2003 edge. in all fairness I loved this song when I was younger. just recently I watched all three original spy kids movies. I went on a nostalgia binge on netflix.
When this movie came out, I had just turned 18 and I was working at the local movie theater. I mainly worked concession stand, but I was sometimes asked to help the other workers clean up the floors after a movie showing was over. I heard this song countless times because it would play as the credits were rolling. I always had weird mixed feelings every time I'd hear it. Part of me liked it because it reminded me of Evanescence - "Bring Me To Life" or even Linkin' Park's Meteora album and I like that rap/nu-metal style in general. This was 2003 after all, and that was a popular musical style at the time. The other part of me thought it sounded like a KIDZ BOP version of those songs/bands, and the rapper kid sounded like Aaron Carter. Not to mention, I was way too old for the target demographic of the movie/song. Ultimately, I was like "This is cringey as hell and I shouldn't like this, but I kinda can't help but like it anyway."
RIGHT?! I came here because I wanted to see if this and her other "song" Game Over held up, two seconds in, NOPE! I can't believe we grew up with this drek, no wonder why our generation is fucked. I mean, she was like 15 in this video and lookit that shirt she was wearing, ugggh, I was embarrassed for her and if you look closely, she's "singing" in to a mic and nothing is coming out, I know pop music in general is faked live but here it was painfully obvious. She makes Den Harrow look like Elvis Presley by comparison. All I gotta say was, woooooooof, that was rough.
