I love coming back to your old videos to see the storm figs. It's looking like a great (but expensive) year for mk storm figs! My biggest gripe is I wish they would give us an option for the Liu kang, dragon or no dragon, or sell the dragon alone.

I was planning on waiting for BBTS to get subzero in stock before ordering it like I did with scorpion, but decided to place my preorder. Word of mouth is going to make getting these figures impossible without paying a higher price on the secondary market.

I sold off my entire collection a couple years ago, essentially so I could refocus my attention/direction. It felt like I had too many figures from too many different lines and my OCD couldn't handle that. I decided on sticking with just Masterpiece Transformers (1st and 3rd party releases), and for the past year I've managed to stay on track and within that focus... Until now, these guys look too good to pass on... they really do look amazing.

As for the soft hands on this figure, Sideshow Collectibles usually has soft hands as well.

Wow! These look awesome I need to get both the SF and MK lines. I saw these at SDCC last year I'm glad they got produced. Remember that CAPO toys Company that went under before making anything.
yeah. some of their stuff looked good but they had some serious issues.

thats weird that they label it 1:12, i dont think scorpion was 7 feet tall lol maybe Shao Kahn or Goro, however that does not affect my high opinion of this figure, hard to believe a new player in the action figure game came out hitting this heavy, i thought the promo pics were just that, promo pics, but the figures look as good or better than them lol great review

Erndaworm I like their scale it makes perfect sense especially if u scale them next to a Neca Predator well Predator are over 7 feet tall so these are perfect

ive been waiting waiting for sub-zero and scorpion to have high quality action figures since before i was born
well, i made a custom sub zero figure using an old 6 inch silver surfer with an inverted zipper that i made to look like the blue dress. I just glued the dress to the lower torso and when it crunches it gives me the same efect you are showing at 8:07.. i think is natural to that type of dress to work like that... it doesnt need the wrinkles, it just needs to be glued to the lower torso. at least with the cloth it happens. Im lloking at this plastic and i see its glued on the bottom so, maybe. Great vid.
aand.. those 3.5 inch marvel legends showdown figures had the same kind of joints in the feet. i miss that so much... xd
this guy looks amazing. I have never wanted a mortal kombat figure because of their usual shoddy articulation. but this guy looks great. like a neca/import figure hybrid.

Hey Anthony, just noticed that this figure is different from the pictures we see when he was first announced/on BBTS image. His shoulder cloth are outline black and this one is just yellow with no outline. Awesome review. Keep it up!
yeah. they showed updated designs a few months back. looks much better now. much less black.
Anthony I know you're tired of hearing about the Mezco clothed figures but one of the many reasons I love the BVS Batman figure so much is that it also uses very soft hands. It's one of the first things I noticed when I got him open, it's such a nice feel swapping the hands and he can wrap his fingers subtly around things just like Scorpion. Anyway, sweet review and sweet looking figure. I'm definitely gonna stand my ground and pass for now because I'm just not a big enough fan of video games to start investing in this new line. But damn, they look awesome!
Thats funny because i just got done reviewing the armored batman from mezco and spent the whole time thinking i was going to break the wrists because the hands were hard plastic lol.
Hm that's strange. I'm not familiar with the armored Batman figure, I think it looks terrible (again, I agree with you that overall the line looks like Megos and this is definitely one of them). The regular Batman from BVS has really soft hands. And again, of all the Mezco figures I think he's by FAR the best one to date.

Really sucks these guys (Scorpion and Sub-Zero) sky rocketed in prices, felt like getting them till I realized you can't get Sub-Zero any cheaper than $150 and Scorpion under $250, and the articulation on the Mezco MK figures you reviewed a while back makes it hard for me to buy them. I like the games but man I hope there's a reissue or something. Great review, I always appreciate your honesty in every figure you review.
Are you sure they're that high?
My bad- for new ones yeah they're pretty high, for used they're cheaper on like eBay, around $100 a piece Then there are bids on eBay but I never really liked bidding since there's not even a set price. The other websites I checked have them out of stock. My best guess is that maybe the company stopped manufacturing them so they're sort of rare, and people are most likely going to raise prices when selling them, same thing that happens to lots of other action figures from like Sh Figuarts and Figma and stuff like that.
Edit: Are there any places you recommend I check? I may have missed them.
Great review and so is this figure.. I would've liked the spear rope to be longer, wavy, and wrap around his wrist mid way like in the game.. It only comes out of his hand in the movie.. Damn near if not a perfect MK figure nonetheless... It would be awesome if you can take off Scorpion's head and put it on the spine Sub-Zero comes with too..Then he can be posed holding his head with the spin attached like the fatality.. Minor nitpicks but those little touches make these accessories so much better.. Do the Ryu figure soon bro!
I admire your critique on everything whether its good or bad.. You underline it so these (sometimes lazy) sculptors do a better job hopefully.. I hope Sub-Zero can be posed to shoot his ice similar to Ryu's hadoken instead of one handed.. He doesnt do that in MK 1 or 2 or 3.. He also shoots ice on the ground which would be cool.. No pun intended.. We'll see soon enough i guess..

companies doesnt seem to know what scale means anymore... 18cm in a 1:12 figure leads to a 2,16m character. since scorpion is based on a 1.8m guy (according to MK wikia), this figure should be 1:10 scale... other than that, its a very very nice figure.

Well now I'm disappointed I decided to pass on him. I'm pretty happy with my Mezco. But he'll look real good with NECA Predators and Aliens. My only concern with the heavy use of soft plastics in durability. I'm wondering how long until they harden and start to crack and tear.

i wouldn't expect there to be any fakes at all at this point but that's especially true for the high prices. the fakes always come in cheaper to entice buyers.
