Reasons for not recommending this Daytona exhaust system for the R15? Well for a start it costs Rs.16000!!! Lol. If you look at the performance gain to price ratio, this is an extremely expensive modification for what will ultimately be a performance advantage at 80-100% of throttle opening, which probably correlates to 15% of on road riding time. It does weigh much less than the original set but even then, this sort of advantage in weight reduction can only be felt at extreme lean angles used in high speed cornering. So folks, it's just not advisable if you're going to use the bike on the road all the time. The sound it makes is purely subjective to the individuals tastes. I think it sounds much better than stock. If your bike is new then such an addition will make the warranty redundant after spending so much money! Seems crazy from this perspective too. So definitely don't fit it on a bike that is still within the warranty period. It would be a much better idea to add a high quality octane booster to the fuel in the tank. This would provide an immediate boost in performance at all engine speeds. You could purchase a lot of cans for Rs.16000!! Lol. No, the only area where there is anything to gain from a mod like this is if you want to shave 0.5s off your lap time around a track and even then, you would need the riding skills of Abhinav here to do that consistently and successfully...
Hi. I only got the first service done by them. And I was pretty satisfied. No complaints. For my second service, I went to a specialised superbike workshop. And of course, that was way better, but one would expect such a thing at such a place. Will do a video on it soon. Cheers

Thank you for the kind words, Danish. Unfortunately, the suspension on the R15 is non-adjustable. No tweaks can be made to the stock shock. You will have to replace the whole unit, which will turn out to be expensive. I'll probably be swapping this with something in a couple of months. Will post the video when I do. Cheers

The problem is there is no tuning box available for it yet and you can't fit a quickshifter without it. As soon as Powertronics makes one, you know who will be one of the first to buy and review. Please ensure you also get the powertronic ecu for r15 or let the engineer remap the ecu after dyno run with the free flow exhaust. So that your engine won't run lean and save your engine life. On the other hand your vlog is really nice to watch, very clear english accent

Hi Pavan. A front disc upgrade used to be available for the first version of this bike. Not available any more. You can look at my brake upgrade videos. My set up is significantly better than stock. And I am getting a bigger rotor and a better caliper too. Watch out for those videos. Cheers

You should try tridente exhaust because ,the exhaust have 3 mode , 1 silent like a standard exhaust, 2 road sound it is very good sound ,not to loud, 3 race mood it is loud sound
You know that void warranty and 16k on an exhaust is somewhat of a big compromise. It does provide the performance and sound, but engine warranty is a prime, These are my Personal opinions and for response purpose only. Not mean to Answer anybody's elses thoughts whoever is interested in product.

Hello Cyril. This exhaust still makes some sense for me because I want to take this motorcycle to the race track. There, sound doesn't matter. Just the performance gain from the exhaust. But as you said, this video will deter many from buying this exhaust. I'll keep trying out different mods on the bike and keep posing them here. Also, I plan to eventually fit upside down forks on this bike that I will bring from abroad. Probably in September when I can take leave from work. Cheers

hi abhinav !! its nice but only on race track not for daily rides because it effects your engine pistons and cylinders, in future you will see oil leakage an all or else get your ECU tuned as well.

Lack of ABS should not really be a deterrent while considering this bike. The brakes are actually good for normal street riding. Why don't you ride it once properly and then decide. You can rule it out then. Cheers

No. Theoretically, it will decrease mileage. But practically, it will increase mileage. That's because you will be riding it with a half closed throttle, slowly, because this thing is too damn loud 😂
One more question, Would you recommend this showroom for getting my bike serviced periodically. i am yet to find a good yamaha SVC to get my bike serviced.
to avoid the cancellation of your warranty try not using the daytona instead use a muffler or a slip on exhaust so that the noise would be controlled and would look nice and not forgetting the mileage wouldn't drop too much
All slip ons available for this in our country are fake. They will void warranty too. I get close to 50 on the stock set up. Even if I get 35 with this, I'll be fine. I'm used to 15 kmpl on my Street Triple so anything on this bike seems phenomenal 😂
They don't make exhausts for this bike. One should only buy exhausts that are designed keeping a bike in mind and tested thoroughly. Or they will mess up your engine real quick.
When This exhaust system was introduced for R15 V1, it was had an Optional Upgrade of Front Brake. It was a large Petal disc Rotor. And back then, Yamaha would clearly tell you that after installation of this Exhaust system, the bike would be illegal to be ridden within city. I have Ridden the V1 with that petal disc and the Freeflow Exhaust (not sure if it was a Daytona one) and it was a rocket ship. Popping up wheels was a piece of cake.
Yeah. It was the Daytona kit. I remember clearly. I am still trying to source that rotor. If I remember correctly, it is a 298 mm petal disc rotor. Yamaha also had an ECU, a Dagrex exhaust, sprockets, master cylinder and I think a high-lift cam. Beautiful motorcycle with the mods for that time.
I've v2 .its been 2 year. so what i ve learnt form experience that u shouldn't buy any sports bike .allways choose commutator. as its really very hard to maintain and to repair. hard to find bike parts .even show rooms of india don't have they order it for u and it take 4anywhere between 4-30 days .
Hello, Nakul. Colour is a very subjective topic. I really think you should only buy what looks best to you. I still think Blue looks the best, followed by Grey and then Black. But this is just my opinion and shouldn't matter at all to anyone else.

did the same thing on my cbr 150r, and much worse by making it straight pipe, people and animals did hate it... now i put up stock exhaust with and k&n filter sounds pleasant for a 150cc

Well, it sounds a bit tinny with the baffle. And is still very loud above 6k RPM. But riding without the baffle is not an option on public roads.
Every hollow exhaust feels tiny with baffle, I felt it even with SC on 675.
That's why the Street Triple is without the baffle now 😂

You should try tridente exhaust because ,the exhaust have 3 mode , 1 silent like a standard exhaust, 2 road sound it is very good sound ,not to loud, 3 race mood it is loud sound

You know that void warranty and 16k on an exhaust is somewhat of a big compromise. It does provide the performance and sound, but engine warranty is a prime, These are my Personal opinions and for response purpose only. Not mean to Answer anybody's elses thoughts whoever is interested in product.

hi sir big R15 fan here . i like ur videos and mods on the r15 sir ...but this time i feel that the daytona exhaust was really a very bad investment sir ...the return we got did not justify the price ..this exhaust note was far from awesome ..it was intolerable to say the least ..sounds nothing like a sakura or ixil .add to that the void warranty and now it seems like a white elephant ...but thank you for taking the risk sir ...becoz of you now many viewers will really have a second thought on this one ...kindly keep posting more sir and looking forward to your trip to thailand and indonesia...P.S. please make some vlogs on interesting motorcycles or step thrus over there ... bless you and have awesome day sir ...
Hello Cyril. This exhaust still makes some sense for me because I want to take this motorcycle to the race track. There, sound doesn't matter. Just the performance gain from the exhaust. But as you said, this video will deter many from buying this exhaust. I'll keep trying out different mods on the bike and keep posing them here. Also, I plan to eventually fit upside down forks on this bike that I will bring from abroad. Probably in September when I can take leave from work. Cheers

Thanks for your videos before watching this video I was planning to buy this because of this daytona exhaust and design as well I thought warranty will be consider after change this exhaust. But now I will buy another bike because ABS is also not there with this bike.

Lack of ABS should not really be a deterrent while considering this bike. The brakes are actually good for normal street riding. Why don't you ride it once properly and then decide. You can rule it out then. Cheers

No. Theoretically, it will decrease mileage. But practically, it will increase mileage. That's because you will be riding it with a half closed throttle, slowly, because this thing is too damn loud 😂

One more question, Would you recommend this showroom for getting my bike serviced periodically. i am yet to find a good yamaha SVC to get my bike serviced.
to avoid the cancellation of your warranty try not using the daytona instead use a muffler or a slip on exhaust so that the noise would be controlled and would look nice and not forgetting the mileage wouldn't drop too much
All slip ons available for this in our country are fake. They will void warranty too. I get close to 50 on the stock set up. Even if I get 35 with this, I'll be fine. I'm used to 15 kmpl on my Street Triple so anything on this bike seems phenomenal 😂

They don't make exhausts for this bike. One should only buy exhausts that are designed keeping a bike in mind and tested thoroughly. Or they will mess up your engine real quick.

Yeah. So Daytona, Proliner or Sakura is the way to go. Rest are all fake.
When This exhaust system was introduced for R15 V1, it was had an Optional Upgrade of Front Brake. It was a large Petal disc Rotor. And back then, Yamaha would clearly tell you that after installation of this Exhaust system, the bike would be illegal to be ridden within city.
I have Ridden the V1 with that petal disc and the Freeflow Exhaust (not sure if it was a Daytona one) and it was a rocket ship.
Popping up wheels was a piece of cake.
Yeah. It was the Daytona kit. I remember clearly. I am still trying to source that rotor. If I remember correctly, it is a 298 mm petal disc rotor. Yamaha also had an ECU, a Dagrex exhaust, sprockets, master cylinder and I think a high-lift cam. Beautiful motorcycle with the mods for that time.

I've v2 .its been 2 year. so what i ve learnt form experience that u shouldn't buy any sports bike .allways choose commutator. as its really very hard to maintain and to repair. hard to find bike parts .even show rooms of india don't have they order it for u and it take 4anywhere between 4-30 days .

Hello, Nakul. Colour is a very subjective topic. I really think you should only buy what looks best to you. I still think Blue looks the best, followed by Grey and then Black. But this is just my opinion and shouldn't matter at all to anyone else.

did the same thing on my cbr 150r, and much worse by making it straight pipe, people and animals did hate it...

So I can see this video was put like 3 yrs before..how is the riding quality all these years, does the engine tend to loose it's performance on longer run? And is there any drop in power or the mileage ?
