Btw Kyle, AMD is officially launching Ryzen 5000 Threadripper pro CPUs to the DIY market instead of OEM pre-builds. But they’re only being sold by more than $4k, possibly for keeping competition alive instead of slightly being downgraded for something that’s already OP by itself. Meaning it’s gonna be extremely perfect for you to upgrade both the CPU and GPU for proper next gen hardware. Since the ThreadRipper Pro is gaining 128gb of PCIE 4.0 lanes

Imagine getting a brand new expensive car like a Lamborghini. Then don’t bother starting it up and leave it to sit for years outside. Dust and sun wear beat on the car causing damage because you were so privileged and didn’t actually need the car. Years down the road you finally are like, “I guess I could start up this Lamborghini for the first time since I got it.” You go to start it up and it doesn’t turn over, the battery is dead because the alternator never kept the battery charged due to never starting the car for years. You replace the battery but the car is already beaten and damaged from the lack of attention and care. Now you go to start it up again with a new battery applied… now you realize you left the keys in the car and the doors are locked. Your community let you know that you should have a spare set of keys in your house. You acknowledge common sense and go get the keys to open the car and see that the interior lights even turned on when you opened the door. Now you start the car and show it off to the community but the damage is already done, you had a brand new car and ignore it for years then make common sense seem rare like you don’t have any.
Yes you may have finally given it attention finally after years but this means nothing when you say “I am waiting until I got a new model alternator when it comes out” so we will watch the 5 minutes of fame you show the community of this car. The next day it will just be set aside again until the next gen alternator comes out… what a waste.
We don’t appreciate the ignorance of a privileged TH-camr.

Depends on what your own preferences for acoustics are. Given the 3090Ti’s cooling performance, their fan coolers were extremely well designed and operate with much less fan speeds than its predecessors. However, 40 series will definitely be hotter (TDP) and thus introduce a new variable for cooler design requirements. I think the thermal capacity of water will be capable of cooling both a 40-series and Threadripper cpu quite well as a given, but the new cooler design for 40-series will be hit or miss. Imo get some thicker rads @ the 360mm shown in this video, and you should be good to go for both power hungry components. A better/faster pump-reservoir should help as well.

his "old news" card, would about be the upper limit of what this system could effectivly use... heh...
Anyway, i would share the loop, but the way i would set it up is a bit... odd... i would have the hot and cold sides of each rad linked dual pump in push/pull dump the hot from both sides into the shared hot side pool and pull water for the cool side from the cool side of the pool, overall this should give the best results...
we use to build manafolds from copper plubing tubing back in the day.. infact, took us 9mo back in the early 2k's to build a steam punk pc that was cooled with solid copper tubing barring a short flex tube to each block, there was no elegant way to hard tube the entire system back then, it was as close as we could get, and, that systems still up and running, the fellow actually ran the loop with some stuff that gives the copper a faith tarnish to the surface inside and seals it, so it wont slowly green the water/coolent, we used 4 old all copper heater cores solderd togather for front and 3 for top of the system, when we re-built it a few years back we actually switched it to noctua ippc fans with a 3d printed shroud duct and ducting foam making the whole thing one hell of alot more efficient...i kid not when i say, an extra 500mhz on the core better... we actually setup a dual res back then, with a hot side and cold side, put a fish tank stick on thermo on the hot one so you could see it threw the case window, we replaced the stick on with a new one when we re-did it, outside that its working great, even the water blocks still considered one of the better ones from what we found, hes quite happy with it again, when his daughter got him a chip that lets him max out that platform and overclock even better... hes set for a couple-few more years with the O/C they managed...

If it is anything like the 3090, at least water cool the vram... good gravy they get hot. I wasn't even gaming on it, but we were using it for rendering.

I was going to say aircool the GPU, then I saw what it looked like w/ the GPU in the loop, and now there's no question --
    LOOP THE WHOLE THING!

I think you should have the 40-series card on the custom waterloop like intended. It seems easy to be done when the 40-series cards arrive and you place it in the case, but I think you will regret not watercooling it considering you have the radiator already waiting there for it.

9:00 With that much radiator, water cool both.

You could test the air cooled 2080ti system temps versus the in loop 2080ti temps, and see how much increase in heat the system has, and figure out the headroom in cooling capacity for the extra wattage of the 4090 to determine if you want to add it in loop when you get it.

If the 4090 founders edition is the same silver and black colors as the 3000 series it would match nicely with the air cooler and you could always add a water block if it needs it later. .

First: Well the GPU actually looks nice enough and fits the build just air cooled.
After putting full water block and the tubing: NOPE, you gotta water cool both CPU and CARD!
Also cause the 4090 prolly run hot.
No doubt, that GPU with those blocks, silver fitting and backplate and tubing looks HELLA nice. Watercooled GPU all day.

Honestly, for a workstation, keep the gpu air cooled, it isn't being compromised by the hot CPU, although try finding a silver gpu or paint a gpu silver!

That “no signal” thing happens to me a lot. My display always turns on but my monitor is one of the fastest to turn fully on 😂

Been around computers since MS-DOS version 1 days and seen things over the decades. I noticed some motherboards has a feature where it won't post unless it detects RPM on the CPU fan header. That feature is nothing new it's been around for quite some time.

Maybe the 4000 MT/s RAM will post if you overclock the CPU's FCLK to 2000MHz, but I'm not sure
FCLK is the CPU's memory controller speed, although it might also be possible that your motherboard or CPU simply don't support that high of a speed

start adding all your inventory into your pc data base or do it the old fashion way write and keep a inventory log
