- This is a review of the Axis Cover I purchased with my Master Spas H2X Challenger 15D Swim Spa from Leisure Works LLC in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
This is my second video that discusses issues with this cover, and here I go into the details of why I would recommend staying away from this product and these companies.
You can see my first video on the problems with the swim spa here: • Master Spas H2X Challe...
It's not just the shelf. We've had this cover for 5 years now and, while it does a good job keeping our pool insulated from our harsh Canadian winters, there are a lot of problems. First off, it has no grading, so snow and ice sit in the grooves and don't drain. This causes staining and makes the inside dirty as you roll it open. To combat this, we are constantly blowing off the water, shovelling off the snow, hosing and brushing the dirt off the top before we use the pool. Secondly, ours has shrunken so that the corners no longer fold over to form a nice seal. As we come to five year-mark, the handles have broken and the edges are fraying. I wouldn't be surprised if we have to replace it in the next year or so. I can't really recommend this product either.
We have the same spa and having similar issues. Master spas and Leisure World in Cleveland have been brushing us off for past year. We did not put a shelf on ours, but the metal plate to tighten it has come undone like yours. Definitely expected better service from both with the price we've paid. Let me know if there's anything we can do to help your claims. We're in Ohio
Sorry to hear you are having issues as well. I was finally able to get mine resolved directly from Master Spas. The dealer in Michigan, Leisure Works, was horrible and in their response to the Better Business Bureau, they said they would provide a letter from Master Spas saying I don't need a shelf which contradicted the manual. I informed Master Spas that Leisure Works had implicated them in fraud, and my issue got escalated to the head of customer service, and they sent out a team with all new parts to fix what the dealer had screwed up.
I was happy that Master Spas stepped up and resolved the issues, but I have seen complaints in several forums about unscrupulous dealers really treating customers poorly. I think Master Spas makes a good product, but I don't think they do enough to enforce quality standards in their dealer network, and their customer service department tends to stand behind the dealers. I think their products are pretty good if you are lucky enough to get a good dealer. The Axis cover has some design flaws that I think they should resolve.
I would try to push your issues up the customer support chain at Master Spas. If you can get to someone high enough in the organization, hopefully, they will resolve your issue. Here is a link to my updated review: th-cam.com/video/9LwKk-XLB2k/w-d-xo.html
Good luck.
We have the same Axis cover and love it. We installed our shelf just below the locking bar so that the cover stays sealed. It rolls up big enough that it’s not hard to roll back up and over the ledge height. We also bought a 12” soft brush push broom to remove debris from the cover which includes leaves, sticks, branch debris and acorns. We keep our cover tight so water and ice is very minimal.
Wow thanks for the heads up!
wouldn´t another shelf sort out the problem? The cabinet should be strong enough to screw just any kind of shelf on to it? Or lower the one that´s on it now? Covers are always a problem when it comes to durability.... but with the right fixing, you wouldn´t have too many issues, right? Not acceptable though, to buy from a professional dealer - and end up with a non-functional combination of gear.... thanks for the review, great help!! I hope the swimming is working better? :)
When Master Spa's sent out their team to fix my issues, they installed the shelf they recommended and replaced the cover. With the proper shelf, it works a lot better. The real issue was the dealer installed the wrong shelf and then lied repeatedly about replacing it and there was a lot of finger pointing. It took a while, but Master Spas did resolve the issue.
Its egregious, and that was a lot of money, thank you for sharing!
Wow, thx for the info
Not only does this push me off the cover, but off master spa
