    Yep. Green beans are great for gardens and are easy to grow and gives quick return for effort. You have to check plants and crops daily to ensure you get them before the pests or animals do. Good harvest.❤❤❤

    A couple of tips: Be sure to add water soluble calcium with epsom salt. The balance of cal/mag is crucial. Calcium is the most important. Mag should not be added often. Once or twice a year. Fish hydrolysate is much better than fish emulsion.

    • @MarlenesHomeandGarden
      @MarlenesHomeandGarden  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @laneeacannon1450 Welcome! Agreed, the Ca and Mg balance is important. Especially regarding blossom end rot in tomatoes. I was hoping to do a video on how to add eggshells. We'll see. Thanks for watching. Happy Gardening. 🌿 🌼

    • @laneeacannon1450
      @laneeacannon1450 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MarlenesHomeandGarden Thanks! Yes, since shells take years to break down, the best way to incorporate eggshells is to make WSC (water soluble calcium) to make it plant available. Toast shells, crush and add to vinegar, let sit for a week and strain. Dilute the liquid as needed and water in. This is a natural farming technique that works really well. Happy gardening 🤗🌻

    Hello, I am a new subscriber in Zone 9a California. I have been struggling to get my green beans to germinate. Do you think it’s because it’s been over 90 degrees for the past 6 days? I am planting Contender, Provider and Blue Lake, they are all bush variety. I have 3 raised beds dedicated to beans, I want to grow enough to can. Thanks so much and your garden is beautiful. 👩🏽‍🌾

    • @MarlenesHomeandGarden
      @MarlenesHomeandGarden  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @IcedCoffeeCrush Welcome to my channel. Sorry to hear about your beans. Yes it may be due to the high temperatures. It could also be planting deeper than 2 inches, having the soil dry out completely or waterlogged. Beans are best as direct sows but maybe you can try planting in part shade containers and transplant after about 5 leaves have appeared. Best wishes with your garden. 😊

    • @MarlenesHomeandGarden

      @atempereddream It would be in the International Market. They call it malanga, in Jamaica where I grew up we call it Coco. Same family as Elephant Ears but edible. 😊
