Robin, I read such a lovely and inspiring quote recently and I thought of you immediately! Here it is.....
" The way you keep your house, the way you organize your time, the care you take in your personal appearance, the things you spend your money on all speak loudly about what you believe. 'The beauty of Thy peace' shines forth in an ordered life. "

That is beautiful! Look what was in my morning devotional just today (from an old book of Puritan prayers and devotions): "Sanctify and prosper my domestic devotion, instruction, discipline, example, that my house may be a nursery for heaven, my church the garden of the Lord, enriched with trees of righteousness of thy planting, for thy glory..."

So excited to see that your kitchen is finally reaching completion! The range hood is gorgeous! Oh, and I'll definitely try the trick with the hard boiled eggs. I get frustrated when they don't peel, especially when I need to peel more than two or three at once (I know...first world problem!). LOVE those binders! Last year I started to write out my tried-and-true recipes and organize them into a binder for my daughter. If I haven't made it and unless it's one that I go back to again and again, it doesn't go in the book. I write them out because I want her to have something more personal than a print-out (although I use and file print-outs as well). Really enjoyed this video, Robin. I think I'll be rewatching this one!

You have such a calm way of speaking and walking. A real contrast to my hectic movements.🙂 Where I live we have a small round gadget, where you press the egg into and a needle comes up to poke the egg. It is a safe way not to smouch the egg incidentally. One thing you should consider: You blocked the air vent holes of your microwave. 😯Not only could this be a fire hazard but it could damage the binders if there is hot wet air coming out or rather trying to come out.

Happy New Week! As always, THANKS for this upload 🤗. I totally agree with you about ROUTINES, MAKING ONE'S BED FIRST THING IN THE MORNING, and CLEANING AS YOU GO. I honestly cannot say how much of my everyday approach to life is uniquely my own because my parents reared us by installing these very same house keeping strategies. We were not allowed to leave a dirty kitchen after meals were cooked. We cleaned the dishes, wiped down the appliances, and mopped up the kitchen floors after each meal. We also were expected to have our beds made before we went to school; AND Saturday mornings were earmarked for household chores that needed done before we could do anything else 🤣. I know many children grow up to establish household routines of their very own, but my adult life isn't much different from the values my parents taught me; and they're basically the same tips and tricks that we've instilled in our kids. Perhaps the one thing that we do in our homes that's different from my upbringing is the removal of our shoes upon entering the Foyer or Mudroom. This tradition is normal for my Moroccan born husband, but I also discovered that the home carpeting and flooring stays cleaner when we're not tracking in the dirt and oil from outdoors. Our hardwood floors also aren't scratched nearly as often, if at all, from small bits of glass or stone trapped in the crevices of the soles on our shoes. Have a Great Week Ahead!

Your kitchen is beautiful - the brick style splash back is very classy. We have had our bathroom tiled recently and the tiler used the same third spacing of the tiles - I wasn’t convinced about this, my husband was, so third spacing it was to be! I am so pleased that I did take his advice! I have to say I am over the moon with how it turned out. Have a good week Robin and thank you🙏🙋‍♀️. Ps great tip about the eggs👏👏

Hi good day everyone. Here in Germany, they sell egg cookers that come with a measuring cup and at the bottom of the cup, outside, theres a poker. Looks like a needle . And use the same way as what ms Robin did. 😍In this case, the purpose is for steam to come out while cooking, thus avoiding the eggs to crack. ❤️❤️

I loved it when you said you like to keep things tidy and company ready...makes me wish I could drop by for a little visit, lol! But fortunately, I sort of can; by watching your videos! I enjoyed seeing Austin hard at work on squirrel duty...he obviously puts his whole heart into his job! As you were peeling your boiled eggs, I was reminded of a new trick I recently discovered that I wanted to share. One day as I was prepping eggs for egg salad, and it came time to chop the eggs, an idea hit me...why not use my hand held pastry cutter [with blades] to chop them up? It worked like a charm, and they were done in just a few seconds! The bean salad looked so hearty and refreshing for these warm summer evenings! And lastly, your new notebooks are so lovely and cheerful...a lot like you : ) Pam

Kitchen looks great! I do my eggs in the Instant Pot. Easy peel every time no matter freshness. 1 1/2 cups water, use the metal insert that keeps them off bottom, manual with , Low pressure, 6-7 mins, quick release and then ice bath. That usually leaves the yolks not quite hard - a little dark yellow in center (like yours look).

Great progress and recipe. I love using binders and page protectors. I do that for my dream journal, recipes, gaming guides for the times I can't look up the information, and general notes. I love a large binder to keep all of my journal entries together. I need lots if recipes as Lee and our son Daniel get bored of foods so I'll have to rotate through them. I may do smaller binders per type of recipe like appetizer, breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and snacks. I do a quick stew of canned diced tomatoes, canned corn, and canned black beans. I drain and rinse the beans. I add the rest with all their liquid. You can season it any way you like. I've been loving Cavender's Greek Seasoning in most of my savory dishes.

Yes, you are right, the reset the of house is important. Even if you floors and windows are clean when everything is laying around doesn’t look good. It’s my problem, I know.
So I’m motivated to to put away two instructions one for new grill and the second for new Shark vacuum cleaner. I just got it and I’m happy, thank you Robin. All done. There are few things after my beach day today, but I will put it away very soon, I promise.
I love your new kitchen, you put a lot of effort in designing it not mentioned installing everything. Great job! Looks great and I love drawers instead shelves. They are more easy to use it.
Enjoy your new house and keep posting new videoed please.

I really appreciate the hard boiled egg trick! I just made a deviled egg potato salad for the 4th and let’s just say…I’m glad I cut up the eggs and tossed them. 1/4 of the white peeled off!
I’m going to go through all of my recipes and order the binders! So excited for that 🤗

Thank you Kathy! You are the first to comment on the spider! I was worried that it wouldn't go over well! He/she has been living on our porch for a while now. I'm not a spider lover, but it's a writing spider - they catch all the bugs and reminds me of Charlotte's Web. 😄🕸💛

I always put a small hole in the fat end of the egg before boiling. It helps to prevent the eggs from cracking when they go into the water. You really only need the tiniest of pin holes, I use a push pin like you use on a bulletin board. Also when putting them into the cold water I crack them then put into the cold water, it seems to make them easier to peel. Your home is lovely!

That's a great tip about the hard-boiled eggs. I'm not sure if I have some wire to use to make the hole, but I was thinking it might work with a wooden skewer.
