  • In this instructional video, I introduce and take a close look at the New Duotone Foil Wing, explain how to rig the wing for riding, adjust the boom for power, and how to carry the Foil Wing and your hydrofoil board to the water. Let me know any feedback or questions you may have in the comments. Thanks for watching and subscribe if you want to see more. Special Thanks to Chris Emerick for the footage.

    Hey Dan, thanks for the awesome videos! I'm purchasing a Duotone 5.0 wing and plan on using it with my SUP initially (can't quite afford the foil board setup right now). What do you think of using it with a regular windsurfing board with a daggerboard, to help go upwind?

    • @danyak101
      @danyak101  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Soumds great you will love it. Yes a windsurf board with a daggerboard will allow you learn and stay upwind much easier than a regular sup board. Have fun!

      I work for Fanatic and Duotone and help with some development and sales of SUP and Foil Wing gear. But Epic Boardsports, Big Winds, and any Duotone or Fanatic dealer should be getting stuff soon. A bit behind after underestimating how popular the Foil Wing would actually become.

    • @danyak101
      @danyak101  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The board I am.on has the plate mount for the foil because its a Foil board from Fanatic this has become the standard in the industry and much stronger than the Tuttle mount option.

      I'm 5'11", 190 pounds, never foiled but SUP surfed. I'm starting out with a Naish 122L Hydrofoil board, Naish Wing Surfer and 2019 Abracadabra L foil. Similar setup should work for you I believe.

    • @danyak101
      @danyak101  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      My recommendation would be the 2020 Sky SUP board. The 6.11 or 6.7ft would be the ticket, the Vectornet boards are 1399.00 and tough with top of industry Cobra mfg which is the creme de la creme of molded boards which are by far the strongest. Very important for these types of boards to be tough because they get beat up easily. For a foil, I would recommend the Fanatic Aero 2000 or 2500. The bigger gear allows you to learn faster but like anything else as soon as you learn you will want smaller gear that's why I mentioned both options.

      @@danyak101 having the fanatic aero 2000 will that allow me to glide easier. Thats my goal in less wind. Ive seen people struggle to glide in 12mph winds I need something that allows me to get up and stay upabove the water in 10 mph wind. Will this do that? Sorry if my question dont make sence. Im learning. Something easy to pump and stay above the water. Not worried about the price. That's not a factor

    • @danyak101
      @danyak101  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Duotone is simply a brand that makes wings, kites, and wind surfing gear, like a Ford or Chevy that makes all kinds vehicles for example.
