I was the same as you. I loved the Birkin but I found myself grabbing the Kelly all the time and really not reaching much for the Birkin. And I’m not sure why that was. All I can say is I am now a total Kelly girl. Great review Kat!
Hi Kat, I bought the exact same bag in Dec 21, so price slightly cheaper than now.. It was my first qb, so I cant compare it to a B. I also seldom use it, but when I use it, like you said, the happiness that I feel, cant be replaced by any other item. It's so perfect! 🥰 So no regrets so far...
I have none of the issues you mentioned with my K25 probably bc mine is retourne togo phw and I am 95% casual. At first I wasn't sure knowing most people prefer sellier but after your review, I definitely bought the right bag for me. Thanks Kat for an always honest review! 🫶🏻
I just got the Kelly 25 retourne and this is THE bag! I will use it a ton and travel with it for sure! My Kelly in sellier doesn’t have the same easy going functionality!

I have K25 & K28 (both are Sellier), and I found that K28 is much much easier to open and close the bag, so that’s why ppl like to carry K28 more to the airport than K25 in terms of more capacity and easier access to the bag. I recently got K25 Sellier in Ostrich, although it isn’t as stiff as Epsom, it’s still hard to open and close the bag.
Such a stunning bag Kat, absolutely beautiful. I take my k25 to the airport all the time, never had any issues! It is a Togo tho, so maybe that makes the difference.

@@sarah0098 I do! Mine are both neutrals but other than that they are as different from each other as they could be. One is light and one dark. One sellier and one retourne. One gold hardware and one palladium. They are also different leathers. I love and wear them both.

I am very curious, because there are a lot of listed (inflated) price online, but actually they are not sold at all. If one buy from boutique, need to have around 1:1 ratio on other spend minimum plus actual price of the bag. In order to actually get your money back, need to pay reselling fees (typically around 30%), so at best, you might make a little delta difference ONLY if the bag is pretty pristine. I have a Kelly too, love it, but so many people say they are investment. This is only if you have bought them years ago. They are not to me, the maths don’t add up, plus they are not selling at inflated prices. There are so many around too. ❤ interested to hear any thoughts from others.

I think it looks great styled super casual like even a baggy sweatsuit and trainers. I think it would be overly sharp if you were wearing a suit and this bag also. Rebag has ads with a girl wearing a neutral sweatsuit and a sellier etoupe Kelly and it looks so cool,the juxtaposition really highlights the bag ^^

This is a helpful review. I agree the sellier is a more formal bag. I have a kelly on my wishlist but it’s in the retourne style. I’m pretty casual and prefer the unstructured look. This bag looks great on you. A k25 in noir retourne with phw would be my holy grail kelly. I think with regard to whether it’s worth it, i do think so given the craftsmanship and the history of the brand. It’s the bag grace kelly carried. These are handmade and I understand they are harder to make than the Birkin. Even Chanel classics are about the 10k usd and the Birkin and Kelly are not much more. I think when you’re up in this handbag price range and quality you have to just close your eyes and know that what you are purchasing is lifetime bag. A forever bag to cherish. Gold is my favorite color. I’m obsessed with my Goldie. I have her on my dresser bc I can’t hardly believe I own her. I want to just carry it everywhere. Enjoy the bag! Don’t think about the cost. 😄
Like you described in your Kelly review, I found my Lady Dior difficult to get my belongings in and out of. I get really annoyed with bags with cumbersome closures but I agree yours is stunning! Thank you for the review and waiting for Hermes to come out with a "mushroom" leather as I'm vegan!!!! They were supposed to introduce the Victoria bag in this last year but I think with the pandemic it go put on hold. ❤️

Yes I have K25 Sellier and B25 both in black and GHW… I prefer the Kelly more though. I got my Kelly 25 in 2020 maybe it was cheaper then. B25 I got it in January this year it was still cheaper than my K25 Sellier in 2020!

I think it could be easier ,though I didn’t have an easier time with my k32. But I wonder if it’s because the k32 was so much bigger.
