Between Ty’s distant and echo-like vocals, combined with his casually offbeat and muted flow, the song evokes a feeling of numbness while drifting through a sea of clouds. No particular direction, just deep reflection and thoughtfulness. I’m not a musician, but this strikes me as the kind of music that happens when you can’t put the emotions of your experience directly into words. The result seems to be more like an abstract painting, or a loose translation, with the message still there but also something deeper. As opposed to concrete lyricism and story-telling, with this song it’s more like we felt a piece of Ty’s soul.
