PERFECTION as usual! I love to see your cakes because they NEVER have that Swiss cheese look(cake bubbles LOL). All that caramel cake needs is a bowl of Tillamook vanilla ice cream. Get a spoon and dip up alllllll that caramel and put over that ice cream! We didn't have a microwave either Dude #1....not until the mid 80's. Peace and blessings to you both!

I’m going make this caramel icing. I’ve made the one with the white sugar and the one with condensed milk you put the can in a pot of boiling water depending on how thick you want your caramel it’s 1 to 3 hours. It’s delicious taste just like caramel💜
When baking with buttermilk, baking soda is the leavening agent, not baking powder. Your cakes always look so delicious. I have to try this one. I made your Banana Pudding Pound Cake and it was delicious!!! ❤
As a fermented product, buttermilk is quite acidic, which makes it a useful leavening agent. Combined with baking soda, acidic ingredients create a chemical reaction that produces carbon dioxide bubbles inside your dough or batter, making it airy and light.
Next time try and mix 1 cup of oil,1 cup flour and 1 stick butter together and grease your cake pan then put batter in pan it doesn’t change the flavor of your cake and you don’t have to cool your cake just turn it out, refrigerate the rest of your oil for the next time

Your cake is absolutely beautiful and the way you put that icing on that cake! Ooowee! made it look even more delicious. I like to bake with cream cheese as well. Some cake recipes just don't end up with a high rise but that didn't make this one any less attractive and taste delicious! You did an excellent job as always with this beautiful cake. Mrs Donna I grew up on the Buttermilk Pound cake (not with the caramel) and I am a good minute over 50 😂 This was a staple in our house. If my momma wanted a cake she would whip it up in a quick minute. My momma is not here anymore but this is one of the recipes I kept and like her I can whip it up in a minute. You are using the same ingredients and measurements she did except the caramel. So thank you I have an extra ingredient to change it up some.

Hey Lisa, I would have used at least half a teaspoon. I didn't know that condensed milk came in pouches. Thank you for letting me know. 💚
