I've bought it and the keybinding works by having specific keys on the keyboard and mouse act as the triggers and analog sticks on the controller. For example on a switch controller, the "F" key is recognized as "X" so i can switch my "X" button on my controller to do whatever I want it to do, but it will always be "F" on my keyboard.
I connected my keyboard and mouse to my switch using the KX adapter using the directions that were provided with the adapter, and it works fine when I am selecting games from the Home Screen but for some odd reason when I get logged into fortnite the keyboard and mouse do not work none of the buttons have any affect as if they are not even there.
Honestly I suck at kB/m on Fortnite but I would totally use it for Minecraft and maybe Zelda thought the curser being wasd would probably be a bit annoying when it comes to managing your inventory in MC but it can’t be too bad because I use the D pad for that most of the time anyway

Can be any mouse and keyboard. Manual says it should be compatible, but I obviously haven’t tested every brand. As long as it’s a well know. Brand it will be fine 👍🏻

How are you supposed to change binds for example change edit to left shift do you just do into controller settings then to custom controller settings and then press left shift or what?

Hi there. They are all in the manual that comes with the adapter. It’s a pretty standard affair with WASD and SPACE is A. The rest I can’t remember as I have the PXN adapter now and currently testing the GameSir VX2

I saw in your previous video you showed the key bind manual and what each key correlates to- it said shift is bound to L3. Do you know what that input is supposed to be on the switch? To my knowledge the switch doesn't have an "L3" button or trigger so I'm trying to get in my head where that would map to. Super helpful videos though! I plan to purchase this for casual play on the switch with friends. I only play competitively on the PC but want to be able to use keyboard mouse casually on the switch for quality of life adjustments and thus wouldn't be trying to exploit the competitive ladder with more precise controls :^)

You can use “mouse button 3”. You can only bind using Fortnite settings and switch settings. For using a keyboard you have to use the ones the adapter tells you. 👍🏻

Thanks to version 10.0 you can set custom profiles in the switch it’s self so you don’t need to change your binds all the time when switching from kbm to controller or vice versa you just switch to the profile in the switches settings
Is plugging the pro controller into the adapter (and turning on wired pro control setting toggle to ON) required for this? I can get the escape key to work in fortnite and wasd keys in the switch dashboard, but no mouse support or any other keys are working.
@@CTAtechdesk interestingly, I unpaired all controllers, then plugged everything in, and then the mouse began working... The system seems brittle as the mouse stopped working after trying to unplug and plug back the kx unit. Also, despite the keyboard working (wasd and space in switch home menu), nothing seems to be translating while in Fortnite. No jump, no caps lock for menu, etc.

Yeah. That’s the issue. There are 3 types of binding and some people want to change keys on their keyboard which can’t happen. 👍🏻

You have to put the controllers on the dock

It sadly didn’t work for me might be that switch doesn’t support Havit keyboard and mouses or at least the one that I have

If the sensitivity is unmanageable for you using fortnite’s settings, you can get a mouse with adjustable dpi.

Hi there. If you want to use a keyboard and mouse for games you need an adapter. Plugging it straight into the dock wont work. Hope that helps.

It doesn’t change it to be like pc. you have exactly the same configuration as consoles. but each controller button is mapped to a key. HTH
