Paul Budnitz is the founder of Kidrobot, the world's premiere creator of art toys, apparel and accessories. He also owns and runs Budnitz Bicycles, two technology companies, is the author of several books for adults and children, exhibits and a photographer and filmmaker, and speaks extensively on creativity worldwide. Budnitz has founded over a dozen companies.
Budnitz designed or art directed virtually every product created by Kidrobot from the company's inception through 2011. Budnitz's original designs include Dunny with Tristan Eaton, Munnyworld, the Kidrobot series, and many others.

Recombinant culture. Plastic DJs. Sampling. I feel like this has been being done fora bit too long now. It was cool at first, but now I don't find it terribly deep.
Does it ever feel like our culture is spiraling in on itself? Just mix up the pop culture shit we already know, don't do anything new. Safety in nostalgia. I dunno, it's kinda screwed up.

A lot of designer toys look edgy and honestly so simplified it's boring. I feel like the importance of the toy is play, and the playability of designer toys is low. You can't really dress them, have them hold accessories, and the only gimmick they come with is visual and not super interactive. imo, the importance of toys is to imagine through play, and yes playing with a toy as an adult seems really stupid, but even dressing and posing toys in scenes is playing. Buying something just so it sits on a shelf might as well call it a paperweight.
I agree with that. That's why I'm making designer toys you can play with. I'm making chibi Lovecraft minis that you can use with a card game and is a dexterity game. You have to capture them with a ring that you toss onto them and use them to fight other players.
