link subtly pushing people towards his son's pie via dissing the shepherd's pie, then nudging his way into being both the DJ AND part of the judging committee is so funny lol. feels like a cartoon plot
I have a suggestion for the next Pie Eating & Contest: when you read the votes (like in Survivor) I think it would be better to just read the top 3 names one by one with everyone on the edge of their seat. Then you can point to a pile of the ones that didn’t make it into the top 3 (without naming which pies they were or how many votes they got.) People work hard on their pies & depending on what kind of crowd this is, ppl might be bummed to hear they only received 1 or 0 votes. I think it’s better they don’t know the exact #. They just know they didn’t make top 3. . 🤷♀️ just a suggestion. Have fun at the next party!
Yh but if u can get ur feelings hurt over pie maybe don't enter a pie contest? Or any contest if losing doesn't motivate you. Idk I think it's just light hearted fun in a world we're it's becoming more and more uncommon for ppl to not take offence over minor things.
@@therealmarkzucc5323 I think you might be over-complicating it with the belief that "some people get offended too easily." You even said it yourself that you think it's just lighthearted fun. To that end, I would ask: How does ensuring that nobody feels put down, do anything other than contribute to that fun? There's nothing wrong with being considerate of other people's feelings.
@@Rabbit_Hill Bet you and Amanda here are "participation trophy" kind of people. When you're in a contest, there are winners and losers. Let the losers learn from the experience. There's no need to placate them.
Three fun facts about Chess Pie: 1. It's called that because the southern accent often made "it's just pie" sound like "it's chess pie." 2. It differs from other typical pies in-that it's a custard pie, so the filling is made of butter, sugar, eggs, flour, and occasionally milk. 3. While it was popularized in the American South, it actually originated in England.
"Pie Potluck Supper and Tasting Competition"...and for at least a decade there was a "Casserollarama" event in my best friend's neighborhood party in Carrboro....
Hey dudes, long time fan here. You two seem like very progressive humans, woke to the injustices of the world and being sympathetic to victims of injustice. You spoke up during the Civil unrest that happened in the US just not long ago which is amazing. I am curious about your thoughts and where you stand on the current situation going on in the middle east.
I felt the need to look up this chocolate chess pie you speak of... Low & behold my mom used to make it when I was a kid but never called it a chocolate chess pie. I don't remember what we called it but I remember it was delicious 😋
The privacy laws in Europe are actually much stricter than they are here in the USA. That's why you know you are being filmed on cctv. In the USA, they just don't tell us, but they're doing it as much or more. They had much more resistance to it initially than we did and the adoption of it is relatively recent. I'm not sure why Rhett and Link have the impression that Europeans are less concerned about privacy.
The guy who made the Euro Pop thing (and yes, harped on it WAY too much) makes some -fantastic- content. Kyle Gordon. His "Life in the 19__" series is hilarious.
Crepes would be another great idea for an Eating & Contest party. I don't know how approachable crepes are to make, but they're basically just thin pancakes.
You could have like a pot luck dinner party but make it decade themed. Could be costumed but food from that time too. You could try to speak the way they would then or even play games popular then too. Like the 70's for example. You could even decorate the area in that decades style. Photo area even would be fun.
I think the difference between other countries being ok with cctv is that, in all honesty, the population is homogenized enough that the people in power still actually care about said population. People don't really like to share resources with people they deem "below" themselves and homogeneity REALLY helps that. So, in a country with larger groups of exploited people, it just feels dangerous and can wielded like a weapon against said marginalized group. Iunno if I can carry a device like that around
a chocolate pie is going to have a more of a pudding filling. A chocolate chess pie is going to have a more of a fudge brownie type filling with a hard crusted over top.
Rhett showing Link BJA is like me showing my bf who doesn’t have TikTok, I had to explain the whole multiverse of characters too and now we sing the Sittim song all the time
Dip party!!!!! Best sweet dip is probably cannoli, but there are so many out there-brownie, red velvet etc. My church would do a young adults dip party every Mardi Gras. It was bangin. So Rhett…dip party.
, I think instead of a pie eating and Contest party, I think it makes more sense to call it a pie bake off. Just like a BBQ or chili cook off: they make BBQ and see whose is the best.
It would be really interesting to have one or two of R&L’s adult children come on the pod to discuss some of those cross-generational things, live the privacy issue they talked about at the end!
why are the camera angles weird? i dont like the way this looks. this is my first time watching in awhile so i dont know when they changed it but it looks unnatural when they’re both looking away from each other
God the way y'all are talking about online banking makes me realise how much older you've gotten which then makes me realise how much older I've gotten 😭
Thank you for the midwest shout-out. There is zero reservation with the butter. Thanksgiving? 4-5 lbs? 4 sticks on the turkey alone...2 more I'm the stuffing at least.
Every time they say “pin” it takes me about 5 minutes to realize they’re not saying “pen”. I kept thinking how is that square thing gonna write anything??
link subtly pushing people towards his son's pie via dissing the shepherd's pie, then nudging his way into being both the DJ AND part of the judging committee is so funny lol. feels like a cartoon plot
alsooo themed party idea: (pizza) pie eating contest and party. dessert pizza, Hawaiian pizza, BBQ pizza, literally any topping you can imagine.
power moves honestly😂
Almost everything Link does feels a little like a cartoon plot. 😂
I think rhett and link should do an ear biscuits episode of their spotify wrapped!
this is so important we need this
YES PLEASE!
I love “Pie Eating And Contest Party” sounds like something the Always Sunny gang would do
I’m surprised no one brought a chicken pot pie for the savory category 👀
Maybe they were trying to avoid picking a very cliche savory pie. Technically couldn’t someone have borough a pizza pie. 😭😭😭
That would've been so clever omg @@LovingDeantheGodMachine333
A crust bottom, filling, then a crust topping. What am I describing Leslie? A pie? Close, you're in the right "zone". Oh,you're making a calzone.
The fact that apparently no one brought chicken pot pie to this Pie Eating & Contest is absolutely appalling
MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY
A soup & bread party would be great. You could do some sweet breads (cinnamon bread, zucchini bread, pumpkin bread)
It's interesting to me that you said zucchini bread instead of like, banana bread lol
A soup & bread eating & contest
The Sitting song minus the accent sounds a lot like a Rhett and Link track, I won't lie. That's amazing.
No reason in particular, but really looking forward to this one!
Edit: Title should've been Pie Eating and Contest lmao
rhett’s pure joy watching tj mack’s sittim video truly made my morning😂
He has a great laugh
A Slow Cooker/Crock Pot party could be fun. There's lots of desserts that you can cook that way
Perfect idea!!!
Im stealing this idea
i love their friendship man

Maybe you're having a "kiCkASSerole" Party. 😂🎉
I’m glad you said it, first thing I thought!
Dips. Everyone brings a dip. Will have more savory than sweet. But will have both.
Casseroler-scate party in the USA, everyone brings a casserole to a roller-skate rink and eats it while skating and listening to Miley Cyrus. 😂

#1 podcast on my Spotify wrapped ... Good job guys n team .. big fan 👏
I felt the need to look up this chocolate chess pie you speak of...
Low & behold my mom used to make it when I was a kid but never called it a chocolate chess pie. I don't remember what we called it but I remember it was delicious 😋
Super interesting conversation this week
As a Kiwi who loves pies, I'm glad that there was a savoury category! Savoury pies are so good 🤤🤩
I would for sure be hovering around the savoury section. I might have a teeny piece of sweet, but savoury will always lure me in.
Kiwis don't have fingers how are you typing this
Being Brian on your show! I love him
They need to have him on an Episode of GMM

i think they usually mean uk when they say europe
lol I don't think brits are less concerned about privacy either@@mmp92
How about this: Pie Eating Party & Contest
so happy BJA is finally getting his flowers from the mainstream! 🎉
Brian went on the TMG podcast, y’all should get him on GMM !
Man I love ear biscuits. And socialism.
Link's rec's pictures are from (mostly)Biatrix Potter's story books. I had a few when I was little❤
21:35 A chili contest? Did you mean a chili eating and contest party?
The guy who made the Euro Pop thing (and yes, harped on it WAY too much) makes some -fantastic- content. Kyle Gordon. His "Life in the 19__" series is hilarious.
Christy was robbed! How can a key lime pie beat a chocolate pie??!!
Even just reading this sentence, my vote is going to the key lime pie 😂 chocolate is not the end all be all of flavor.
Crepes would be another great idea for an Eating & Contest party. I don't know how approachable crepes are to make, but they're basically just thin pancakes.
The rich southern mom is my personal favorite of Brian's 😂

wait i just realized the performance rhett is talking abt is what BJA was talking about doing when he was on TMG podcast
Just call it a Pie Tasting Contest lmaoo
Lmao right?
CassaRock and Role Party
That AI Pin is treading verrrrrrrry close to the move "Her"
-How many pies did you make?
-2
*Press X to doubt*
-Ok, my wife and son made them and I was just taking a nap. But I was there too

I make a pineapple casserole that would definitely qualify for the sweet casserole category
Title for the casserole party: Cassa-fiesta!
anyone else ever not have peas in a Shepard's pie (usually potatoes, corn, and meat). Congrats to his son winning too! :D
a chocolate pie is going to have a more of a pudding filling. A chocolate chess pie is going to have a more of a fudge brownie type filling with a hard crusted over top.
Bread pudding is a perfect contender for sweet "casserole" 😁
Everyone thinks they’re the first, Big Brother is watching muah hahahaha
No chicken pot pie?? That woulda won savory, bet.
Why did I decide to choose this video to listen to while I was shopping and TJ Maxx?
Rhett showing Link BJA is like me showing my bf who doesn’t have TikTok, I had to explain the whole multiverse of characters too and now we sing the Sittim song all the time
Casseroyal rumble. I got wrestling on my mind lol. And Key Lime Pie is the best pie.
You should make a soup 🍲 Contest
I'd love to see Link play "Survivor"! ❤
the sitting song made me cry
Casserole party. We do it for my mom’s birthday. Contest, voting, and all. Mainly savory, but also some sweet ones.
Link brought up their casserole party literally seconds after I commented this 😂
How about an Appetizer contest?
Link's heart is not into saying "rec baby" anymore, you can hear it in his voice
Now this is the best way to start my mornings
Dip party!!!!! Best sweet dip is probably cannoli, but there are so many out there-brownie, red velvet etc. My church would do a young adults dip party every Mardi Gras. It was bangin. So Rhett…dip party.
In TikTok I’ve seen soups, dips, sliders and cocktails eating and contests
, I think instead of a pie eating and Contest party, I think it makes more sense to call it a pie bake off. Just like a BBQ or chili cook off: they make BBQ and see whose is the best.
omg i’ve heard the sitting song but never saw the original
You guys could do an ethnic food night! Cook from a different country!
I grew up with corn in Shepard’s pie.. I wonder if it’s a regional thing.
Me as well
Wait.. now what happen to Link's wrist? He went too hard on buying those whips, huh?! 😂
Mi Casa-Roll Party, bring your casserole to mi casa
"I think it's called introversion" 😅
It would be really interesting to have one or two of R&L’s adult children come on the pod to discuss some of those cross-generational things, live the privacy issue they talked about at the end!
Sweet casserole could be apple crumble and that sorta thing
I LOVE CHOCOLATE CHESS PIEEEEEE
That chime ad was preposterous
I miss the tie dye Cotton Candy Randy t-shirt!
why are the camera angles weird? i dont like the way this looks. this is my first time watching in awhile so i dont know when they changed it but it looks unnatural when they’re both looking away from each other
God the way y'all are talking about online banking makes me realise how much older you've gotten which then makes me realise how much older I've gotten 😭
🎼SITTING🎶
🤣
As an older gen z’er(1998), I’d honestly prefer having CCTVs everywhere like they do in the UK. It would bring more of a sense of safety.
A sweet casserole that already exists might be a sweet Kugel
Putting a shepherd's pie into a pie crust is ridiculous lol
Cobblers are sweet casseroles, no??
Also pie idea suggestion: pork and apple pie
Casa Rock and Roll- casseroles and rock n roll
Thank you for the midwest shout-out. There is zero reservation with the butter. Thanksgiving? 4-5 lbs? 4 sticks on the turkey alone...2 more I'm the stuffing at least.
Pie contest and eating party
OMG When Link said "Siri," my phone started taking some kind of dictation or looking something up. I had to tell my phone to stop.
Pizza making contest!
Every time they say “pin” it takes me about 5 minutes to realize they’re not saying “pen”. I kept thinking how is that square thing gonna write anything??
Why not call it “pie party and contest”??
I desperately need to know which savoury pie lost to quiche lol
What’s wrong with Link’s wrist? Did I miss something?
anyone else's Siri go off on their phone from Link saying Siri 😭
the gay and wondrous life of caleb gallo is SO funny
You could make an argument that bread pudding and cobblers are dessert casseroles
Link you didn't tell us what sweet pie won!
A dip party
Bbq contest
The word contest means nothing to me anymore lmao
I am a Gen Z-er. I care about my privacy.
Just make it a cake or casserole party
