Im impressed with the posability of this figure. The blockiness kinda throws me off a tad ,but its not a deal breaker, so I WILL be getting this figure along with Sub Zero, Goro and ESPECIALLY the Shao Kahn, that one looked like a BEAST!!!

The positive feedback in this review is a great testament to the quality of the figure because although I am not a Mortal Kombat fan in the slightest sense, Storm is also producing figures from Street Fighter V which I do plan on getting. I can only hope that they are as good as this Scorpion.
redlol123 I just visited Ami Ami and compared those pics to how he looked when the prototype was initially shown of the figure. When the prototype was shown alot of the details were rough and unfinished. The chest sculpt was flat and not as defined and naturalistic and the face sculpts were off. Not to mention the color on the gi was flat. Actually it was the prototype that had me a little afraid as to how well they would turn out, but they went back and refined the sculpt which now has me sold.
Aaron Battey The sculpt may be better, but the paint seems like a step down. I'm not that upset since I was going to get figuarts Ryu anyway, but i'm glad you like it.
I wasn't planning on getting the figure but I will now. Great review! Strong start for the new kid on the block. I going to support them as long as they produce figures like this.

I'm with ya, I was never deep into actually playing Mortal Kombat, especially when it hit console. Block is not a button, it's back on the D pad!! But this has me wanting more, and I can't wait to see what the SF line is like. I was more into SF but if I'm being honest it was more Killer Instinct and Samurai Showdown for me.

I've got their Ryu preordered and this makes me look forward to the release. I'm a little apprehensive of the amount of soft plastics and it makes me worry about possible cracking and durability but I can't argue with the results. Thanks for this review I wasn't expecting it at all!
To be honest...I wasn't expecting it either. I had the same thought about the rubbery material but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. So far so good though. After a day or two, which probably gives no sort of comfort whatsoever, heh.

Range of motion looks loads better than I was expecting, but I'm still a little iffy on the proportions. Not too noticeable when posed though. What I'm really scratching my head over is that scale. What exactly were they going for? It doesn't seem to fit in with anything well. Perhaps it was a trick to get me to collect their whole lineup, in which case it kinda worked.

Wow, I thought the Mezco Toys Scorpion from Mortal Kombat X was great, but this one blows it out of the water. Of course this one's more expensive, but it also comes with a lot more stuff. I love that it comes with the skull, and fireball fatality.
good god this is awesome..ill def be picking this up along with goro and sub zero..im a little worried of getting burned though when it comes to more characters..like how mezco killed their line after 2 series..i dont want to have to keep starting over ya know..but this looks great..and with the scale it does leave room to make customs from other lines..i just hope in the end this line keeps going..great vid as always Robo
The Fwoosh Dude i just got my Revan from BBTS. Bad QC!!! Man that figure is loose from the waist down. I asked a friend if his came with the same problem and when he oppened it was loose from waist down as well. Im so pissed at Hasbro right now.
I still haven't tracked him down, and Amazon hasn't shipped my Sabine. If it gets too far into the next wave and I still don't have a Revan I'm not going to sweat it, but here I am, still hitting Gamestop every other day.

To me figuarts always seems to light. I do not collect figuarts only have held in hand a few Marvel action. I mostly collect Masterpiece Transformers and SOC however this warrants a purchase!

Very good review. I'm impressed by this figure's engineering and how much you can do with it, you showcased that fact at the end. I don't like the scale and the paintjob is kinda all over the place, but for the price it's a damn good deal. Storm Collectibles' RYU seems to have gotten worse luck than Scorpion, 'cause the pictures of the actual mass-produced figure and its articulation are noticeably worse than the prototype.
Damn, this looks so good. I did see pictures of this online recently, but this review made me weep for my wallet. Hope they make a Sub Zero (My favourite character as a kid) & a Raiden, then I'd be content personally. Loved the intro by the way.
I'm sure it would have to be in the line, but it would've been cool if you did a double header review with the sub-zero figure(if they have it) it is a cool figure tho. Might look into it

Seeing this review definitely reassures me that the SFV Ryu & Bison preorders I put in a while back are going to be pretty decent..just hope that these start releasing soon due to the fact that storm still won't give a solid date for release
BBTS shows a Special Edition Version any details on what comes with that? Not that I needed something else to start collecting, but these look great. The Goro and Shao Kahn look fantastic.
That's my biggest fear. I started collecting the Mezco ones but they stopped at just 6 figures. I hope with this line, we can at least get the characters from the first game.
Goro and Shao Kahn look great. But I want them to go deep and don't Mezco me. Great Scorpion and I assume the other 3 figures coming up will be the same. I want them to commit to the line, but as of now, I am getting this and Sub and Kahn and Goro.

Damn this looks better then a 2010-2015 Shfiguarts. It kinda reminds of Articulated Icons (from video/pics, I still haven't held either in hand) But now I'm REALLY psyched for the Storm Collectibles Street Fighter figures!! AND.. i just pre ordered scorpion and sub zero,, Looks like the action figure ive always wanted,. I hope we get more of them down the line like kitana and mileena.. Reptile and smoke too.. Hell, all of them.. Looks too awesome to pass up.. $50/each is a hurter though... cant wait to display them on my shelf.. I passed on the previous lines because they didnt look right to me but these look perfect..

I went to check the bbts listing and they offer a special edition version of both scorpion and sub zero, but don't have any details on what makes them special other than the fact that they say only one of these figures comes per case (the rest being normal versions) any info on what it might be (I'm thinking they're just bloody versions) but if you have any more info it'd be greatly appreciated
Hi @fwoosh, does the rubber material on this figure gets sticky after a while? Someone told me SC figures rubber "melts" or feels sticky after sometimes
I love this scorpion I think that this is the best one that has been created thus far also the subzero .I have both preordered thanks to fwoosh I now know that they are finally hitting the U.S.thanks just to note The unmasked face looks different than the cooler one that I saw with a half human half skeleton face from a video of comic con.

I'm not sure about value, I figure these will get harder to get as the line gets more popular. More and more people get into the line but want to go back and pick up older figures. These will be hard to get.

Is it one of those figures where it gets loose like the MAFEX boba fett? Or is it something like the marvel legends where it doesn't get super loose? Maybe somewhere in the middle?
I did all of these poses and articulation demonstration and it's still as tight as when it came out of the box. And what do you do to your figures? Both of my MAFEX Fetts are still good as new when it comes to joints.
The Fwoosh Well I don't have any of the Bobas but I saw how it can actually get loose. I saw a other reviewer and the boba they had has a loose leg. I guess you gotta be extra careful with them

I wish these weren't so expensive, I've been a mortal kombat fan since I was little and the fact these figures are so pricey sucks I know why though, the amount of articulation and the accessories and detail in the figure of it is all well, but it sucks though, all I have is this toys r us exclusive 4 pack with smoke, reptile,sub-zero-scorpion although the articulation is a tad bit terrible but yeah this scorpion is sick though also the box as well

Dammit, the articulation here is PERFECT, but the scale is wayy off to me. I think he fits in better with 7" figures as a 5'8"-ish Japanese dude than a 6'7" huge wrestler guy next to 6" figures. I only collect 6"... but I still kinda really want it!
William Tang I only collect 6 inch too, but for contained lines I don't mind going up half an inch. it's like how SHF, DC Icons, and ML are all slightly different scales. But quickly looking, Scorpion's height is listed as 6'2". Arnold is listed as 6'2". So this is smaller than 7 inch, but slightly larger than 6 inch.
Maybe I can convince myself to fudge the scale, cause this guy is awesome. Either way, super happy to see a new company bringing new quality stuff to the table!
Thanks for comparing this with Dutch. I like my figures 1/10 so knowing this scales close enough is enough for me to buy one. My guess is it's 1/11. It's not a 1/12 and its not really 1/10 so must be in the middle.
Dammit man, I had zero interests in this figure. Sure I love MK growing up. Scorpion was my fav under Kabal for MK3, but I was not interested in opening a can of worms with a MK collection. Especially when I was a bit meh with Mezco's offerings. Seeing that great thought out engineering of articulation that doesn't make it look like an ugly Revo figure, while allowing a very broad and almost organic amount of motion....I damn need this now. Damn!

Look at the pictures released by ami ami of Ryu. He's not as good as the prototype at all.

Ami ami released photos of the final product for Ryu. He does not look as good as the prototype. Just stick to the MK line and go for Figuarts Ryu.

I couldn't get Tiger Stripe Wolvie at NYCC so I got this, my fave MK character,.. and now I sorta want Sub-Zero and maybe Reptile...
If you like this, definitely get the rest. I saw they were showing Rain, Ermac, and Smoke at NYCC too. Insane.

Sub-Zero is coming a lot quicker than you may think. Like TK01 said, they've also shown Shao Khan and Goro at shows but no solicitation yet.

OrionPax81 If I understand correctly, the special edition is a blood covered Fatality version. Don't quote me on that though.

That's my biggest fear. I started collecting the Mezco ones but they stopped at just 6 figures. I hope with this line, we can at least get the characters from the first game.
Goro and Shao Kahn look great. But I want them to go deep and don't Mezco me.
Great Scorpion and I assume the other 3 figures coming up will be the same. I want them to commit to the line, but as of now, I am getting this and Sub and Kahn and Goro.
If you buy their stuff, you'll tell them to keep going.

This is exactly what I'm afraid of :/ I would love to buy both Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter lines from Storm Collectibles (same scale) but if they will cancel both lines after few figures it's pointless :/ We had many Scorpion and Sub-Zero figures so buying new ones is pointless too... if line wont be continued. Damn this looks better then a 2010-2015 Shfiguarts. It kinda reminds of Articulated Icons (from video/pics, I still haven't held either in hand) But now I'm REALLY psyched for the Storm Collectibles Street Fighter figures!! AND.. I got a computer for xmas & I hope to learn much better editing techniques then onmy smartphone I currently do cuts/short stop motion like Transformations @end of my reviews. Started with a camera I couldn't pause so I had to get it right from start to finish with no stops. But I been getting great feedback on my channel now & ever since my inception in late 2015. You def will b seein more &more of me bc "This is my bag.! Ya baby!" - Austin Powers. ;)
The Street Fighter line is still being worked on, should hear more about that in January. And yeah, before they got shipped out to their distributors.

i just pre ordered scorpion and sub zero,, Looks like the action figure ive always wanted,. I hope we get more of them down the line like kitana and mileena.. Reptile and smoke too.. Hell, all of them.. Looks too awesome to pass up.. $50/each is a hurter though... cant wait to display them on my shelf.. I passed on the previous lines because they didnt look right to me but these look perfect..
And they move so nice in-hand, the best part is the posing.

hmmm, the promo shots shows that the checkerboard pattern on his gi are suppose to have panel lining.But other than that its looks great.
There is a faint paint wash there not consistent. It helps define it a little but not heavy at all.
I went to check the bbts listing and they offer a special edition version of both scorpion and sub zero, but don't have any details on what makes them special other than the fact that they say only one of these figures comes per case (the rest being normal versions) any info on what it might be (I'm thinking they're just bloody versions) but if you have any more info it'd be greatly appreciated
I'm pretty sure they are Fatality versions, with blood splatter.

Hi @fwoosh, does the rubber material on this figure gets sticky after a while? Someone told me SC figures rubber "melts" or feels sticky after sometimes
Mine seems to be fine. I've seen that on older Legends and such though.

The unmasked face looks different than the cooler one that I saw with a half human half skeleton face from a video of comic con.

I'm not sure about value, I figure these will get harder to get as the line gets more popular. More and more people get into the line but want to go back and pick up older figures. These will be hard to get.

Is it one of those figures where it gets loose like the MAFEX boba fett? Or is it something like the marvel legends where it doesn't get super loose? Maybe somewhere in the middle?
I did all of these poses and articulation demonstration and it's still as tight as when it came out of the box. And what do you do to your figures? Both of my MAFEX Fetts are still good as new when it comes to joints.

Well I don't have any of the Bobas but I saw how it can actually get loose. I saw a other reviewer and the boba they had has a loose leg. I guess you gotta be extra careful with them

Ryan Tran That's a tough call. The SHF will be cool, but if these are any indication of the quality of the SF, they are going to be awesome too.
I recomend getting both. I'm getting Figuarts for Ryu and Chun, and Storm for Bison.
but will the Bison gonna fit with SH figuarts scale?
Ryan Tran I don't really care. I'll put a NECA next to a fiugma for all I care, as long as it looks close enough I'm ok.
I wish these weren't so expensive, I've been a mortal kombat fan since I was little and the fact these figures are so pricey sucks I know why though, the amount of articulation and the accessories and detail in the figure of it is all well, but it sucks though, all I have is this toys r us exclusive 4 pack with smoke, reptile,sub-zero-scorpion although the articulation is a tad bit terrible but yeah this scorpion is sick though also the box as well

Dammit, the articulation here is PERFECT, but the scale is wayy off to me. I think he fits in better with 7" figures as a 5'8"-ish Japanese dude than a 6'7" huge wrestler guy next to 6" figures.
I only collect 6"... but I still kinda really want it!
William Tang I only collect 6 inch too, but for contained lines I don't mind going up half an inch. it's like how SHF, DC Icons, and ML are all slightly different scales. But quickly looking, Scorpion's height is listed as 6'2". Arnold is listed as 6'2". So this is smaller than 7 inch, but slightly larger than 6 inch.
Maybe I can convince myself to fudge the scale, cause this guy is awesome. Either way, super happy to see a new company bringing new quality stuff to the table!

Thanks for comparing this with Dutch. I like my figures 1/10 so knowing this scales close enough is enough for me to buy one. My guess is it's 1/11. It's not a 1/12 and its not really 1/10 so must be in the middle.
Hands are a bit out of proportion but overall it looks great. Some skin masking (toning) would also make him look more realistic.
Hope they eventually make a Reptile figure, (If they aren´t making one already)

Dammit man, I had zero interests in this figure. Sure I love MK growing up. Scorpion was my fav under Kabal for MK3, but I was not interested in opening a can of worms with a MK collection. Especially when I was a bit meh with Mezco's offerings. Seeing that great thought out engineering of articulation that doesn't make it look like an ugly Revo figure, while allowing a very broad and almost organic amount of motion....I damn need this now. Damn!
