I just discovered your channel---and also Malcolm Douglas---today. What a wealth of good watching here! Thanks so much for collecting and posting it all.
I've watched every single video at least 3 times each by now. I dont know what it is, but I also love to fall asleep with it on.. I have a vague memory as a kid watching the opening scene where they're launching the hand made canoe?.... idk, but I can't seem to get enough of the Outback. Thank you for uploading them!! Much love from Michigan
Brought back some memories this great film. I headed north out of Broome in the mid 70s after finishing a job with an oil company. Was heading toward Darwin but the engine of my old Holden panel van blew up between Kununurra and Katherine. Took a while getting back to civilization and ended up flying into Darwin. Wild wild places up at the top of Australia.
Mr Douglas states in his film he has been coming to Talbot Bay for 20 years....this film was released in 1982, therefore Mr Douglas first visited around 1962...does this make him the first European-type to explore the tidal gorges of Talbot Bay??? Narrator states, "North of Cockatoo the waters remain uncharted" ....incredible in the Twentieth century.
I would probably pay $20 per episode for this amazing unmatched content if it was on the apple store or on Amazon prime. I was also going to maybe try and improve the visual quality to 4k or hd video
@@monopolyshark yes these episodes are from a film company overseas there is writing in another language on the info. But yes it would be great to see all this in 4k. I agree
@@Warpedsmac I don’t agree even with that if we want to keep the environment at least as it is now. And I am not an eviromentalist nor one of those propandists, but I am a nature lover with all it has to offer.
I was on this trip with Malcolm one night when he was drunk we were foraging for Bush Tucker and in some damper we put fresh kangaroo shit which malcoms ate the lot of and said it was great

The original film reels are probably archived at his place in Broome, would be an interesting project to try and get them remastered.

"Probably in another hundred years, you'll have a hoverboard coming here from Derby or Broome!" :D
No Hovercrafts but tour operators have house-boats big enough for a helicopter to land on now.
@@Warpedsmac wow that sounds weird
