PS, 2 2 gig Ram sticks, 2 250 gig HDDs and no GPU running Windows Server 2003. Nothing special, but for free its not a bad deal. Im very leary about the HDDs, I have no idea what kind of horrors are stored on it, Im very worried that 5 minutes after getting it online the FEDs will be knocking on my door. Ill get some sort of HDD wiping software on a USB drive, wipe the drives and get a more modern operating system on it, I plan on adding more RAM and starting up an Ark server.

since you got a sli motherboard and a 650w psu you could throw pretty much any 2 modern gpus in there and have el cheapo minero.
now pop a 771 Xeon in there, overclock it to 4ghz, upgrade the graphics card, and you have something really decent for not much :)

I'm pretty sure you can do more RAM than 4, so long as you have a 64-bit OS. Most DDR2 era systems were sold pre-bundled with 32-bit.
my old core 2 board, Gigabyte EP45-DS3 supported up to 16gb of ddr2, also theres some core 2 boards that even support ddr3

did you make sure that you were running gta 5 in dx10 mode and not dx11? I know that the 240 will not run dx11...

Usually I can find OEM systems of about this vintage all day for $50. Systems like the Lenovo ThinkStation S20 usually go for around $150, hard to beat a 6 core HyperThreaded system for that price.

i have a pc with these specs and two years ago i just bought and replaced the cpu with a core2quad clocked at 2.66ghz bought another 2gb of ddr2 ram and 120gb of ssd the cheapest i could get and a gpu from ati radeon hd 6850 with 1gb. i still have it as a media center pc and installed win7 with android 7.1 in dualboot. i still love it since it does everything without any lag.

Even tho 2core +4 gb ddr2 + gt240 is one reeally old combo you can still sell all that parts + mobo for 30$ for sure and you got yourself a 650w psu, 500gb hdd and a good looking case foe 20$ which is really good deal. Now you can add some newer used mobo with 4 core cpu or some i3 with 8 gb ram and some solid 2 gb ddr5 gpu for not alot of money. You can have a reeeally decent pc for under 200$ for A LOT of games

RPM that motherboard supports quad core cpus (intel core 2 quad) and it's a pretty high end one. It even supports SLI
Upgrade the CPU to a Core 2 Quad Q6600 and then OC it, upgrade the RAM to 8gb, and upgrade the GPU to anything relevant but cheap (List of good GPU upgrades ranging from $30 to $130 that will work well: GTX 480, 570, 580, 590, 660 (Ti), 670, 680, 690, 750 (ti), 760, 1030, 1050 (ti), HD 5850/70, 5970, 6870, 6950, 6970, 7850, 7870, 7950, 7970, R7 260 X, R9 270 (X), R9 370 (X), RX 460, RX 560)
Switch the CPU for a g4560, stick a Gtx 1050 in there and you got a capable gaming pc.

You can actually see that the GPU and CPU still have a little bit of horsepower to spare. And yes, you can modify the FPS cap in the settings in rocket league. You should definitely set it at a very high limit to really bench the card without being limited by the game engine

I have almost 4000 hours in rocket league. Setting the max 250 does just that. Sets the maximum possible fps to 250. If your computer can only output 5 fps setting this to 250 isn't going to magically make your graphics card output 250fps it just sets the higher limit of what the game supports hope this helps xoxo
on DX10 cards you could try benchmarking S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat it's decently demanding so you might be able to push some of the older DX10 cards you come across (or even the weaker DX11 cards).

why not just use a vacuum instead of canned air or a bicycle pump. just make sure to have a brushy end on the vacuum. he static is actually caused by the dust moving fast over the surface so in reality pretty much every way of tackling the cleaning problem has its risk.

Go to options then video in rocket league and in the bottom left corner you will see a framerate slider, the limit is probably set at 64 fps

one of the best dual core socket 775 etc etc released in 2009... and in Q1 2011 2600k was released, and my 3770k gets a score of 5% less than a 6700k XD. Basically a cpu from 2011 is like 4 times faster than this one from 2009, but the cpu from 2017 is 0.1 times faster than the cpu form 2011 :D

The simplest PC case you can get is without a Doubt the NZXT S340. One of the best looking case ever made IMO
Motherboard is semi decent, I dislike the Raid Function it has, since it's not that good compared to the built-in DELL stuff (at DELL Motherboards) .... I've had several of these boards now, you can get them for 10~20 euros, some with cpu+ram and others just the board.

I have a old intel Core 2 Quad w/5GB of DDR3 that still runs. I threw a GTX 1050ti in it and I can play Doom, Shadow of Mordor, Rocket League and Overwatch all at 60 FPS on mid-high settings. Why, quad core is still quad core. But just last week I moved onto a Ryzen 1700 and damn this cpu is a monster. Cant wait to put a RX580 or GTX 1070 in it. PS, I dont have to pay markup for the GPUs

LOL Someone dumped an old PC with that exact same case, in silver, not black, in the parking lot at work. I scooped it up and pushing the power button did nothing. Opened it up and jumped the power switch connecter on the mobo and it booted right up. i5 26 something or other, 600 watt Ultra PS, 2 2 gig Ram sticks, 2 250 gig HDDs and no GPU running Windows Server 2003. Nothing special, but for free its not a bad deal. Im very leary about the HDDs, I have no idea what kind of horrors are stored on it, Im very worried that 5 minutes after getting it online the FEDs will be knocking on my door. Ill get some sort of HDD wiping software on a USB drive, wipe the drives and get a more modern operating system on it, I plan on adding more RAM and starting up an Ark server.
