Hi Shurfa, that's great to know it turned out well for you! I would not keep the mixture for more than 3 days in the refrigerator. Just store it like any other leftovers that you put in the fridge. The sooner you use, the better especially if you have handled the mixture with fingers. :) I have not tried freezing it, so I apologize, I can't really give you an accurate answer to that.
What kind of fish is that? How do prep the fish before adding in the pot? Thank you for making your videos in english! I am not sri lankan or tamil but my husband is and i having been look for tamil cooking in english for a long time!!!
Hi Radhika, so glad you found my channel! The fish is canned Mackerel. It's the most common canned fish that's used in Sri Lanka and is the popular choice for making cutlets or any filling (in pastries or buns) that requires fish. You can also make it with canned tuna. The mackerel tastes more nostalgic in my opinion. Hope this helps :)
Frikadells....Can be made with either fish or beef, and though not traditional, I guess chicken would work too. Beef or chicken would probably require longer cooking time.
I don't think there would be any violation. These little miracles were always included in lampries and that is what we called them. I find your tutorials very inspiring. Thanks for your good work.
True. Although fish cutlets (which these are) are a substitute to the authentic beef frikkadells in lampries. Thank you for recognizing my work. The pleasure is all mine!
I may be mis-remembering, but I think I recall that there were 'fish balls' in my grand-aunt's lampries. Oh no, the pleasure is not all yours by any means. I was up till four a.m because I could not tear myself away from the computer. I can't adequately express all the emotions I felt while watching your uploads. Many thanks!
Thank you very much. Wish you good luck
Thank you! You too! 💜
