Actually bad breath has more to due to gut health, more then brushing of teeth. Actually the Chinese seem to do fairly well teeth wise compare to the USA were you have children getting root canals by the age of 10 years old due to sugar drinks and diet. But the Chinese do not eat as much sugar or sweets like we do..The Chinese diet would be more healthier if the food was grown safe and safety maintain until sold. I do not see having fresh meat sitting outside in the open at room temperature for hours with everyone touching it as being safe. The germ from the hands can be cook off but the bacteria from sitting outside cannot.

His doctor was trying to encourage him to at least wash down below, his reply was 'i'll wash it in the next young girl'. He never brushed his teeth only washing his mouth out with green tea, which gave his teeth a green tinge. He also had venereal diseases, the girls were actually proud of getting a dose off him as a form of proof that they had had sex with him.

Even when she is in hot climate >40 C, she doesn't sweat at all. Not a bit.
But despite living in UK which isn't hot, she still washes daily.
Fact: If you eat garlic the subsequent odour doesn't only come from your mouth, it also permeates your

It existed but it wasn't a big enough issue to really complain about. This was before the talk of institutional racism. It was around 2000 I began hearing about institutional racism and on and on. Shaving armpits in the west wasn’t at thing until the 1920s. Like pushing diamonds as a “tradition” so were grooming standards imposed by marketing departments.

    • @deusexaethera
      @deusexaethera 5 ปีที่แล้ว +29

I agree that hair removal has been marketed to the masses as the only way to be pretty, but people have always appreciated smooth skin (especially on women) and have trimmed or removed body hair as well as they could for all of recorded history, and certainly even longer. Even if full-body hair removal hasn't been practical on a daily basis for more than a hundred years or so, it's not like you need advanced technology to pull stray hairs. Like all forms of grooming, hair management is a way of advertising how well you maintain your health and thus how desirable you are as a mate. Hell, there are stories in the Bible about brides-to-be having their "virgin hairs" (i.e. pubes) removed before their wedding day.

My takeaway from these comments is that hygiene is more cultural than racial. In some places the black people are very clean and the surrounding white people are dirty, other places it’s the reverse, other places they behave the same. Not all white people everywhere share the same culture, even within the US there are distinctive regional subcultures that have nothing to do with race. I assume it’s the same with other races, I’ve just never lived near a large enough population of Asian people to generalize their behaviors vs that of the surrounding culture.

I don’t like to shave my armpits because it irritates my skin and it has to be done almost daily to keep the hair from regrowing. I feel it’s a double standard. Some men (and women) like the smell of body odor.

To me, heavy garlic use produces a similar constant smell as when people stop using underarm deodorant for a week. But that is nothing compared to the smell of Indian curry. I love Asian Indians, but if they home-cook with real curry, their clothing and homes just REEK of it. I recall a bank teller whose only contact with me was through the little holes in the bullet-proof glass but the curry smell was just shooting at me through them. I once had to move out of an apartment because the couple downstairs cooked with it 2 or 3 times a week and it seeped through the old-fashioned air vents. :-0

Im a guy in the USA and when I was about 18 I discovered that if I trimed my armpit hair short I rarely needed deodorant unless I drank alcohol or ate meat for several consecutive days. DONT shave it, or you'll then need to apply lotion multiple times to avoid ingrown hairs. Instead I just trim it short with the beard triming attachment on my electric razor. Also, I also try to only eat meat 2 times per week (Not always successful). There are lots of other things that can be done as well like drinking a little apple cider vinegar each day. And use a body wash with grapefruit seed extract in it such as "Puracy-citrus grove" baby shampoo/body wash. And if you still need deodotant...Hands down THE BEST deodorant IN THE WORLD is a product called "Lavilin" underarm cream! I used to order it from a military surplus catalog when I was a kid. The company eventually got bought by "Now foods" and repackaged in a new container but its still called Lavilin. You only need to apply once per week in hot sweaty climates and every 2 weeks in winter. That stuff is no joke, it actually works. The best part is its entirely natural with no weird chemicals...spoiler, its mostly grapefruit seed extract.

On the hairy legs/armpits topic - it's annoying to me when people are extremely onesided on the issue. Like just women have to shave, but guys can look like freaking bigfoot if they like. It is mostly an aesthetic thing, but western culture has started to influence Asia as well, so women there have started to shave too.
I think it's also a cultural thing, nobody gave a fuck about body hair on women like 100 years ago, but now if you don't remove it you're just...weird and gross. And I'm not feminist enough to go against the system and grow it all out, because my western upbringing has conditioned me to think of it as unattractive. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I can’t stand armpit hair but I often don’t shave my legs for weeks at a time. Especially in the winter. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I just tell my husband to deal with it. I’d say I’d shave them more when he did but he used to be a swimmer so he’d shave his legs in a heartbeat.

Shaving causes a lot of irritation and in grown hairs in the armpit too. Very rarely will you be able to get fully smooth underarms like how they do in commercials because of that.

They are actually remarkably robust. And there's even a guard around the valve. (And depending on how the valve is designed, should that get damaged in a very unlikely case, the bottle might just spin. There's no way it can explode under Vietnamese road traffic conditions. You'd have to cook it in a refinery fire or such, and even that might just make it release its contents.)

Japan: They're obsessed with hand cleanliness. Even after washing, they still don't trust their own hands. You can be certain your meal was prepared with clean hands. And notice the white gloves used in certain occupations like train drivers. And yeah, I ❤ these conversations with crazy scenery thrown in, so I subbed.

the thing about smells is that if it comes from a food that is culturally eaten daily, then they probably don't notice the smell themselves. we as humans tend to get used to smells, if you and your spouse stay in the house for a week without showering, you probably don't notice each others' smells because you've gotten used to it, but if you leave the house you can bet other people will notice it. This is the reason that tourists from different cultures may smell funny to locals all over the world, I'm sure westerners (me being part of it) may smell different to eastern people as well.

I’ve never experienced such bad breath anywhere else in the world, it’s soooo bad! What I don’t understand is can they not smell how bad it is, or do they just not tell their wives/husbands/friends/family etc? It’s baffling 🤢

tbh it shows that both of you spent so much time somewhere else. Which I like, otherwise I wouldn’t get all these informative videos. And I get it, you don’t like armpit hair on women - it’s an esthetic thing. But if a woman decides to keep her armpit hair short (and trim it) because her skin gets irritated every time she shaves it - she’s instead has got do it for the men? It just sounds like they have to comply, otherwise she’s “disgusting”. You’re not disgusting just because you have body hair. I think it’s just a question of whether you have to follow everything society tells you to do. I much rather have a happy woman next to me that has a couple of hairs under her pits than an irritated one because she has to look good for me. And come on. It’s not even about feminism you guys - it’s about letting people not have to do a dance just to make someone else happy. It’s just about letting them be who they wanna be. I feel like society has put women down for long enough. At the same time I’m pledging to make painted nails on men acceptable. You don’t have to like it, just support the people who want to do it. It doesn’t hurt anyone.

Small addition on the garlic thing: I’ve got pills (plant-based) that erase the garlic and onion smells that come up through the throat. In Germany they’re called “Stozzon”. You can look them up. It cancels out the smell within half an hour, so you can be confident to have garlic bread for lunch and a meeting an hour later without having any inconvenience. Just thought that might help with future occasions 😊

I'm Portuguese and I never have heard the term Portuguese Shower. I did research and it means when someone bathes themselves in deodorant to mask the bad smell of the at the end of the day, before going out. Most portuguese people shower everyday. I assume the portuguese shower comes when people go straight from work to have a night out in the summer.

My wife is Chinese from Aksu up in Northern China and has no arm or leg hair she has beautiful long head of hair and small amount elsewhere. Happy New Year guys to you and your family's. Never heard of Portuguese shower but have heard it called sponge bathing. I really hated hopscotching around gobs of snot on the sidewalk in China.
