CAT dozers have ridiculously good heat. I work on lots of dozers, and within 10 minutes a really cold day, I've almost got heat all the way off because it works that good.
I’m curious what the snow is being moved for? I can understand for a run way or to clear out for some sort of established building site etc, but just curious what this is for?
I was under the impression that Antarctica was supposed to be and stay an untouched land of pollutions etc. Meaning all pee and poo gets taken back and no gas or oils to pollute the land to keep it in a 100% natural state for a lifetime of studying?
The Antarctic treaty which Australia helped create sets Antarctica aside for Peace, scientific research and no mining. We do remove all of our waste, human and otherwise. Unfortunately Antarctica is a harsh continent and you need machines like this to support the Stations required to do the climate change research and studies on wildlife etc. We are extremely environmentally conscious and endeavour to keep our stations and camp areas pristine.
The plane flies in to bring fuel for the Cats so they can make a runway for the plane to land
The circle of life.
I like the clear sky days totally awesome scenery. Surprisingly relaxing to watch.
Cab heating must be good. Working in a tshirt.

If I was a pilot that has to use that runway you guys would eat steak dinners every day!! 💯💯💯🥶🥶🥶

Disregard I see now it’s for a runway.
Great tune 👌
Congratulations on your first 1000 subscribers.
Thank you very much!
Keep going, the gravel will appear from there sometime. 😉
Hahaha, glacier is about 500m thick here, would be an impressive slot!
Looks like a speed dozer would come in handy with that long of a push??
Thanks for the post!!
Great videography!
If the snow in Antarctica is three miles deep how do you know when to stop?? That's crazy!!
It gets harder I'd guess.
This is on a glacier, so solid ice, we're just pushing the snow off the top of the ice, gives us a good surface to work too.
now, how does one go about getting a job like that down there?
Rockin' all the 36SQN merch.
The 36SQN Crew set us up well, mad respect!
Cracking tunes!
Do you ever lose track of where the runway was??
Easy to do in poor visibility, but we have GPS in the cab to keep track of where we are and our direction.
Why slot doze?
cool
😎👍
Нереально круто

Another good video destroyed by music.
Suppose we'll ever see all electric cats working 9n them conditions... guessing not
