When I decided to go with Talons the biggest deciding factor was how deep they went. At the lake I fish the most I don't think 8' would even work for me at the ramp. I needed a minimum 10' so I went with the 12s. Being that I was installing them myself was also an influence. The Talons are very easy for the DYI guy to install. I have had zero problems with mine and would most likely put them on my next boat.

I’ve had my Gen2 10’ Talons since 2015 and have loved them! No pumps, fluid or bushings to mess with. To each their own.

You would think they would start making the battery compartments a tad bigger. 🤷‍♂️

I have 2 Power poles series 2 and the reason i got those was they are lighter than the blades I did how ever had a leak in one of the lines Power Pole did replace the lines no questions asked, what ever works for you yes I have to drop mine before I move my boat and when I go under some lower bridges and you better lower them. thank you TJ

I run the power poles. Have to have that ability to angle them down when going under things like small bridges that connect 2 areas of a lake and getting under over hanging trees etc etc

Brother I just got Power Poles last week so I can use the Drift Paddles... BRUHHHHHHHH it's sooooo Bitter Sweet... Talons are better anchoring. Sorry. My 12Ft Talons Locked you in place like MONEY & gave me more flexibility to fish deeper for Crappie, along with going straight down. However, the Drift Paddles make me use the Power Poles more than the Talons. I love the Straight Down feature of Talon vs the extending the legs of Power Poles. This is really bitter Sweet. Because I can fish Crappie in 11 foot of less & lock with Talon. For Locking at the boat Ramp I like the Power Poles because they extend out deeper on the boat ramp. Again if Talons had Drift Paddles I would never have Power Poles but Power Poles are good. This describes my feelings

There’s a reason Minnkota came out with the raptors once the PP patent was up..They we’re getting their ass kicked in that market space..PPs are a far superior design and PPs customer service is incredible.. With PP you can run paddles which is killer for drift fishing..

@@TackleJunky81 On my old boat I run 24v trolling motor. I only have room for two batteries. One has the starter and the other electronics, anchor mates, lights, horn, ect. At my age, this is more than enough but young guys fishing all day, a third battery would be very beneficial. Talons allow that and even running two batteries probably wouldn't give you enough room. It's a wonder bass boats aren't 25". All about space.

@@TackleJunky81 yes you would. Thought for a minute, maybe they use the same size rear deck parts as longer boats but it's not like they make thousands of units. Not that you will benefit but maybe they will receive enough feedback to change. In the long run I think you got it right for sure. Tight lines.
