That prescription is saying “pick up the phone and contact prescriber”
Bingo!🎯
😂
it's an antihistamine for allergy symptoms, which i could see being used with an antibiotic. PALGIC 4mg 1qd x 10 d
I'm a pharmacist in Australia and am struggling with this one! I like to call these scripts "choose your own adventure".
Z pack
Hieroglyphics
10
Toddler scribbles
Refill 1 or 2 times. You choose.
It says: "hjklftrgijknjubhytuyfrgtfghjk" obviously. I can even tell without my glasses.
No but fr, how does anyone finish school with handwriting like that???
That’s painful to look at.
Best comment award 🏆
Pretty sure the second one is Magic tab 4 mg #10 i qAM. I hear they work amazingly well.
Dang! You’ve got great eyesight 😂
How the hell did you figure this out?
This is 100% not what it says, but the first thing my brain went with was the first word looking like Polish cursive that says "Międzynarodówka".
That's a doctor that needs his Rx pad revoked 😂 and GROUNDED to Escripting FOREVER!
I have no clue what that is saying. There must be a prescription writing course that is required to take because every doctor I have had writes like that. I can't imagine the headaches and frustration of having to decipher those all days
Or maybe it’s due to how much information that these doctors need to even graduate, that their handwriting gets worse and worse.
I can’t imagine being a professor and having to read a lot of essays with mostly chick-scratches.
Two prescriptions
1. Z pack
2. [?Falqic] PO 4 mg
BID
[?MIA?]
It's saying: it's Friday and I'm going on vacation, please call the PA or nurse on duty. Refill: please attempt once or twice for clarification.
That's a nope from me. Years ago when I was a hospital nurse we had an oral surgeon who was a lovely man but his handwriting looked like heiroglyphics. It was neat, numbers easy to read but the words were unintelligible. It helped that he prescribed the same thing for all of his patients 99% of the time so we learned to read them but new nurses would just shake their heads and ask for help transcribing them.
As a young medical transcriptionist, I used handwritten records to verify what I thought a doctor was saying. (Yes, too many were as rushed and garbled when dictating onto cassette tapes). I cannot read any more than you can.
I thought pharmacists are supposed to have this magical power where they can read doctor’s handwriting no matter what.
Z pack
Palgic tab 4 mg po qAM
That writing is awful.
As a former unit clerk years ago. I can’t read it. I teach 4th grade and often tell my students I can read most doctors writing but I can’t read yours.
Time to change doctors.
Does it say zpack public blasphemy?
I sentence this prescriber to one year of remedial kindergarten handwriting.
I enter prescriptions all day , ________, lines indicate another prescription. Zpk do not require directions as they are on the box so UTD. As for the second item i can make out "tabs 4mg , 10, Tqam" as for the name?? P- u/o- l -q/g/y- i - c/s/a... Lost me.
That’s about what I was getting as well. I could definitely see a q on the last line. But as a pharm tech, I’d be handing this over to my pharmacist to have a look-see. I would not trust myself to get it right.
I have no idea what is written. That's crazy!
Z Pack (something something), V/O (something something)…….???
I might be seeing "P/O" but honestly what the heck is this...
I'm guessing z pack, illegible, p.o., 1 q hr....which is NOT how often you take it.
I think the folks saying Palgic are right for the 2nd Rx, but that is some atrocious handwriting! 😜
Z-pack with 10 tablets? Have never heard of that. I thought it was no refills. Lollll
In the pharmacy all you really need to know is zpak. Then you just type in the standard zpak instructions and move on.
I would call the doctor and tell him to clarify that. Can't read it. I don't guess his Rxs.
My Pharmacist would always ask me what did I think it read. He never gave me any hints. As a Tech back in the day most of the scripts looked like this.
this looks like my late grandfather’s handwriting (and mine to a degree..)
That second word looks like Taxidermy to me. Now I can't get it out of my mind 😂
Do they still do hand written prescriptions in the US? Ive not seen one in probably 15 or more years.
z pack / [???] / quantity 10 / take 1 every [???] / 1 refill
This is definitely one I would pass to the pharmacist for help, lol
Z-pak
Palgic tab 4 MG
QID
PRN
The bottom part translates to, my best guess, 1 as needed?
Prednisone 4mg,disp 10, 1 q am
It says 'Z pack'
Which is an antibiotic.
Z pack and steriods
That's what I was thinking, but what steroids?
@@dhesyca4471 prednisone
Prednisone.
@@colctywi it doesn't look like "prednisone" at all
Z pack is all I can make out, too.
I got the first part. I'm on it now
Zach 1 tab daily #10
I cheated, retired RPh, 50 years. Enjoy your videos.
Z pac not Zach. Thanks auto correct.
This should be a series!
😂 Saying azithromycin like that clears things up.
It’s an antibiotic.
@ferretyluv Thank you. Because I really had no idea what kind of medicine it was. I don't consider medicine names like that to be common knowledge, so I wish he had said what kind he was talking about.
I think I see tab x day
Don’t they send these electronically now?
When they write like this they should 😂
Z Pack
Palgic 10mg 1 QHS 1refill
Ok I’m convinced you wrote the script bc how tf you get that?! 😂
THIS is why we have to learn the brand names!
@@JerseyGirl1224 😂😂💪🏽

Can't azithromycin used 2 caps once daily for 3 days
It usually tapers off after a strong beginning.
@@angelcollina Won't act like the 500mg 3 caps package like AZIMAC??
@@SAKE42able sorry I’m not familiar with that one
