  • Ever since Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson transitioned from wrestling star to movie star, the actor has found new ways to pull off seemingly impossible action on-screen with the help of some of Hollywood's best stunt performers and effects artists. For him, that has meant a lot of preparation, like when he played a rescue pilot in "San Andreas" (2015).
    Thanks to clever camerawork, stunt coordination, and visual effects, he was able to leap off a motorcycle in "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" (2017), get hit by a bull in Netflix's "Red Notice" (2021), and redirect a torpedo in "The Fate of the Furious" (2017), which made for one of the most memorable moments in the "Fast and the Furious" franchise.
    And his dedication to his workouts as well as the fight training skills he picked up as a wrestler benefited him in roles like "Hercules" (2014), "Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw" (2019), and "Black Adam" (2022).

      I mean, yeah, that's pretty meh, most of these are. But learning how to rappell out of a helicopter and the 8 month training regime for Hercules seemed pretty cool. To be fair, the video title isn't like, "Wow, you won't believe what the Rock did in these stunts!" or whatever. It delivered what it said, just some BTS stuff.

      Lmao seriously. I like the Rock and think he seems like a pretty good guy for Hollywood standards. But the way these publications worship celebrities is hilarious. If a 9 year old child did that you wouldn't call it impressive. You'd call it childhood lmao.

    I love Dwayne Johnson. I've been following his wrestling and acting career ever since I was a little kid.
    However, when it comes to doing stunts, Dwayne has got nothing on Tom Cruise. Not only does Tom prefer to do his own stunts, he requires it.
    Tom prefers to do his own stunts so much, that if the guy who's in charge of safety tells Tom he can't do a particular stunt, because it's too dangerous, Tom will fire the guy and hire someone who will not argue with him about which stunts he can or can't do. By the way, Tom Cruise has actually done that.

      Arnold got same issue fed up of such repetitiveness in 90's,
      That's why he land a role in a comedy movie after sounding his "wishes".
      Jackie Chan also suffer same thing, even the Hollywood ones are nothing new and quite predictable. Quite an ironic despite Jackie complained that the stunt were "restrictive" and he doesn't understand the joke, it ended up using the same HK formula..
      He also got fed up and "wished" to play an entirely different genre like in a romance movie however, unlike arnold, he's wishes aren't granted to this day

  • @perce1veALL
    @perce1veALL ปีที่แล้ว +12

    So, he's basically doing what the majority of actors do in terms of stunt coordination, the easiest ones that are injury-proof? Of course, there is still a chance that he might get injured but very little to none. I'm not saying that I want to see actors getting injured but perhaps there should not be a list of stunts glorifying about how skilled The Rock is when he is clearly not doing most of his stunts and this is basically discrediting every stunt double of his who actually had to do the most dangerous spots, none of these are impressive enough to make a top 12 list.

    In the 2022 Action Movie "Black Adam" Dwayne Johnson had to take 200+ hours of super hero training from an actual immortal god-like being.
