You must remember Lincoln that for decades now, Netanyahu has never really wanted peace with the Palestinians. He has even funded Hammas at times to keep it from happening. When he started taking over their homes, allowing Israelis to settle into the west end of Gaza, that's all that was needed to keep hammas at war. If he had done the right thing to implement a two state solution, the Israelis & Palestinians would be at peace now.
Of course, but we should also remember that Hamas doesn't want peace either. Not everything Hamas does is a reaction to Israel. They have agency of their own and should be held responsible for their actions as well.
