Actually there is a mamak, economic rice cafe halal and non halal (kedai makan megan) within walking distance. Just walk to cheras sentral mall and exit the gate mall (lvl 1 same lvl as you enter from mrt connaught). Price about rm7 for chap fan quite ok.
Never been to Maxim. Can't compare so i'm just going to give my PERSONAL POV. If you were to ask me on just the numbers and composition of owners, I would prefer to STAY here compared to Maxim. Price wise this is reasonable. Also a lot own stay here and unblock view is "maybe" guaranteed owing to the fact there's no more empty land nearby. If got more people stay and also reasonable sale price then you can make a rough guess that price appreciation will come soon. People will be more incentivize to participate as a community to make the place better for living.

Aster is much better easy access by car or via mrt. Location is exclusive, peace and quiet.
