Hydraulic connector problem resolved

I was unable to connect the backhoe Hydraulic connectors to the Tractor. I figured out that I had hydraulic pressure built up in the hose because the backhoe was out in the sun all day.

Hi There,
The pressure is not from the sun. You have a pressurized hydraulic system. Bleeding hydraulic oil should only be used in emergency as last resort. With tractor off move the joy stick thru every function it has several times. If your loader/bucket is 1" off the ground your system has about 3000psi and you're not gonna overcome that with hand pressure. Tony's Tractor has a good video of how to relieve hydraulic pressure. Also, I recommend getting an RK Tractor Mechanic on speed dial. The dealer who sold you the rig should be happy to answer any operational questions. The same help could have made Grapple installation easier and much cleaner. Be sure not to get any teflon tape in hydraulic system, can damage/clog valves.
A little RK help will go a long way to help you and they owe you that much, use them!

apparently a common problem. there is a wrench out there in the internets to help. a youtubes dude also mentioned tapping it against a brick or something. says to cover the end with a rag when you do so, to avoid having it blast ur skin. and to do it lightly a few times so ya don't deform the pin. seemed like a smart suggestion. guessing it's like a ball lock on a soda keg. i'd bet us average joes could fabricate our own set of hydraulic pressure relief pliers.

I've not hooked my backhoe up again. Good to know was going to do it this week I let you know how it goes.

To be honest it took me a very long time to get it aligned and connected. Then I had problems with the hydraulic connectors. I hope the video helps you. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. Good luck getting your backhoe connected.

Watched a video earlier today said to shut engine off and move your joystick around some before trying to connect he was doing loader but I assume it will get the whole system. I keep learning from you guys

Put lever under seat in the off position before removing backhoe.

Yes, you should do that. Having the backhoe sitting in the sun caused my problem.
