you gotta stay out of atmo longer so you can hit your max velocity going to a point far away from a OM point or other jump locations. Once you are over your destination is then when you drop into atmo so you can just go straight down at a very high rate of speed, being decoupled also helps you reach higher speeds and when out of atmo gravity wont pull you into the planet so you can just burn and just let it coast
