It's very refreshing that even on what has been a bit of a losing skid, LSV comes back with a giddy grin on his face to pick up Lurrus P1P1. Legend for a reason.
If there are a million Lurrus fans, I am one of them If there are a hundred Lurrus fans, I am one of them If there are 10 Lurrus fans, I am one of them If there is 1 Lurrus fan, it's LSV
P1P1 Lurrus is the way to do Lurrus, where you don't have to scrap your picks to shuffle your deck into a direction it has to suck in its gut to fit into. I do look forward to seeing how Lurrus does here. After the draft, before matches: this is the kinda deck that I feel like Lurrus can do real well in - low to the ground, so taking the time to Lurrus can really push the value, but I think also make the room for you to be able to do so.
kind of a random request, but would you consider doing a couple of Vintage Cube drafts with the mindset of teaching those completely new to vintage cube? I have some friends I'm trying to lure into the format. They have just a little experience with commander and aren't familiar with all the cards. They like the format, but are a bit overwhelmed, and I'd love to be able to point them to a couple of your drafts where you don't make as many assumptions about the knowledge the viewer has of the cards. Your "Top 50" videos with deeper explanations are super helpful, but would be nice to pair something like that with draft + gameplay.
I feel like LSV’s content is already accessible at all levels, which is part of why he’s done so well as a content creator for so long. Just recommending him in the dark as an introduction to the format is something I’ve done before and has been pretty successful.
Wow another mid Lurrus deck, and LSV honestly doesn't get why he's always losing? Sometimes it's time to move on and admit... ... you should watch the video before rushing to the comments to hate on Lurrus
I'm interested in discussing your Match 1 Game 1 decision to Lurrus ocelot. I assume it was to keep the foot on the gas and maximize pressure instead of baubling.
I would say that converting card advantage into a snowball type of threat is more important than generating more card advantage. If they kill Lurrus the next turn, you still have a winning threat on board, as opposed to an extra random card.
I feel like we have very different estimations of how many blue sources you need for cryptic command to be good. I mean, at the point you picked it, you would have been splashing for cryptic! Don't you want at least 10 sources to have a reasonable chance of casting it by land #5? Even that is a bit thin as you really want it on land 4 which is like 13+ sources to consistently have. For this deck to have 10 sources though it would (at this point) need to play 5 islands, which leaves 4 spots for swamps and plains when the deck has a bunch of black and white 1-drops. Of course you weren't missing out on much by taking it regardless, but it felt like basically 0% to be good. I also am much lower on lotus petal than you are. I'd probably play it in this deck because Lurrus can make up for the card disadvantage and turn 1 1-drop + discard spell is a pretty nice start, but I would definitely have taken strip mine over it. Lotus petal even has a slight chance to wheel. Bombardiers, pyrogoyf, vaultborn tyrant, skyclave apparation, 2 tri-lands, and bitter triumph are all cards I could see being taken over it (some more so than others). All that said, this deck does look good to me. I don't like having this many tap lands given how strong your 1-drops are, though. I would have looked at limiting blue further in order to up the # of turn 1 black and white sources. Probably you'd have needed to draft slightly differently for that to make sense though (taking strip mine into samwise over ponder, taking winds of abandon over no more lies). My prediction is 2-1, with your one loss being due to some awkward curve outs from tap lands (having an untapped land turn 1 over a tapped one is like its own lotus petal!). Though I also could see the blue cards performing really well and justifying the tap lands. In other words, I'm not that confident about my prediction, I suppose. edit: Well, I guess I didn't predict only 2 matches happening. I will say the lotus petal didn't look especially good and there were moments where a strip mine would have been quite nice to have. On the flip side, the blue cards did perform really well, so I think if I had taken the more consistent route I would have ended up with a worse deck.
I wonder about how good rite of oblivion would be in this cube, I feel like it has a ton of use cases and wb seems to have a ton of random material lying around. Honestly cards these days just make a lot of rectangles
Hello, police? Yes, it's me. He's taking lurrus again. Okay, I'll hold.
Lurrus is fine 3v3. No one will have a good deck. Any 2 for 1 card is going to be a fine pick.

The irony that Lurrus would be taking LSV off the losing streak lol
There’s no I in Lurrus. Do it, Luis!
I love seeing Lurrus decks come together.
I heard if you say Lurrus into the mirror 3 times it appears and ruins your deck.
If there are a million Lurrus fans, I am one of them

If there are 10 Lurrus fans, I am one of them

Lurrus?
Skill...

BREAKING NEWS: 10 time pro tour top 8 hall of famer Luis Scott-Vargas wins a match of cube?!?!? THEY SAID IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE

Next episode will be a Duel Commander deck with lurrus companion
That one lurrus comment from a few weeks ago really broke him
LSV's editor needs to make a custom thumbnail for all lurrus drafts
consider me absolutely binging on the lurrus kool-aid
Got a chuckle from the title. You do you Luis, if chat is criticizing you. Chat is the wrong one!
The first step to Lurrus recovery is admitting you have a problem 😂
Lurrus Scott-Vargas. Great content, as always. Ill keep watching as long as you keep posting.
49:22 the most controversial statement in the history of magic
FP that lurrus! just started watching and excited to see it!

@18:30 some hard hitting analysis of Tamiyo.
Long Live the Love for Lurrus!
I'm interested to hear LSV, you say regularly that Grief isn't very good, but in what spot or deck would you like to take it?
Not sure what LSV thinks, but it's much better in decks with draw 7's, or other ways to negate the card disadvantage.
I wonder about how good rite of oblivion would be in this cube, I feel like it has a ton of use cases and wb seems to have a ton of random material lying around. Honestly cards these days just make a lot of rectangles
Time to go back to the well
If Companion is the reason it is so good...why is Lutri not treated on the same level as Lurrus? 😮
If you had drafted boros, starting with solitude, it would have been so broken
Yeah fable, fury, broadside, solitude and bolt
LurruSV
i guess the cat is out of the pack eh
draw 7s are a trap
Taking Lurrus in 3v3 …….
Not taking lurrus in a 3v3?
I love these vids, but it is really hard to enjoy the content to its fullest over the sound of choking on saliva. Has a mic shield ever been tried?
