I can't say I've had the time to go back, but much like the mines I yearn for the days of fighting ACE and waiting for everyone to finish figuring out mods.
A huge thing about Reforger that I haven't seen many people talk about is the accessibility of it. We even have console players playing Arma now! And it's cross-compatible?! It's just amazing to me how many people are discovering the gem that is Arma for the first time, even if to us old-heads they're playing with essentially idea-ware instead of a whole game. My heart swells to everything you covered in this video and I cannot thank you enough for everything you've done. I am writing this shortly after my first deployment which I have just come back from as of a week ago. During my time in another country, I quite literally had your videos looping since they were one of the few things keeping me sane this entire year. Just understand that I have gone full sappy mode after watching this video in particular i must say this one thing... I appreciate you and your group, the wonderful people that are a part of the unit I am a part of, the fantastic and wonderful talent of ArmA 3, AND last but certainly not least, Bohemia Interactive and ArmA 3 itself. Thank you!
I personally enjoy your ignis madness type videos more then essays, however I can clearly see the love and creativity for arma not just from you but the entire community and that is inspiring in itself. Although I do not have arma I do wish all the arma community good times and good vibes, and have hopes that you all get to continue that in even greater depth as time goes on.
never expected to be watching an Arma documentary but here it is. and i am glad. truly one of if not THE best game ever released. the devs, the modding community and mission builders have made something genuinely special.
One of my first real arm experiences was joining a Warhammer 40 guardsman group and experiencing what it feels like to have PTSD as our artillery shells were exploding around me and tau soldiers were coming in closer… god I love arma
What a beautiful video! :D As a modder turned Bohemian, this was such a beautiful explanation of what makes Arma so special ♥ Also: Our dear tank Edita still has its account! (BohemiaTank)
I know you think you’re not qualified to give these essay videos but I gotta say the way you deliver the information in ways that even I a simple fool can understand while still being entertaining is amazing
I'm not gonna lie, I was not expecting a video essay from you Raptor, but it's super appreciated. Excellently put together video, looking forward to SOG next week. Keep being the best ARMA youtuber going, you're rad as hell
I really appreciate these video essays especially when they give credit to the modders. Keep doing what you do brother. Everything about this channel has given me joy, from the videos to the discord and the community. keep a safe distance in the convoy.
My first year in Ignis has been an experience unlike any other. Thank you for letting me in to your little den of insanity, and introducing me to the wonderful sandbox that is ArmA3.
Love your stuff Jay! I, too, started with Arma 2 back when I was a young LT in the Army. In the past few years, I've been heavily dabbling in PVE missions for myself, so seeing you talk to all of these amazing creators making these mods is crazy!
Man. This video actually brought a little bit of a tear to my eye, especially at the end. So many memories... so many hours and so many friends have been made over the... 12 years I've played this game series. Great job man. Truly.
Starting a petition to add Jay to the list of things that make Arma great. You have shown me so much more of what the game has to offer then I already knew in such an individual way that I look forward to every video you put out. Thank you (and everyone in your unit) for providing content loved by so many and bringing joy to many days!
As someone who got the game and even found a troop to play with but hasn't been able to "socialize" (due to time stuff) this video really helped me realize how fun it will be once I finally find the time to play.
I really appreciate jay going into pretty damn good detail on how the mission creator and Zeus stuff works. Really puts into perspective how much work goes into the ops we get to see so regularly
Just wanted to say the first video I saw was the “avoid the deep woods” a while ago, and you’ve been one of my top five favorite TH-cam channel since. Thank you so much and here’s more in the future!!
Watching your videos made me and a group of my buddies get into the game and I hope someday I can join your group and play in your ops. Your videos are fun to watch, keep it up man.
Arma is a different kind of beast. I was talking the other day about how I loved this game mode in STALKER GAMMA called warfare, where factions would dynamically fight and engage one another's squads. I was like 'why has no one made this again? Without GAMMA's weird survival quirks' and lo' and behold there's an arma mod for exactly that
This video just screams labor of love, not only your love for the game and its community, but the developers, modders and playerbases love for the game and the good times it has created for you all.
Man, I love this game, I have more than 800 hours without even playing multiplayer (I don't have a good enough PC to join a group) This video made me want to play again
Gotta say everytime I see one of your videos I look at Arma with more intrigue and interest! I love community events like what Ignis does and what many Arma groups do. Commenting to feed the TH-cam Machine because you definitely deserve it for the effort you've done in this video and what you keep posting every friday! Best wishes!
thanks for this video. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed hearing stories from the modders who have worked on so much of the content I have gotten hours and hours of fun out of
Rubix ffs, how glad am I to see another essay of yours. Don't get me wrong, Ignis shenanigans are a permanent fixture in my life, and I love them as much, but after the Helldivers opinion piece, I really wanted to see another video of such sort, and you delivered so much more.
Amazing video. Really helped open my eyes to the possibilities in Arma. Been watching your videos for a few years now and I'm always impressed. Keep up the excellent work and can't wait to see what's in store.
This love for the game is why i want to join Ignis. The care and love without the overly seriousness of most groups is the thing i crave at this point.
I wish WebKnight would tackle a Battletech/Mechwarrior conversion project. I feel like with the scale and systems and everything in ArmA 3, it would be a perfect combination. Update from farther into the video: There already is a Battletech mod? I remember seeing maybe one or two mechs that looked like they belong in that setting from (I think?) unrelated groups, but if there's a proper mod dedicated to it, I'd love to see it!
A couple years ago when I was in school, someone saw me listening to a video essay, looked me dead on and said I'm a "white guys starter pack". Never been more confused lmao
Thank you Jay, genuinely. I've followed you since HAARP, and even as my tastes change, my participation in the ARMA 3 community came and went, and TH-cam gets less and less enjoyable, I can still always count on your videos to be entertaining bangers I can be happy to spend time on!

Just gotta say Rubix/Jay, you and Ignis are the reason I had enough courage to go and join a STARSIM unit (The 212th Attack Battalion woop woop) and it has been incredible. Maybe not quite the chaos of Ignis but it's still fun to run around as clones and shoot droids. Thank you, thank Arma, and thanks Bohemia. Sidenote: Ignis and ZF collab when?

To say i don't think i'll ever play arma but i've watched almost every single one of your video and now sat through an essay about that game engine says alot about the quality of content you make. May it be through the goof meter or not it's always enjoyable and gives me a good chuckle. PS: About that beer i owe ya.
ARMA III is one of the few, if not the only game, where a community has been brought together through the turbulence, anger, and frustration of modding. I cannot express the joy of playing mods and then screaming at the top of my lungs about dying while laughing. Overall, the ARMA community is an interconnected place where people from around the world can create, play, and enjoy their favourite fantasies without having to wait for franchises to produce games about those subjects and situations. ARMA is a community of friends-and, in some cases, lovers. In summary, this video perfectly captures the essence of ARMA. It’s a video game where wishes come true, brought to life by the blood, sweat, and tears of its passionate community. ARMA is a game where dreams that seemed impossible five or ten years ago are now a reality. To the ARMA community and the fans of Halo, Warhammer, and fantasy games, we owe our gratitude to Bohemia Interactive and the tireless modders who have dedicated countless hours to make this game possible. It is truly a game where "dreams come true."
I was not expecting scorch to be a mod dev also jay thanks to this vid i want a arma vid where space marines chasing chaos forces get transported to the halo universe which is dealing with the chaos enemies where they team up with spartans and halo marines that help the space marines get back to thier universe and join the space marines in stopping the chaos legions that made the portal
Used to spend a ton of time developing missions, stopped around 2020 when I had 9k hours. Your videos give me a good smile, lets me remember the stupid crap I used to make. PS: I was one of the devs for Anzu's Invade and Annex during the ArmAII era.
I haven't seen watched this yet and I know it'll be a blast. I've enjoyed every Op I've been a part of in Ignis and its always a treat to see my clips in videos. Like the title of the video This game can make your dreams come true..... as long as those dreams are of dying over and over as some poor 40k Guardsman
First and foremost, brilliant video Rubix, a great summation of why ARMA is so beloved amongst its players and just how important versatility and modding is when combined with a sandbox platform. As someone who's part of a mod team for Reforger, I can understand all the guys interviews at the end. I've heard about what its like to mod on Real Virtuality vs Enfusion and it sounds like a night and day thing so Im quite glad I started here haha. Already the things people are starting to do in Enfusion are impressive, especially at the quality that the engine allows for now and its great that Bohemia has been supportive right out the gate. The future is incredibly bright for ARMA.
there have been a lot of games I come back too, but none match how often I have the thought "I should play some Arma" I completely agree with the statement "the game that can make your dreams come true". I've spent so many hours just sitting in zeus making my own battles for myself or my small group of friends, messing with wacky combinations of mods or the various other game modes and modded scenarios. It is thanks to this toybox type gameplay that arma 3 will forever hold a very dear and special place in my heart. :)

Otra coronación de gloria traído por RubixRaptor 😂😂😂
Gotta love the fact he traded his job to play modded arma 3 with the most unhinged people on the internet
Truly a worthy invesment if I ever saw it
An EXTENDED FEATURE?! Praise the Raptor man and his Ignis subjects! Wooooo!
Although I do not have arma I do wish all the arma community good times and good vibes, and have hopes that you all get to continue that in even greater depth as time goes on.
never expected to be watching an Arma documentary but here it is. and i am glad. truly one of if not THE best game ever released. the devs, the modding community and mission builders have made something genuinely special.
ive never heard a youtuber sound so happy about their content since like 2019 even convinced me to try the game and it was fun as hell
One of my first real arm experiences was joining a Warhammer 40 guardsman group and experiencing what it feels like to have PTSD as our artillery shells were exploding around me and tau soldiers were coming in closer… god I love arma
What a beautiful video! :D
As a modder turned Bohemian, this was such a beautiful explanation of what makes Arma so special ♥
Also: Our dear tank Edita still has its account! (BohemiaTank)
Thanks for the shout out! We appreciate the visibility you bring to the arma community! Keep on keeping on!~

Would love to see that full 1 hour videon on optre :)
fax no printer 💯
I know you think you’re not qualified to give these essay videos but I gotta say the way you deliver the information in ways that even I a simple fool can understand while still being entertaining is amazing
I'm not gonna lie, I was not expecting a video essay from you Raptor, but it's super appreciated. Excellently put together video, looking forward to SOG next week. Keep being the best ARMA youtuber going, you're rad as hell
My genuine favorite thing about Arma is you can do literally anything, any universe can work in arma from Ace Combat to Halo as long as mods exists
Man, I love this game, I have more than 800 hours without even playing multiplayer (I don't have a good enough PC to join a group)
This video made me want to play again
i’ve legit spent 3000 hours just making compositions for artwork in this game, arma 3 is so incredibly versatile
truly a way to play your favourite games in the way you can only dream of
Gotta say everytime I see one of your videos I look at Arma with more intrigue and interest!
Glad to see my buddies at Tiberium Genesis getting an interview. Its been such a great time helping Sentry test out his work.
Where would I be without my White Man Video Essays.
so real
What else am I supposed to do, sit alone with my thoughts?
A couple years ago when I was in school, someone saw me listening to a video essay, looked me dead on and said I'm a "white guys starter pack". Never been more confused lmao
Thank you Jay, genuinely. I've followed you since HAARP, and even as my tastes change, my participation in the ARMA 3 community came and went, and TH-cam gets less and less enjoyable, I can still always count on your videos to be entertaining bangers I can be happy to spend time on!
1:40 wait, hol up… you were a company man?
Even worse, federal government
@@johnb3587 god dang it he’s the reason why the Waffle Houses kept exploding
@@johnb3587 "The Company" is an old nickname for the CIA.
MI6 is known as "The Circus" and MI5 was known as "Box". (It's early address was just a PO Box).
A lot of intel agencies have funny euphemistic names.
At first i thought that this was just a longform Arma gameplay vid, but was pleasantly surprised to find a documentary style dive on the game. on another note, super hyped to get your patches this Monday!
God Webknight is like the Benji of arma (Benji is this really sick dev for 40k and titanfall stuff in gmod, he made an entire titanfall titan system and then reworked it entirely for imperial knights, the man is a wizard when it comes to vehicles and i don't think i would've had as much fun in gmod 40k without him)
0:10 I'd love to see another Half-Life 2 OP someday
Me to
you will, dont worry
Just gotta say Rubix/Jay, you and Ignis are the reason I had enough courage to go and join a STARSIM unit (The 212th Attack Battalion woop woop) and it has been incredible. Maybe not quite the chaos of Ignis but it's still fun to run around as clones and shoot droids. Thank you, thank Arma, and thanks Bohemia. Sidenote: Ignis and ZF collab when?
The ArmA series is the equivalent of playing with action figures, but on a grand scale. Probably one of the reasons I love it so much.
Rubix, where is my christmas video Rubix, you better not kill santa this time Rubix
I'm so happy I read the comments after what Jay said at 1:40 I thought I was missing out on some lore or I was going CRAZY. That is..... a interesting Pipeline IG......
christmas came early, cheers man and thanks for the content!
I had forgotten that streamers played RP of this and those memories flooded back in with the force of a cinder block traveling at terminal velocity
This video really does display your passion for this wacky game, looking forward to the future of Arma and Ignis Corp!
A very good documentary. Love the behind the scenes and work that goes in making the mods and Arma itself
1:38 YOUR WHAT? That explains all the inteligence added on your campaings
there have been a lot of games I come back too, but none match how often I have the thought "I should play some Arma" I completely agree with the statement "the game that can make your dreams come true". I've spent so many hours just sitting in zeus making my own battles for myself or my small group of friends, messing with wacky combinations of mods or the various other game modes and modded scenarios. It is thanks to this toybox type gameplay that arma 3 will forever hold a very dear and special place in my heart. :)
ive played the arma series for well over 15 years and absolutely love it and cannot recommend a game higher than the arma series
