Orlando Canizales - Is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1984 to 1999. He held the IBF Bantamweight title between July 1988 and December 1994. He is the younger brother of fellow Bantamweight world champion Gaby Canizales. Both brothers obtained the title of world boxing champion at the same age and weight. Orlando tied the division record for consecutive title defences at 15 set by Manuel Ortiz. Canizales was an excellent fighter who used creative angles and shifts to confuse his opponents. He retired with a professional record of 50-5-1 (37 KO's) and was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame on July 14, 2009.

Canizales was magnificent. He's the only fighter I've ever seen that could circle away from a southpaw's power hand as easily as orthodox. Modern boxers don't even try because they've never been taught footwork.
Exactly fam or they don’t take the time to learn on they own I box too and I always take time out my day to learn these important things
And in my case, many boxers focus on punching form and head movement instead of footwork. As a 202 pound guy with natural power, proper footwork and form can x2.5 what's already there.
Thus I became a student.
We got lomachenko now
One of the best Bantamweights of all time!
I LOVE YOURE CHANNEL..
THANK U FOR THESE NICE VIDEOS..
@Justin Richardson Yep, would like to know this remix also. Best one I have heard yet!
Hooooly shit. Never heard of this guy before I saw your videos. WOW! He is one of the best boxers I've ever seen. Should be more widely recognized!
one of the great stylists of the last 30yrs smooth as butter hard as nails well underated.another great vid love this channel man
Lateral Shuffle 0:33 0:50 1:16 1:33 1:46 2:31 and 1:40 in Poetry in Motion
I'm absolutely amazed that nobody does this anymore. People can say Lomachenko does but nowhere near this perfectly. This is art.
Orlando Orgullo Chicano 🇺🇸 🇲🇽
I could watch him box for hours
Le Duc You never see such poetry in MMA
alex campbell stop hating on mma fool
alex campbell maybe because mma has a different approach?
@@nzrdb6 adesanya has great head movement
Always loved his footwork.
fluidity.....smooth, one of my favorite fighters of all time!!
Dude is so smooth with it... He weaved and came back with some good counters and he worked those angles the guy was a beast
You can't teach that... God given natural grace and beauty 🙏🏿
I think this is the best video you ever made mate...there have been some great ones, to be sure, but this one for me, is the best.
Huge respect for all your great work.
Very skilled and underated, yet another very good highlight from you.
Sin duda el mejor Mexicoamericano mis respetos.
The greatest boxer you NEVER heard about
Boxing poetry at its best ! Perfect fighter !
Before lomachenko there was Orlando Canizales
yes, but he is not a White, therefore he is worth less according to a certain power! yes but he is not a white , therefore he is worth less according to a certain power, like any other field in this world.
was just about to say, ppl think Loma is a first, a one-of-a-kind
also, this guy packed a punch, Loma doesn't. he's pitter-patter-boxing
If he's not white then what is he?
@@ikapatino3214 he Mexican American .or are there many canizales in Ireland
His ability to move in and out is god damn amazing.
este tipo no camina flota en el ring! excelente!
This video is crazy good.
Orlando & the smooth beat
0:42 duck, pivot and gets out so good.
Best boxing 🥊 videos on TH-cam
I loved watching Orlando fight. He was a master, and a hell of a puncher too. That was back when there were great fights to watch without having to sell your house to watch them.
DAMM...this boy is a PHANTOM!!
At the 0:33, 1:32 and 2:18 marks we can see an amazing body movement that nobody does in today's boxing.
It's absolutely mind blowing that nobody is teaching/practicing the "sidestep" in order to plant their feet for a hook as done here by Canizales. Why is that?
The opponents has two options when you do that, he/she can follow your movement by coming towards you, which leaves them at a disadvantage because they were not planning it as you were, so you're a train of thought ahead of them - meaning they are not acting on thought but rather instinct - or they can stay/retreat from it which most won't do since it's not the "normal" thing to do under the circumstances. At which point you have the total upper hand. If the opening arises you throw a hook, if it doesn't, you formulate your next move while defending yourself. Why is this a lost art?
Please do correct me if I'm wrong because I would love to see an up and comer moving this way. I just can't say I have.
Lomachenko is the only one with similar movements
Pac? He uses more straights but he switches angles quick.
@@LivefromtheNorth - Pac does but not to this extent. Other than Loma, I don't see anyone else doing anything like this.
Usyk?
my personal favourite at bantamweight is Oliveres but Canizales definitely one of the greats of the division too
2:17 is what made me pay very close attention and become a student of footwork. That was beyond boxing when I saw this.
loma learnt from him. all great fighters box like this. truly technical
At 1:07 Orlando Canizales fights Orlando Canizales
Man this guy boxes beautifully! He was a god in the ring.
I love you and your channel
I appreciate it mate, glad you enjoy.
This dude was slick!!!
amazing boxer
Me toco verlo excelente boxeo un rolling muy bueno mis respetos gran campeon
So calm.
That footwork and chilling the whole time
Ahhh. I see so he's the o.g mr. Blind spot. Before loma.
amazing boxer Master class.
Wow this guy is great
Pride of laredo tx 🙏
My coach told me about orlando c.. this is pure beauty ❤
Sounds like your coach has great taste in fighters!
Pure gold.
Estos son los tipos de boxeadores que motivan a cualquiera
In the pocket … smooth , cerebral … seriously great fighter
Before lomachinko...there was Orlando
What a magnificent skillset
When Boxing was fun to watch
Canizales is the most beautiful boxer I've seen. He is the best for me because he just boxes. The others boxe a little, hold their opponent too often, step back too often.
Lo mejor .saludos orlando
I think success leans towards boxers who are in total control of their range. Outside you're cool, once in you're down.
Mucho parecido al estilo de Salvador Sanchez. Grandes los dos🥊🥊
Nice music
My gawd, never heard of this boxer, and I scour the historical records looking for the hidden gems. This man had some very slick movement! I'll never understand why they call them technical boxers when it's just being smart. Unless you're someone like Erislandy Lara or Whitaker...which, well, looked more like a guy on a scooter.
What's the music in the background
Soul Pandemia - The Love I Need
Beast!🥊
People think Loma is something they've never seen before I always tell people you must be a new boxing fan because Canizales has been there done that!
saudações do Brasil
He’s a beast
Awesome footwork, and nice video. Where do you find the music for your videos? Or what is the Genre of that type of music that has an old school jazzy, hip hop type of feel to it? I noticed that I like the majority of the music you include in your videos and would like to find more.
To be honest I don't know what that specific genre is called but I use a lot of trip hop in my videos. Mainly it's either hip hop, trip hop or dramatic music. I'd recommend listening to Monomone or Neroche to get you started.
Cheers man, I'll check them out.
The original matrix
Dude is it just me of does he remind me of lemachenko?? I mean I know lemachenko might b faster n all but this dudes footwork is top notch
David Caporal I thought the same thing, both have such beautiful footwork
Thats what I thought when I saw Loma for the first time... His footwork is similar to Canizales
Marcio Antonio Alvarez Baldelomar
I don't think so, Loma is definitely faster but Orlando hits harder.
But better than Lomachenko and with power shots. I didn't believe the OG's and older boxers at first when they told us they've see Lomachenko style before and someone else did it better with more power. Then I seen Orlando Canizales and fully believe that these OG's weren't bs'ing and he really was better than Loma.
Man that's what the OG's tell me and I didn't believe it at first but after I seen him I realize that they're actually right and he had power that Loma doesn't have as well from those pivot shots.
It’s like Tyson or Cus saw a tape of Canizales and said
“that’s how you never lose a championship like Floyd did. You’re strong enough and agile enough for a heavyweight to where you can increase your angles😏😤”
The greatest
Homie loved those blue trunks.
Love the video, thanks for sharing.
A coach at the gym told me to study him, never heard of the guy before and wow!
Do you know how I can fin this exact version of the song? Great selection and beat.
Namaste 🙏

1:07 mirror match?
lomachenko how??? this is the real deal
Loma who ?
Se parece al estilo del bam Rodríguez
Loma before there was Loma
No unifications, no more weight classes. Only defends against mediocre boxers from the IBF, that's why nobody remenbers this man sadly.
Ouch
@metalwawi0313 not a bum, but he's another forgotten champion
Like loma but...some how better
Loma took canizales style but if they were both to fight against eachother at their prime. Canizales would beat him easily.
@@sonnyvernis8675 Lomachenko is the naturally bigger fighter of the 2. Weight classes exist for a reason and despite Canizales having tremendous talent, he didn’t do so well when he moved up to Super Bantam and Featherweight.
The Mexican Lomachenko xd
@@windycity08 bro just say that you prefer to watch Canizales over Loma cause Loma ain't no bum.

Sergio reyes best him with only 11 fights
Yes Sergio did.I was there and can recall the silence of the Laredo crowd as Reyes support from Ft. Worth and Austin counted every round won that day..
Reyes did beat him but Canizales was past his peak. He actually moved up in weight right after that fight and was never quite the same.
