I would consider this expansion essential, because it makes roads a viable source of points, which they were not in the base game. Not having to rely exclusively on drawing city tiles instead of road tiles improves the game immensely.

Thank you for this overview! It is exactly what I was wondering for what was included in this expansion.

    Ohh, Pink!
The sixth player used to by grey. At least in the version I have.

+watcherFox Yeah, I have the same gray version. I think the difference is that the gray version doesn't include an abbot for the extra player. I checked with Z-Man Games and you can't purchase the pink set separately. So, I just made a little gray abbot out of LEGO. :-)

2:56 "You cannot score these two roads"
I aint buying that, it's jsut one point but its a score to me.
If they didn't want the player to score they'd've embiggened the village to block the field instead of laying down road.

@@peteralexander3791 I have since purchased the expansion, and it even states in the rule that those roads are just for show, so I retract my statement.

From a points perspective, it's like the changes between Canasta, Samba, and Bolivia. Just enjoy!

Sir what's the purpose of the small marked meeple on this expansion?

    • @markangeloflores9180

Sir on the set up is it just like in the River Expansion? I thought that the Expansion are combined with the base game tiles on the stack before you play 😊

Who else finds it funny to hear a Usonian pronouncing “Carcassonne” as ‘CAR-kuh-zone’? 😅

shields are three points? I was sure it was 2...

Shields are worth three points IF you have the cathedral in the city. Normally they are worth two.

Why do Americans insist on saying Carcassonne like "carcass-zone"? Double N means that the magic E is not in effect, so it's said like in gone. It's really not that hard, it's as per usual like going out of your way to mangle a word.

      Cool story, bro.
Sam's pronunciation is correct for American English. You're wrong.
