When I start displacing the groove my guitar players just stop and look at me and ask me what am I doing and I just shrug my shoulders. Nevermind the bass player he's just following me.

Oh yeah both have a unique challenge. Vinnie's is easier technically. But could be harder to get in time. Either way I've tried both and Benny's required more practice to sound good to me haha. Some people would definitely disagree.
I have to agree. Although the coordination is more challenging in BGs, the stepped hihat keeps the original pulse, making the displacement much easier to hear and understand. You only hear the displacement in VCs, and no limb keeping the actual pulse makes it that much harder!
