      I never tried cooking it together with pasta sauce, I cook it with water only and then add pasta sauce after it’s cooked. If you try cooking with pasta sauce , please let me know how it turned out! I would decrease the water by the equivalent of 1/2 jar of pasta sauce and then add pasta sauce on top (without mixing the water) and cook for the same amount of time. Never tried it though, just guessing. For whole wheat, I’d increase the cooking time by 1 minute

    Quick question. You said "you don't even have to drain pasta", but every scoop of pasta coming out of that Instant Pot has water running out of it.
    I've found that with pastas like elbow macaroni, shells (as you've done there, although it's a different name), and pastas of that size, it needs 4 minutes, and a quick release. Perfect, every time.
    For the larger pastas (rigatone, ziti), it might still be 4 minutes, it might be 6, it might even go so far as 15. But the ratio is right. 1 lb/4 cups liquid (chicken or beef stock work too).

    • @MelanieCooksRecipes
      @MelanieCooksRecipes  ปีที่แล้ว

      There was a little water left, but not much so draining is unnecessary, it would absorb completely if the pasta sat in the pot for another few min. You are right, it depends on the type of pastas, some absorb water better then others

    If I just want 0.25 pound of pasta would I just use one cup of water? Thanks

    • @MelanieCooksRecipes
      @MelanieCooksRecipes  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Use just enough water to cover the pasta. I’d also do 2 min pressure cook time (as it comes to pressure quicker with less water). I never tried cooking less then the whole box at a time, so please let me know how it turns out!

      @@MelanieCooksRecipes That's super good to know. Husband and I love Egg Noodles. I'll definitely be making them using your method. After cooking, releasing pressure, and draining I'll set it aside in a separate bowl and use the Instant Pot for the Beef Tips, Mushrooms, Onions and White Sauce 😋 👍. I love ❤ not having my kitchen area heated up during the hot weather so using the Instant Pot solves that beautifully for me.

    Can you make Spaghetti your way in your instant pot without meat, Or With meat. I love how you cook 👩‍🍳. Simple. Cold weather is here and people love cooking Soups in instant pot, specially beginners, like me. Thank you very much. 👍👍👏👏🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

      Yes you can cook spaghetti in the Instant Pot, just break it in half so it fits under water, add 4 cups of water and pressure cook for 1 min (as it's thin and cooks quickly) and natural release for 10 minutes, then quick release. If you want to make it with meat, you can cook meat on Saute, then take it out and cook the spaghetti, then mix spaghetti with cooked meat and pasta sauce.

    One pound pasta to four cups water one tsp salt for two minutes. When done natural release of steam for five minutes. Then release steam button.

    Most instant pot videos are confusing, because people never mention it’s NEVER 2 min - yes you set up pressure cook to 2min, but it takes like 10min for instantpot to get to the pressure point + like you said 5min release + 2min to release the air from the velve = the whole process is about 20min. I used to get so upset, I thought there’s something wrong with my instant pot, because in the videos the timer would start countdown and my instntpot was just showing ON.
