Your comments on the relative speeds of the mobile and PC versions of the game - on an ipad (dunno about android tablets) with a keyboard and mouse attached, I find it almost competitive. The main distinction is that the mobile version does not recognise the mouse scroll wheel, slowing troop numbers selection. But it would be a simple change to make...
I was thinking that purple botted on purpose as soon as they returned. As the first player they were not in a good spot in the trade order so by scumbag botting they can card skip without making it look like they card skipped. While they do lose a few cards from this play, they make up for it by preserving troops because nobody has any incentive to hit what they perceive to be a neutral bot, which means they attack each other instead, thereby making purple stronger by comparison since their troops still get placed every turn while they are gone.
Man Pete, I have a new found respect for those at the top of the leaderboard... I climb it get in the 200's even 100's a few times only to take one noob slam and get dropped down to off leaderboard or as I write currently 888 (I dont have alts). ... Just last night "Europeee Progggggresssive CAPITALS" dude slams my 6 cap turn one... loses badly, turns around turn 2 slams it again at 10 v 10 gets positive roll. I am sitting on 2. cap gets snaked by another player of course, I am out by turn 3 in 6th....Thats the Risk we have I guess. OH and if you have SMG ear... "glove slap" emoji is a fantastic idea, also a "Fuck you" type of emoji... an emoji with the gravitas to convey how much your think of some players. ..sorry, I am a little vindictive like you.

Strategically correct to stall is a very interesting statement. Especially considering previous games. I don't really like the whole idea of neutral bot. Players turn into pseudo blizzards is dumb. If a player raises a white flag in surrender then leaving their troops on the board makes no sense to me 🤷
Definitely think the MIA after a bot out should either be on a much shorter timer or be based on a number of turns rather than a timer. It would also be nice to have a similar option for automatic bot. I like the gameplay that automatic bot creates but I don't like that building up a lot of troops and then botting out is a frustratingly common and consistent strategy for getting 2nd place

Noob slams are a big bother at the moment. Almost every game right now someone slams into a random opponent at some point for no obvious reason but their own boredom. Its super annoying especially when you get hit for no reason after investing an hour and a half into a game.
This game is not a competitive game. It's just a funny ffa based on gambling aka dice rolling. So stop complaining about "noob slams". For example I only play this game to pick a target and destroy him. Usually my target is not friendly and plays to win.

I was beating grandmasters with ease since day 1. You think it is competitive because you have never competed in any actual competitive game. It has no competitive structure whatsoever and is intended as a family/friends game. It's same as playing card games with a bare minimum of strategy/tactics involved. That is why top risk players have to come up with strict game settings for it to be actually playable in competitive environment. So you can sulk in your tears while I will have fun. And if you ever get into same room as me, pray that we don't end up in 1v1 situation because you are way worse than you imagine to be :D

Prog Cap positions are usually chosen with the future in mind. Late game, when the trades are massive, you want a cap position bordering as many territories as possible to avoid getting card blocked. In the Classic map, the Middle East and a few others are ideal.
Some enjoy early game capitals that defend bonuses, like the Greenland capital would've blocked access to either Europe or North America. Siam or Indonesia protect the Australia bonus, but it can be blocked with only one or 2 territories left to them. (Letting them take the territories bordering their capital but not the next ones, the capital often being the biggest stack.)

Next set is 40. Green has 48 troops at 5 cards. 35 of those troops are on cap. A 35 cap 'should' kill 70ish troops. I think the kill is definitely viable but I go quite negative and end my turn sitting on 5 cards myself being the fish.
I think I prefer neutral bots because it means that they have the least impact possible on the board and they often don't give any advantage to fake bot-outers
pete i have seen this line of play by purple before i refer to it as the scumbag skip strat, its only ever done from the first seat, and neutral bot and prog because it cap stacks and ,maintains exterior positions, and ensures you get the 15 instead of the 4, no one will also skip as the correct move because its a fucking neutral bot now and its simply incorrect to skip, and then boom people change their gameplan as a result, sometime you see the other human players slam each other and jostle for the right to stack on the bot cap, its unequivocally scumbag skip strat at its finest, and it usually goes unpunished because people need to stop letting people fucking bot out and come back and then all of a sudden be fighting for 1st from a totally abandoned game if SMG wont do anything, we as a community need to punish the scum bag botters and all spam the angry emoji when a botter comes back, like yo all wars should ceasefire until that botter is effectively cardblocked and killed
Someone capped next to me in my last game so I rolled it. 😂 To their credit I suppose they did not bot out right away but they rolled it back and won 😂 so I rolled them back and won. And then they rolled me back again ! And they won! Then they bot out. 😮😮 I did well that game but I didn't win. They were a master. 😂

Placements based on current points. So losing to a GM is not to bad, losing to a beginner is worse.

You get the plus two from the first card you trade so you can choose which territory you get it on by switching the cards
