More than 5, though. People always forget about the survivors. Five dead, five more were injured. We know a few were released while others are still fighting for their lives and/limbs... at minimum they've all got PTSD for years ahead - and we still don't know what will happen with the officer ... shot in the head. So that makes 11 lives forever altered & doesn't include the effects on their families or witnesses. Six dead, and up to 100 lives were forever changed.

I worked in a bank as an 18 year old and was horribly bullied by the office bully, while the rest of the staff turned a blind eye, and I hated them all for it. I just quit when it got too much. This guy could have done that but was obviously nuts.

Same here. I grew up with weapons, (hunting family), was laid off, harassed, etc. I moved on, improved myself and all that experience actually gave me "a backbone", helped me evaluate myself. Sure, sometimes I may have been upset. Sometimes, it was not justified. Other times the employer was right. I had problems too. I did not get along with my stepmom and had to move out, sleep on friends' couches, even in my old car. However, never ever did I think of killing someone like a coward. I did have issues. My mom died, my younger brother died and my closest brother got institutionalized. I did start to drink, smoke weed and snort coke and dug a deep deep hole for myself. However, I think because I had a strong family foundation when I was younger, all went to church, I found eventually others who prayed for me. I asked the Lord for help, apologized to Him. Then I quit all drugs and drinking, I did return to God and started going to church and praying again and the Rosary. I love my job now and hopefully will retire in 10 years. I see a lot of young people are mentally sick because they are weak, ..very weak and cannot handle searching for ways to improve, rather despair and take down others with them. Pathetic actually, no coping capabilities...just be angry, stomp their feet and shoot....damn weak cowards

It doesn't work like this anymore. Recruiters red flag applications from people who were fired on their jobs. Once you're fired, you will most likely never get a job or will have a hard time getting one and be unemployed for months even years and face homelessness. This is what the US system is now today. The gunman knew he was facing this fate especially at a young age with not much work experience. I have Master's and continue to work on certification yet it is still not enough. I have a job that is not what I studied but if I lose it I may not find a retail job even for months. I already experience such nightmare of time wasting, unemployment despite having done everything right in terms of education and work experience. Hence, why I always save 90% of my check in case I end up in such scenario but it is understandable that some people cannot accept that fate and end up doing things like these because of the way the system is and how neo-Nazi, neo-Fascist ideology control the economic system and job market.

I bet He isn't the head of your home, family, day to day decisions, and I bet you don't worship and serve Him, but how easy it is to blame Him for something that isn't His fault. Adam and Eve sinned and brought this on all mankind. When Jesus died on the cross and rose again, He did it that we would have a chance to be with Him in Heaven, but the bible gives us free will. This stuff has happened ever since God made man. When will the devil ever get the blame for being the prince of darkness and author of confusion? He tempts people with these very things and if we aren't where we need to be with Christ, it is easier to do what satan wants us to do. If you would stop and look around at the things happening, such as the Biblical prophecy of the Euphrates River drying up,( regardless of how, it is still drying up..) the wars and rumors of wars, talk of one world governments, one world currencies, just to name a few, you would see the Bible is fulfilling itself
Jesus is so close to coming back that it is no wonder evil and destruction are climbing at an all time rate. Persecution of Christians for Christ name sake is happening all the time as well, and the Bible said it would. People, you better wake up. You think this is bad? I pray you get your heart right with Jesus now, because the tribulation time frame will be HELL on earth. If you don't make it in the rapture (a taking away) it will be harder to give your heart to Christ during the tribulation. Praying for your salvation in Jesus name. It's not a joke...

When society is driven by material success and doubles down on such a way of living all day long through social media, TV, radio. You are condemned to produce a heartless thankless generation who will not settle for anything less. When you are grounded in reality and always looking to others "below" you and appreciating what you have then your life has a meaning. This unhealthy drive of always wanting more and never content with less is what create these monsters (Boss and Employees) who see the world through a distorted capitalistic lenses. The office culture in the west is filled with hypocrisy, brown nosers, unhealthy competition where the top performer are not always the ones who gets ahead. An environment of backbiting , cut-throat where you are ready to push over your coworker to get ahead at all cost. Whether you are in the warehouse, office, factory, you have always people who takes time and make sure to treat you in a sadistic way because that's how they can satisfy their sick urges of wanting to feel superior or in charge. Remember people you don't live for work, you work to live. Whether you're rich or poor that moment you are laying down on your death bed nothing matter in that moment, your life will stream like a movie in a matter of seconds/minutes then no amount of fancy cars, jewellery , houses matters . All that matter is people who you touched and impacted in a positive way. those are the people who will cry dearly your absence. So treat people humanly and fairly during your passage through this world.

@@Matt-xv2cp , so what is it called when a conservative shoots up a place - conservatism? I think as Americans we need to understand that that pure evil exists in the hearts of men. Irrespective of political ideology, bad people are simply bad people and will do atrocious stuff, whether conservative or liberal. A murderer is simply a murderer no matter how you put. Those left to mourn the deaths of love ones don't experience less pain and loss because the murderer of their loved ones share their political beliefs.

I have been thinking about this idea. This seems to be the knee-jerk answer, "Why didn't someone see that he needed help and get it for him?" I am beginning to think that this generation of coddled and perpetually helped young people are encouraged to always find assistance outside themselves. For this reason I don't think that "help" would have helped this guy. I was raised in the 50s when children were given lots of discipline, obvious guardrails to stay inside for behavior, and the awareness that we were responsible for our failures and were expected to correct them the next time around. Age 25 is too late for meaningful intervention unless the individual recognizes personal responsibility and claims it.

My kids (19 and 17) have been part of code-red lockdowns at school, hiding under desks since Kindergarten...... a very sad situation.
