Yeah I’ve struggled to identify my favorite game for awhile but within the last year have discovered that whatever it is… it’s a Knizia. This game is more approachable than something like T&E while having more going on than the bare bones “high society.” I adore both of those games but use them as reference points to say… Yes, Chris. Been wanting this for a while but unwilling to pay $200 for it on the 2nd hand market. Been waiting for this kickstarter since I heard about the reprint.
Thanks for bringing this re-release to my attention. I'm bummed I missed the freebie advance follow. That is what I get for going to a game convention instead of listening to game content. But I am following it now. Need to take a harder look at this and figure out who I will play it with and how often it will hit the table to decide which version I want, if either.
Nice summation. Guess I will check this one out. Pretty tapped out financially at the moment though from backing so many others!

it’s a great game. Even if you can’t get it now, picking it up at some point in the future whatever edition I would be very happy with they have it in my collection regardless of how it looked through it plays much better than I was ever expecting.
Reiner Knizia created 3 auctions games: Modern Art, Medici and Ra. Both Ra and Medici are ranked about the same and Medici was Spiel des Jahres Recommended. They both play well at 2 and 5. They both have similar weight. Besides the fact that Ra is new, I do not believe Ra is better than Medici. While I can see theme is different and may be important to some people, Medici and Ra are equally as good.
This is one of my grail games. Along with Cyclades' auction mechanics RA always gets mentioned. So happy we're getting a new print run!

Did you get the Standard or Deluxe edition ? Thought on the price point of Deluxe version?
it’s expensive but really it’s the better way to go otherwise I’d say you wait until the retail version is available widely
