This type of comparison is super valuable...thanks Gwen! I can only ask for more like this...and for me, comparing the latest foils to support progression (beginner to intermediate+) and using your great insights into learning this sport to guide us...
Hi Gwen, Great video. I really appreciate the detailed comparison and unbiased review. As you say these foils are definitely getting lots of attention ... good timing.
The Armstrong V2 HA uses high camber to achieve a low stall speed. They are absolutely insane to ride. They rip turns. They take off at slow speeds. They achieve high top speeds. They’re just so good. The next best thing is the MA wings. I accidentally breached and it just went right back in the water. Always interesting to see other brands and designs. I don’t have the wallet to test em so these videos are great!
The review I’ve been waiting for! Thanks for all the detail, I have tested the 1300 enduro as well as the 1130 atlas and 1160 nomad. One thing I will add is that both KT Foil’s feel like they can operate at higher angle of attack, but the AFS did feel extremely smooth and efficient both excellent foils hard to decide.
Gwen you produce the best comparison reviews, thank you. Coming from Sabfoil then Code now KT foils I’m appreciating how individual riding styles and conditions dictate which foil is best for the each rider. I’m loving the learning.
This review is truly relevant and insightful, thank you so much for the quality of your videos ! How would you compare the Razor Pro to these two foils ?
One thing to note about the enduro low end. Coming from takuma I immediately noticed how enduro wants to accelerate when you pump it. Idk if atlas does that too but I’ve found getting back up to speed is easy.
Excellent break-down. Super difficult to articulate subtle differences in quality foils- you nailed the explanation. I'm on code foils S series and demoed an KT Atlas 790 in small surf 25 kts.. Really loved it. With the number/shim system was tuned, easy to ride right out of the box. Code S and Atlas are not dissimilar foils at all, but the KT had maybe a touch more range and seemed to excel handling whitewater/turbulence/rough water better than my code. I'm really curious about the KT Nomad.
Looked back at your SabFoil Razor review and seeing these are similar in area to the Razor 780. Do you think you could beach start either of these foils, and does the 780 lack a bit on the top end compared to these?
The Atlas has some similarities to the Razor in term of low end, but has a better top end so improved range overall. I don't think I could beachstart the 700 Enduro. I think I could beachstart the 680 Atlas, but too nice to scratch doing beachstarts, not worth it haha!
@@DamienLeroyTH-cam Great review. I can consistently hit 19-20 knots with the Razor Pro 975, so I think with a smaller one like the Atlas 700, the top speeds will be the same. And that's with a large S430 stabiliser and the loner 713 fuse at 85kg. Just FYI. I'll do testing with my small S399 and if I can go faster I revert back to you.
Very nice review! I like that you are actually measuring your speed not just going by feel. Do you have any thoughts on how the Lift 110 X with the camber spread across the cord of the wing stacks up against these two recently tested wings with respect to stall speed, top speed and turning?
I missed which tail you used for enduro, but would be interesting to use the same tail for both. This also makes me wish foil ranges were more constant in span but had different sections instead.
The 15.5mm KT mast isn't creating excessive drag over the AFS mast in my opinion. What you feel more than the mast when comparing to the Enduro is the bit of drag created by the camber at higher speed
Thank you Damien for this great review , would be great to get your comparison with the KT Nomad and if possible some kind of foil size guidance / rider weight / 90kg / 80kg / 70kg. We are not equal weight wise :-)
Sombody knows how the camber helps with low-end doesn't understand the dynamics of it at first view it looks like it just at drag because with wings they go the other way with dubbel skin thnks
That's what I said in the video, he was on the 830 Nomad that's correct. I used that clips to show the effect of the camber when loading the foil really hard when carving. If you do that on a foil with no camber you would choke the foil, making it stall or lose speed. The camber allows it to keep speed up. The same camber is on the Atlas.

Thanks for the excellent video nice work as usual! Would love to hear your thoughts on the Nomad line as well.🤙
Awesome breakdown. Can totally see the value of low end comfort vs high end comfort in different scenarios with my riding.

Right those foils are really good and it is not easy to choose. For sure that smooth ride and efficiency you get from the Enduro is addicting!

Thanks for sharing! The Nomad, being a bit lower aspect, falls in a different category than Atlas and Enduro for sure
Nice one Gwen, great Review, so true on the enduro the top end of the 700 is so good, so comfy in big conditions!
Thanks Guy, I saw you put it to the test in some serious waves in WA 🤩🙌🔥
Great comparison.

This was a great video. I learned something, besides I want all the new gear.🤣
Nice review!
What were the conditions? At those sizes it sounds like they should definitely go 25kts at least. Was it like 14 knotd with a 4.5m wing or something?
15-17 mph wind, 4m wing
@DamienLeroyTH-cam like I said in the video those are not the true top speed of those foils
@@DamienLeroyTH-cam Yeah, I was just curious. That would make a lot of sense though at those conditions, thanks for the reply and happy holidays!

excellent video. how was the noise of those two foils? Any comment on that? Thanks!
Enduro is ultra quiet, not a noise at any speed. The Atlas does make a noise when pumping and at faster speeds
I missed which tail you used for enduro, but would be interesting to use the same tail for both. This also makes me wish foil ranges were more constant in span but had different sections instead.
Used the 38 HA stab with the 700 Enduro
Thickness of KT mast 15,5mm. Did you feel an excess of drag compared with the AFS UHM mast?

Excellent explanation, but too advanced for me at this stage only been winging for 2/3 months

Camber is like the flaps on an airplane when landing. It's improves lift at slower speed.
In the Kdmaui clip where he does the carving 360, I'm pretty sure he's riding the 830 Nomad, NOT the Atlas.
