The current consoles can do that. The issue is optimization and programming. A more powerful PS5 Pro will just brute force its way to 4K60. Developers could scale back their games to achieve 4K60 now. But many would complain about weaker graphics

The rtx 2080 plays it at 4k with Ray tracing at about 40fps but I think the PS5 plays it at 4k with Ray tracing at about a hard-locked 30fps. But then again, Marvel's Spiderman is a CPU-intensive game. But yeah, developers need to optimize their games for PS5 to run them at native 4k with a stable 60fps.

If I had to guess it will be $499 diskless, 500GB with the optional $70 disk drive upgrade add on. They are really pushing the all digital future by making it difficult and annoying to stick with physical. Then they can claim it is what the consumer wants. Sony is a lesser company than it was in the PS4 era.

I've said it before and I'll say ti again, I don't need a PS5 Pro to replace the original model PS5 that I currently have, and probably 80% of the current PS5 owners out there agree with me. My estimate is based the sales ratio of base PS4 consoles to PS4 Pro consoles.

I'm still trying to figure out why people get so angry about mid gen refresh consoles every 3 to 4 years, but are okay with other aspects in the tech world refreshing every year. Cars, phones, tvs and pc components.
Just a tip: if there is a 60 FPS mode in the game, and the game does deliver 60 FPS in it, then the game is not CPU limited, even if the game has to drop the resolution to atari levels.

I’m still happy with my PS5…. Load times are great, frame rates are good for the types of games I play (JRPGs) and I usually don’t buy mid generation refresh systems. I’ll be back for the PS6 in 2030 😂😂

When the PS5 and XSX launched, an equivalent spec'd PC would cost more than $1,000. So on one hand, you can be upset about not getting 8k 120fps, but on the other hand, you can't honestly claim that the PS5 was not good value for money.
Will not get any framerate upgrade with just a gpu bump. It will just help with fidelity and more demanding graphical options. Frame generation will also hammer the cpu and not magically give you 120fps like it does on a pc. Pc has more cpu headroom so the frame gen actually runs the framerate high enough.

I understand the frustration on the marketing front. I also understand why games are getting harder to run at 4k 60. Game devs will always try to push the limits in the AAA space and this is what in turn pushes better hardware. In reality only really last gen games were ever true 4k 60 on the base PS5.
The reality is, PC gamers have been able to play games at 60fps for WELL OVER 20 YEARS!! The fact that game devs refuse to make 60FPS THE STANDARD is simply a matter of their UNWILLINGNESS TO PUT THE EFFORT IN TO DO IT. It absolutely is possible, they just can’t be bothered and they know console gamers have had to deal with 30FPS games for a long long time so they figure they can just keep getting away with it. That ps5 pro enhanced label will also be misleading because they mentioned 3 different aspects that would be enhanced, but im sure they only have to enhance one aspect to use the label, and these normal console gamers will think every enhanced game is ray traced and so on.
Regardless, the games will be improved, and developers may choose 2 or even 3 categories to improve. They want to sell you the best game they can after all. Whichever enhancements developers choose, it's a better experience regardless. If you have the cash or you're strapped those are things for each individual to determine.
Been there with the ps4 pro. Differences were minimal, but I think it was capable of running the PSVR if I am not mistaken. May as well either save your money or put the money towards a prebuilt PC if you want any true difference in power and choices in gaming. If xbox has an update too, same thing, save money and go PC for true power difference. Would rather play a PC game at 1080p with faster framerates than crawling snail pace 4k ray tracing graphics on console.

The only thing we know for sure is what Sony did last time with the PS4Pro. NOBODY fucking bought a PS5 thinking they were getting an 8K game, both the PS5 and Series X boxes say 8K on them, they say it in different places but if you still have a series x box (assuming you actually bought one) look at it, it says 8K right on the box as well. The PS5 is also the ONLY console that actually does have an 8K game, it's an indie game but it's 8K on PS5 and not on Series X.

Like I said before on one of your videos, Sony and MS have always over exaggerated how good their console hardware is. If you look at the PS3 and 360 they were marketed as consoles that could do 1080p Full HD and yet most games were subhd or 720p at best in a handful of games. Games ran like crap when those consoles first came out as well, I remember playing Saints Row 1 on the 360, and my god, that game couldn't even hold 30FPS, don't even get me started on the screen tearing as well. I think Sony is doing this because they know, the PS5 hardware is already showing its limits, and they wan't this generation to last as long as possible, especially with games like GTA VI coming out. To be fair the PS5 has been out now for almost four years, a console generation traditionally only lasts between 4 - 5 years, but with how long its taking for games to be developed now and how much money it is costing, they want every generation to be as long as it possibly can be.

Game devs will always try to push the limits in the AAA space and this is what in turn pushes better hardware. In reality only really last gen games were ever true 4k 60 on the base PS5.
The reality is, PC gamers have been able to play games at 60fps for WELL OVER 20 YEARS!! The fact that game devs refuse to make 60FPS THE STANDARD is simply a matter of their UNWILLINGNESS TO PUT THE EFFORT IN TO DO IT. It absolutely is possible, they just can’t be bothered and they know console gamers have had to deal with 30FPS games for a long long time so they figure they can just keep getting away with it. Not to mention at this point given what’s been going on over the last 5-7 years, most players would be satisfied if AAA games were released IN A PLAYABLE STATE!! Most of the games released nowadays are released in such a TERRIBLE STATE AND THEN HAVE TO BE FINISHED/FIXED WITH PATCHES AND UPDATES. The game industry really needs a reset or something because it’s 2024 and it’s PATHETIC!!!

That ps5 pro enhanced label will also be misleading because they mentioned 3 different aspects that would be enhanced, but im sure they only have to enhance one aspect to use the label, and these normal console gamers will think every enhanced game is ray traced and so on.
Regardless, the games will be improved, and developers may choose 2 or even 3 categories to improve. They want to sell you the best game they can after all. Whichever enhancements developers choose, it's a better experience regardless. If you have the cash or you're strapped those are things for each individual to determine.
Been there with the ps4 pro. Differences were minimal, but I think it was capable of running the PSVR if I am not mistaken. May as well either save your money or put the money towards a prebuilt PC if you want any true difference in power and choices in gaming. If xbox has an update too, same thing, save money and go PC for true power difference. Would rather play a PC game at 1080p with faster framerates than crawling snail pace 4k ray tracing graphics on console.

100% - the original consoles were hamstrung by cpu, the pro will be slightly less hamstrung by cpu.
boy am i glad i completely abandoned consoles after the ps3, yeah it was torture during the ps4 but now pretty much every game i wanted to play in that console is now on pc, and ps5 doesnt have any exclulsive i can give a damn (plus they are on pc too but i dont care)
If I was making the PS5 Pro it should be 85 percent better than the base PS5 but it looks like it's only going to be 10 percent better why even release a Pro version if it's not going to destroy the base version of the PS5

The only thing we know for sure is what Sony did last time with the PS4Pro. That console was the first gaming device with dedicated upscaling hardware and it ensure the PS4 generation’s viability for years.
The only reason to get pissed, is that the current next gen systems never had a chance, with the last gen still being support. Even now they still put out all things to n last gen.
It's sad but the only ones that really delivered True 4K 60 and up this gaming generation was Nvidia with RTX 3080 and up. Running old games at 4K 60 to 120 FPS and newer games at 4K, raytracing atv60 to 120 fps with dlss.
Same thing happened with the ps4. The pro felt like what the ps4 shouodve always been from day 1.

NOBODY fucking bought a PS5 thinking they were getting an 8K game, both the PS5 and Series X boxes say 8K on them, they say it in different places but if you still have a series x box (assuming you actually bought one) look at it, it says 8K right on the box as well. The PS5 is also the ONLY console that actually does have an 8K game, it's an indie game but it's 8K on PS5 and not on Series X.

Like I said before on one of your videos, Sony and MS have always over exaggerated how good their console hardware is. If you look at the PS3 and 360 they were marketed as consoles that could do 1080p Full HD and yet most games were subhd or 720p at best in a handful of games. Games ran like crap when those consoles first came out as well, I remember playing Saints Row 1 on the 360, and my god, that game couldn't even hold 30FPS, don't even get me started on the screen tearing as well.
I think Sony is doing this because they know, the PS5 hardware is already showing its limits, and they wan't this generation to last as long as possible, especially with games like GTA VI coming out. To be fair the PS5 has been out now for almost four years, a console generation traditionally only lasts between 4 - 5 years, but with how long its taking for games to be developed now and how much money it is costing, they want every generation to be as long as it possibly can be.

From the beginning I really have to ask what even was the “next gen experience” because last I checked that was never a thing. The Xbox and ps5 are perfectly fine as it is but the companies weren’t able to fully use the abilities because honest not enough people could get them, even so let’s hope this at least lowers the prices of current and older ps5’s

I was on the fence of getting the new PS5 pro & tossing the old PS3 I use to play COD online. Well it looks now like I am better off spending my time and money doing other things.

There's no need for a PS 5 Pro, the PS 5 is just fine. in this case you're just better off saving your money for a PS 6.
