    Personally, I say definitely make the switch. I have always been interested in those wall mount style cases. Bitwit built his personal rig in a similar case and mounted it on the wall a while back. I think it had a 6900XT or a 6950XT. It looked really good. Otherwise, I would suggest the Tower 300, but it seems like you like bigger cases. In that case, you could do the Tower 500 or the Tower 900 and do a dual loop. Also, Thermaltake has the Core P3 TG Pro which is a similar ish style to what you are considering.

      Thanks Erock, yeah I remember that bitwit build. Specifically the video about the failing Phanteks PSU he had (ran into something similar with a customer).
      The p3 is cool, just a very popular case which I am sorta tryna avoid haha.
      That Inwin Tou case, they only made 500 😬

    Montech case looks nice, think it would look nice with some white lights, kinda like a frosted look but not to bright, instead of rgb.

      Yeah, I really like that case. Hopefully they drop soon, and it doesn't disappear, or end up in Asian markets only.

    Thermaltake has the core P6 and the core p8.
    I have the core p8 which is freaking massive! No seriously, it weighs 50 lb with nothing in it.
    The P6 however, is more contemporary sized.
    The reason why I bring them up is one of their options for setup is a open air wall mounted system. I didn't do that, but it's one of the options available with it

      How long before we get some manufacturer capable of drilling holes in TG so when you mount a GPU vertically it isn't pushing hot air against glass with 1mm clearance.

    Can't go wrong with the aesthetics that an open case bring. Likely would build in one myself when I do build my next computer. It just has the type of feel a system would have when in the hands of someone versed into tech 👀. I say go for it if it isn't any trouble!

    Good timing on this video. I just swapped out my personal case as well from a phanteks enthoo pro to the nzxt H6 Flow(black). The msi gaming trio/x 4090 card just barely fits in the phanteks but comfortably fits in the h6 flow. The 12v cord is bit closer but still allows for the bend to be really far away from the plug. All noctua chromax too but Im thinking about ordering a printed 4090 shroud for the msi trio version to make it a noctua 4090 to match

    Any case needs space for airflow and FOR YOUR HANDS! im sick of calling my girl whenever i need to plug a tiny fan into a tiny port that's obstructed by my case. That's why im now looking at some fishtank cases to fix this issue and get better airflow MAYBE.

  • @TrusteftTech
    @TrusteftTech 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I am guessing they were going for something which sounds like "pain", but don't quote me on that.
    One thing I HATE about any case which needs assembly is what happens if you need to ship the computer somewhere? The box the PC case that came in is as useful as a 3D graphics accelerator card in running Darklight Conflict.
    I have to admit, for what it is, it is a good looking case. Definitely not for me, but it is good looking. Perhaps if it was orange or chrome orange it would look even better. By perhaps I mean as with everything else in life, definitely.
    I will tell you one thing man, as much as I like and respect you, our taste in PC builds (looks) couldn't be more different lol.
    Bless you man.
    To answer your question(s).
    Obviously due to personal taste, I wouldn't change from a more traditional case to this one, so between the two or even others and a similar to this case, I will always choose the "proper" one. The closed one that can be shipped, that can withstand an accidental hit and that it won't be filled with dust in the first 5 minutes.
    Regarding changing the inside hardware, as long as we are talking about your personal system, I guess it depends on when you plan on changing to the next generation of hardware which apparently is not THAT far away. If you are 100% change to the next one when that comes out (late this year, next year), I would stay with the current internals. Though as you know the 4090 I would never accept for both the power consumption and the risks associated with it.
    If as you mentioned you also have future content creation in mind, then I think the answer is quite clear. You need to get a Ryzen system.
    BUT, again for personal system I (and it is just me), never ever ever in my 30 years of owning IBM-PC compatibles liked keeping the same case when upgrading or building a new PC. Even the few times that I did, it always made me feel...dirty inside and just bored with it sooner than it should. I don't know if that makes sense and if deep down you are like that.
    To the other question, I don't really have any suggestion for a PC case for you. I wish I did. As I am sure I have mentioned before, not exactly in a position to get anything so more "window shopping" is not helping me lol. Plus, while I do have some PC cases "saved", all of them are quite old by now and I doubt you would be able to find them new, even if you liked them. Highly unlikely as mentioned before :p
    *5 minutes later*
    OK I am back with a small list of cases I saved, just in case I help you out a bit.

      @techwandoUS  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      10 out of 10 comment right here haha. We definitely have some different styles, that being said I actually like the more industrial box look as well. I am a bit of a floater when it comes to design. Or like an all Noctua build, wood, retro...
      really anything tbh.
      You are totally right about the flat pack stuff too, makes the box completely unusable after the fact.
      Seems like most people say to save it for a Ryzen system, so I'll probably end up doing just that.
      Thank you for all the other case suggestions too, I actually love the Fractal Pop cases.
      Most of them I pick I have to think of what radiator support they have, most likely I'll be doing some kinda loop for at least the CPU to extract the most performance I can get from it.

      I actually like the fish tanks haha, I just am too late to the game and they are so popular that I would be doing an injustice to the Inwin Tou 2.0 if I swapped it for something kinda (for lack of a better term) generic. The silver montech case does look different. Looking back at it though, I'm a little worried about the radiator space. Appreciate the comment Chris.

      This is why I'm going to see if I can look at the MSI Pano in person as it looks easier to build in than the Zalman. The MSI also supports all types of MATX including back connect. This is great as I will probably go with back connect when I inevitably switch fully to AMD. I suspect I upgrade from my 13700k before I replace my 7900xt. The new case looks lovely. But a pc is a pc and not a work of art. I would only use these cases for low power parts that are silent even under load. There is no airflow over the motherboard, no fans pushing air to the parts. Besides this there is no isolation for noice. Something like a rtx 3080 or better already makes a ton of noice by itself. I think i would get annoyed with performance of parts and noice.

    • @techwandoUS
      @techwandoUS  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A lot of good points made here, the dust build up also...
      I think it's mostly for ease of swapping parts. I would also build a top mount for some fans, it would turn really custom pretty quickly.
      I think based on many comments, I'll probably wait to use Ryzen and start a new PC in that case or something new.
      As for noise, I am in the same boat. Silence is everything.
