TechManZ, thanx for the review!! Also appreciated you showing the couple of extra examples. I do want to add my 2 cents comment re. the voltage "advice". We move around a lot (I smiled at the Del Mar address although false, it's just "up the hill" from our American home in La Jolla! At the moment we are in our 240 v home, in the U.K. My husband bought a QL-700 through Amazon & from the machine itself to the plug pins, all was correct for use here, no adaptor needed at all??
In the official website it says "Up to 62mm print width and 59mm print height", but in this video I saw that you manage to print with 100mm.
Can you print shipping labels with it?

It took me 2 days to figure out why it is not working on my laptop. It was in front of me the whole time and that would be not turning on the editor lite button.

Can you print eBay labels with it?
Yes you have to change the ebay settings to print 2x7 labels and then use a 2 inch continuous roll for this printer and print 2x7 labels through ebay.

Thank you. So I've never tried it, since the paper is not that big, but you can always try. also, look into the zebra printers for ebay shipping labels. I've used those before for that, they're practically designed for that.

we use it for ebay shipping and we love it! at first it seemed like the labels were super tiny and I didn't think they'd PO would accept them with such tiny text, but the PO is totally fine with them, they just scan the barcode anyways so it doesnt rly matter if the text is readable to humans. my only complaint might be related to setting it up the first time to print thru ebay correctly. it rly wasn't that bad though, especially compared to all the pros for this printer. it's fast, frugal, wastes so much less paper, prints perfect labels every time, and its incredibly consistent and reliable. we've never had a single problem once we got it up and running.
disclaimer: I've never tried to use their custom label designing software, I only use this for ebay shipping labels.

Thanks for the video, bit this isn't really a review...! More like a basic demo that the label printer can indeed print labels, giving us a shallow impression of the software, and a pretty good impression of the speed and quality of the print.

Yes as long as it's under 2.4 inches in width I believe. You can go on google and type in QL700 compatible labels.

From what I've seen the QL-700 is not wireless, but the QL-710W is

What type of laptop do you have
is color print available ??
Thermal printers don't have the ability for color since the ink is embedded in the label itself the printer just uses heat to activate the ink inside of the label. There are some printers that do have the ability to print in two colors but you need to buy the special labels for those which are a little pricier. They usually print Black/Red or Black/Blue but there's some that can print other colors like Black/Yellow.
Can I use this from an iPhone ?
It's not wireless. I believe the QL-810W is.

Np. Unfortunately it doesn't.
Does this need ink?
No. Thermal printers use heat to activate a chemical in the thermal labels which make it look like ink. So no ink involved only special thermal paper.

No

not natively. your going to have to plug it into a wireless hub or something.
will these labels stick on fabric?
Depends on the manufacturer. The brother official ones do but some third party ones sometimes do not just read the reviews before you buy any.
I've just bought this label printer and it supposes to plug and play but mine isn't doing that. I can't get it to do anything. Any suggestions please? [i've got windows vista.]
You need to install the software that it comes with- that little round cd- or you can get it from the brother website

No ink required, it is a thermal/heat printer. Sorry not sure what you mean about the product label question
Direct thermals like this one do not use ink or toner it prints using a thermal print head that activates the color on the thermal labels. There's another type of printer called a Thermal Transfer which does need "ink", it uses a toner ribbon but the prints don't fade like with direct thermal.

Yes but it will likely fade very quickly outdoors. If it's exposed to heat for a long time eventually it either fades or blacks out. For outdoor use you should look at Thermal Transfer printers. They are a little pricier to buy and operate but they will never fade. They use a ribbon toner to print onto the paper rather than heat directly on a thermal label.
Always have problems with brother label printers. Work one minute and not the next. Brother's made up problens. Such a drag.

Printers don't discriminate. It can print anything you throw at it even pictures but they won't look as good as on an inkjet or laser printer.
I just bought the ql 800 and its not working. I click print and it turns red. I tried everything. Could it be cause I have a macbook?

He never shared any customer information. Those are fake addresses that the printer software prints out for test labels.
