Let’s also appreciate the *hours* of hard work by grooms & handlers to get these horses, harness, & wagon into spotless condition for a two minute trot around the field. Horses are awesome, but they don’t get clean or into harness by themselves, lol.

Saw them on a tour at the St.Louis Bud plant when I was a kid. We got to go into the barn and stalls to see them and I can tell you they are the MOST pampered animals probably on the planet. It was IMMACULATE. I don't know if they do that tour anymore which would be unfortunate.

Dwayne Hilton is the primary St. Louis Cardinals organist at Busch Stadium. He does an outstanding job. On the occasions when Hilton is not available, the Cardinals have one or two backup organists. Including, Jeremy Boyer, who is the organist for the NHL's St. Louis Blues.

I'm in the UK and these heavy horse teams are brought out regularly for county agriculture shows and other events. The one for this area is The Great Yorkshire Show and there's usually about a dozen teams of various horses, Shires, Clydesdales and Percherons mostly. Massive care is taken in the presentation and care of horses and equipment. But seeing a parade of these beautiful animals as they approach and leave the showring is totally amazing.
Many of the horses are kept in stables close to the ring during the show days and the public have access to them, stroking them and having photos taken etc. Some horses have their stables netted off as they can be biters but most can be stroked. The Shires are the biggest at over 18 hands. Before showing in the ring, each and every one is groomed out in the space between the stables and THIS in particular pulls an audience. These horses are my favourite of everything that the show has.

Clydesdale, heavy draft-horse breed that originated in Lanarkshire, Scotland, near the River Clyde. The breed was improved about 1715 by mating a Flemish stallion with local mares; Shire blood was later introduced. Not sure where you live, but the Clydesdales are scattered about the country if you include breed and training farms. You should Google it, I've seen them in person in St Louis at the brewery those were just mares and foals. The teams on the wagons are usually geldings. It's definitely worth it if you can make it.

Around 1980 I was taking a couple tours in Natchez, Mississippi and out of sheer luck the Budweiser Clydesdales were in town. They where on the street; they were not harnessed up yet, but I could get within 10 yards of them and I was in awe of their magnificent presence. Sharon, don’t wait to see them. I am sure the marketing department puts their tour schedule on the internet and they might be pulling the beer wagon at town/city near you.

If you ever go to St. Louis and if the Clydesdales are in town, you can actually do a walk through of their stables for an up close look at these fabulous horses. I was there 10 or 12 years ago, and they had a new foal born. Who knows, maybe that foal was one of the horses pulling this team, now?

Shires & Clydesdales are the gentle giants of the horse world. My favourite horse I ever rode was a Shire Clydesdale cross named Samson. I loved to be in the last ride before the end of the day at the stables so I could put him out in the field. He would always slowly lower his head for me to take his bridle off before he wandered off into the field. Sadly he's no longer with us.

Seeing the Budweiser Clydesdales in person in a parade route all set is an amazing thing , they are gigantic. Since they are worth a ton of money the handlers don't let anyone near them or touch them at all. Whenever they are in their stables in between walks they put a border up to keep people from getting up close to the stalls and then when they're hitched up onto the wagon the security crew warns everyone to keep back and don't touch the team (the horses).
The handlers and crew aren't very friendly to people and that's mostly because their work schedule and the money they make for that kind of job , Budweiser pays them very good money.

Always such a beautiful thing. Major props to the driver. I had enough of a time just driving my one little pony in her cart. Can’t imagine trying to handle that many lines at once, keeping them all in rhythm. And the massive amounts of care that is required by all the folks behind the scenes taking care of these lovely creatures every day, wow. I got to see them my first time in 1974 or 75? I was really little. They were at a parade my mom took me to. I remember looking up at them and they were soooooo massive to my little 4 year old self. I got to see them one other time in parade as a teen, and saw one of their road teams at a truck stop one day where they had stopped for fuel and lunch. Got to actually see them up close that day and talk to the folks that handle them. Nicest folks you’d ever meet. They really love their charges.

it's amazing, it's been decades since Bud used that jingle, yet I STILL REMEMBER all the words. it was the BEST jingle ever for a beer. and I'll always remember seeing the horses in person when I was a little girl. we called all Clydesdales 'budweiser horses" until my dad told us they were actually clydesdales. well, they're still Budweiser horses to me. :-)

      Clydesdales are a draft
      horse breed that originated
      in Scotland. Every area of
the UK as well as almost
      every large district of every
      other country used to have
      their own regional variations
      on draft horses. These breeds
      were imported and bred in
      USA.

Religion stole God from me ... all I saw was negativity and divisiveness. I wanted nothing to do with doctrines .. and dogma which claimed only one path to God was the correct one.
Then I studied quantum physics and God returned ... flooding my life and heart with the awareness of a common consciousness ... a common energy ... uniting as all. I see God everywhere ... in me and you and those beautiful horses. In the wind and my cat purring beside me. And then the message becomes "empathy" ... connecting every particle in the Cosmos 🙏
