- Greetings everyone!
My name is Ataullah, and for the past 6 years, I have been studying and living in China. During my time here, I attended some of the top universities in the country, such as Tsinghua University, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), and Wuhan University, and had an incredible experience.
Today, I want to address a question that many students ask when considering coming to China: Can you work as a student in China? The answer to this question is not straightforward, but I'll do my best to explain it.
To study in China as a student, you need an X1 or X2 visa. The X1 visa allows for a longer stay and requires a residence permit. This type of permit doesn't allow students to work freely inside the country, but there is a possibility to work with the support of your university.
Many universities in China offer internships and summer programs with various companies and institutions, including renowned ones like Huawei. As an international student, you can take advantage of these opportunities and become an intern, earning some money and gaining valuable experience. Furthermore, working with a company linked to your university could open doors to future work opportunities in China.
If you want to work independently from your university, you need to first earn an internship or job and then apply for another type of visa. This is the only legal way to work in China as a foreign student. I strongly advise against working illegally in China, as it can lead to serious consequences, including deportation.
Many universities in China have websites where internships and job positions are published, so be sure to check with your university for more information. At Tsinghua, for example, there are many opportunities for students to gain work experience while studying, and I'm sure other universities follow a similar format.
In conclusion, although working in China as a student has some restrictions, it's not entirely impossible. With the support of your university, you can gain valuable experience and potentially open doors to future work opportunities in China. Thank you for watching, and I hope this video has been helpful.

Was on X2 visa for a vocational program. Few months ago I decided to take my degree but my visa was up for expiration. It's not very easy to get a part-time job while studying MBBS in China, to be honest.

I think you can go for Wuhan University. You can only work with the permission of your university.

Hi there. Thanks for your comment. The rule for students studying on self or partial scholarship is that they can work part-time but with the permission of their supervisor or international college. For those who are on scholarship, they are not allowed to work generally but if the supervisor or school allows that's a different case. After you graduate with any degree you are legally allowed to work. There are several apps to find jobs in China such as BOSS, 51Job.com. and 智联招聘. I hope it answers your question. @@liaa0987 My pleasure. I didn't hear anything like transferring credits from a Chinese university to other countries' universities. Students can get admission but can't come to China, so you have to study online.
You had another question about staying in China after completing the degree. You can stay with the permission of the university for one or two months but there should be a valid reason for example if you got any job offer or you are waiting to join any university. The current school can help you to get a visa for a month or two. Hope that helps!

I personally know many friends who are working after Master and PhD degrees in China. You can get a really nice job with a handsome salary package.

If you are an international student and want to audition for theater can we audition without work permit or if can the company help us with work permit?
Yes, your host company helps you with work permit. If your company wants you to audition online then you don't need a visa or work permit. But if you want to come to China and work here then you need all the required documents including a valid visa. Best of luck!

Salam Nida. I hope you are well. Part-time jobs are allowed now but only with the permission of your institute or university. Last month the Central Government revised the policy.

You can only apply for a Master's if you have 4 years BS degree. If you are on a self-finance base then you can do a part-time job with the permission of the university.
